As a Mini owner, I took great satisfaction watching you pass the Porsche. It was fun to believe for a moment, that my daily commuter is a world-class race car. 😊
This sounds soooo much like my R56....mine is quoted as having a stage 3 map at 275 ponies, but I think its a standard turbo and it boosts to just 19 psi so I believe its more like 240 ponies. Must get it on the track this year given I have just done an engine rebuild to stop the dreaded oil burn!!
By that time the engine had about 270-280 hp, forged internals on hybrid turbo. Bilstein one way “challenge” coilovers. Wavetrac diff. Nankangs AR-1 225/40. After that video the engine and cooling have been completely rebuilt and uprgaded with stronger and bigger hardware. Now it has some less power (250 hp) but it should be able to be driven for many laps without overheating and hopefully last forever 🤘🏼… looking forward to test on the Nordschleife next spring or summer
@@matoncars6713 That's less than I thought, the handling looks perfect, but it's hard to say without feeling it. You've created an amazing machine. This is with no bracing as well? Poly bushes? Etc. I hope to do something similar soon. They're getting quite cheap in the UK now, but I'm stuck between R53, R56 N14/N18. But I can envision it being similar to yours (hopefully). Looking forward to the next videos!
Hello the car was prepared by GPGarage in Italy by the time of the video. Actually the engine has been completely stripped out and Krumm is rebuilding according to his Nordschleife specs 💪🏼
@@matoncars6713 cool, from my research they seem to be more tunable than the n18. But I guess we know the issues the N14 can give, you reckon N14 could be a daily driver with 240-260hp? Talking about the factory jcw
@@pedrogoncalves3660 Both are equally tunable and affordable if they’re fresh, well driven and often serviced (I suggest 7-8000 km oil changes). N18 has newer electronics and slightly better head but nothing major. For street driving 250-260 hp is no problem at all… 250hp is also safe for track only cars with good radiators.
I want you to have a better time than a toyota yaris gr. because they advertise it as the fastest hot hatch of all time but I don't think it's faster than the mini if they have the same power. I wait your video 😉
With the same power the two cars might be “similar” thanks to the lightness of the Mini but the Yaris has the huge advantage of traction (transmission and huge tyres fittable up to 265 mm 😳)… plus an easily tunable engine (many guys have 320 hp since one or two years without issues). With the setup of my video I could have been faster by 3-4 sec with just better tyres than Nankang I think (always 215). We’ll see…
flawless....! pure joy to watch you driving.

Okay. must say I am in love with that interior and I’m sure everyone else is too😍
Very great driving Mat, very nice to see your skill on track ; - )
When will you take back to the Ring your blue monster?

Very nice lap 👍🚘👍
Thanks!!
Top drive, well done!
Incredible lap, may I have a breakdown of mods and power?

No bracing, some poly bushes in front/rear, bigger rear ARB
Not sure if there is any better interior spec than this one... it is custom or standard?
Also, great driving :D

Nice smooth driving at speed, are you using a short shifter. I enjoyed watching and would like to try it too.
Hello yes it’s a short shifter (a sort of CAE from a different brand) with stock gearbox and ratios
Hello I'm curious which company tuned your car. It sound very smooth.
