  • Sorry. I got side tracked so Day 5 is landing a little late.
    What a day though! Definitely one to remember. A massive climb up to Yad Stone pass beneath Cross Fell and then a long descent on the other side that brought us almost all the way to our next campsite.
    If you enjoy this one even a fraction as much as I did then I'll be very happy.

    However, as I am not one to doubt the words of such an eloquent and handsome schaman, I am now a believer! In Haribo! Although I haven't eaten one for the last twenty years or so, I will from now on carry them wherever I go. I pray they help against ticks and leeches too.
    Five stars for your final hairdo, by the way⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐😉
    One that is only obtained through hard work, up and down boggy mountains, while keeping your spirits up! Although Alan's hair seems to have stayed the same, I'm sure he must have worked just as hard. Well done, both of you! I'm sure the view must have been worth it, on such a fine day.

    • @JethroJessop
      @JethroJessop  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm sure other confectionary could be used in place of Haribo but who know what kind of spirits you may summon if you try!!
      Thanks for the hair compliment. I started cutting my own hair during covid and now it kind of has a life of its own so I just let it get on with it. I'm never sure what its going to be doing from day to day :)

    • @Anna-Ess
      @Anna-Ess ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'll take your word for it!!
      The sweets I carry are usually dates and dark chocolate. With a combination of those two, I should be able to summon someone really powerful, don't you think? That would indeed be necessary, if I was to undertake a quest like that mountain. I'd probably summon Pegasus and just fly over it! Arriving with dry feet.😉
      What my hair would look like after that ride, I dare not think about. I, too, started cutting it myself during covid. Got too long, cut off six inches, still sixteen to go. So, magpie nest, probably! In which case I can just sit and wait for the gold, occasionally shaking my head, collecting the coins as they come down🪙🪙🪙🪙🪙😉

    Achilles tendon? Tendonitis? Possibly. I had it a few times during my running career, it does get better of course and the best form of remedy is to rest it. Hard luck Jethro ha ha! I used to hate my Dr for thinking that ‘resting’ was a remedy. I wanted a remedy that allowed me to continue with my running and training. I didn’t always heed his advice, which meant the Achilles hurting more and taking longer to heel. Good luck with it, fortunately cycling isn’t too impactful. You’ll get better I’m sure. I was going to comment upon the amount of tarmac ridden, at the beginning of this post; but then, as suddenly as the thought entered my head; you where pushing your bike up grassy, gravel paths and out into the aesthetically pleasing countryside.
