I also love Paris. I lived in Spain when I was 23 and visited parts of Italy, Florence Milan, Verona, but not Rome. Yet. But when I was older, I finally discovered Paris and there’s something so special about the place that I want to return and return.
I also don’t read Stephen King, but I did read misery and I suggest Dolores Claiborne. It’s not horror and it’s not a scary as misery but it’s really good. I’ve never read any other book by Stephen King and I don’t watch horror movies either.
Thank you for your intelligent conversation and interesting book suggestions. Aloha

Hi Marilyn Maya, I am not a fan of Rome I'll confess.. just too hectic to move around... I prefer smaller treasures like Verona, and Florence has become one of my favorites lately as I got more and more in love with Renaissance Art... I live near Venice (kind of, it's about 90 min drive) on the Adriatic sea. Thank you for your Stephen King suggestion, I will definitely add that to my reading list. I am quite obsessed with Paris, sometimes I am brought to tears by its beauty and atmosphere, especially in Montmartre.. I get so emotional like I have lived there in a past life 😅 It must have been a very happy one 😉 Thanks for watching!

@@Uncommon_Reader I missed going to Rome in the 80s because I had four children with me. Now I can’t go because I have arthritis and use a cane. Rome would be too difficult with all those seven hills andcobbled streets. I I heard that Siena is a nice city and flatter. I’ve been to Florence and remember spending the whole day in the Ufizzi Museum, it was marvelous how they went from the earliest periods to the latter. Most of all I love Italian people and Italian food is my favorite. my daughter laughs at me because I eat pasta every day. Not so unusual in Italy? There are very good Italian restaurants. In Paris as well. I’ve been to Paris four times and keep going back. But I confess, I haven’t spent much time in Montmartre as other parts of Paris. Maybe next time.
As you can guess I loved traveling. My father was born in Puerto Rico so that was my first trip and then I lived in Spain and danced Latin American dances. When I was 50, I went to Japan and taught English. And I taught in Hawaii as well. I’ve been here for 40 years . when I was younger, I read mostly nonfiction. I wanted to learn things and learn how to travel without much money. There wasn’t the Internet then. But I also discovered Jane Austen and other classics. Since I’ve been on book tube, I’ve expanded my reading, but I have always been a voracious reader like my mother before me. Sorry for the long comment I make longer comments on other peoples channels than my own videos sometimes.😀. nice to meet you. Maybe one day our paths will meet across two oceans. Ciao and aloha.

@@MarilynMayaMendoza I love long comments 🥰 So here's mine: Siena is quite beautiful, like many other small towns around Tuscany. The hills are also most spectacular. I also love the Amalfi coast a lot, quite far from me, but have fond memories of the coastal scenes of Positano and Ravello. I personally lived in California for 15 years, and have been in Hawaii during that time, only once though, in Kawaii, so beautiful and peaceful. No, not so unusual to eat pasta everyday in Italy, mostly man with physically demanding jobs would expect that type of meal on the table every day (and a second serving or a second dish afterwards 😉) In my house, we have it twice a week, and usually prefer the whole wheat or even gluten free types, and I find pasta made with red lentil flour quite delicious (with lots of healthy fibers and proteins!). I always read in my life but it was during the recent pandemic that I got addicted to books, it was my escape during the forced shut down. Luckily, it was an addiction that didn't worn out 😉 Well, wouldn't it be so cool and adventurous to meet each other in Paris? Fingers crossed, I may be stopping by the Ville Lumiere on my way to California later in October... Ciao, Aloha and Au Revoir 😉

Hi Nicole, thanks for connecting! I just subscribed to your channel and will take a peak tonight! I found the author you mention available at my San Jose library so I will definitely check it out next time I am in California.. I see they are well rated and I am intrigued. Alas, no trace of him at my local library in Italy... Thank you!
