Ciao Daniela, i quattro libri de "L'amica geniale" a me sono piaciuti moltissimo!
Oh my goodness, Daniela! Your version of this tag is so beautiful! Thank you so much for this lovely response. I love your choices for each of these prompts. I was making a whole new list of books to read based on your choices. I, too, somehow have not yet read Elena Ferrante. She has been on my radar for a long time, and I do have My Brilliant Friend. I want to get to this whole series soon. I will look forward to your video on Azar Nafisi and Read Dangerously. I have been reading banned books all year and am helping MJ at Reading This Life with the "I'm with the Banned" Banned Book Club. I think I really must get to Read Dangerously. In other matters, I wish that I could speak/understand Italian. I may just see what I can glean from your Italian channel even without knowing the language. I recently made a trip-of-a-lifetime to Ireland to discover where my beloved grandmother, my father's mother, came from, and it was an incredibly moving experience. I hope to visit Italy next as that is where my mother's parents came from. That, too, will be a dream-of-a-lifetime. Thank you again, Daniela, for this beautiful version of my tag.
Oh dear Pat, you made my day! I had a really joyful time doing your original tag. I am glad you enjoyed it. I need to check out MJ's channel and the Banned Books Club. This year I did a buddy read with Reney of Beyond Books on Anne Frank's Diary.. And, if you are interested, I'd be happy to do a buddy read with you on My Brilliant Friend, I think I need an extra motivation to get started 😉 Also, I'd be curious to see the differences as the english version may be quite different from the Italian, which I imagine is filled with dialect terms since the story is set in Naples... I look forward to you visiting Italy one day, let me know if that happens. I lived in California for 15 years and still visit twice a year. I look forward to your comments on Azar Nafisi's video, you will fall in love with her! I think Reading Lolita in Tehran is as powerful as her latest book as it also shares real stories of her female students where she was teaching in Iran and explaining why authors you may consider harmless like Jane Austen, were banned there. I added a few books Nafisi mentions in Read Dangerously to my reading list, and in November I will start reading Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury... As for my Italian booktube Channel, not sure if english subtitles show up... that would be helpful 😉 Thank you for your kind words! 🌻
