So you’re just downloading and installing all these mods manually and not using any of the mod managers (OBMM, Wryebash) correct? Or using BOSS/LOOT to organize them? I guess that’s one way to do it. But don’t you technically have to use a Mod manger for some of the mods to actually work ?
For some Mods you do, I'm going to be working on a video soon on how to set up OBMM, BOSS etc.

Hey, this is a dumb question but I see a lot of "OMOD" files for mods, how do I install them? Is it just the same thing of dropping them in the data file?
Sorry for late response busy lately but OMOD is just a extension for the oblivion mod manager (OBMM) it's just used to apply the mods in obmm not necessary🙏
Thanks for this, it works great for that particular mod. How do I install other ones? FOr example I see you have better cities installed. That's the one I am trying to get to work now, very unsuccessfully I might add lol. Any help would be widely appreciated
God it's been so long since I installed mods 😂. But if it came with a "assets" folder or anything graphical related it has to be installed in the oblivion assets folder primarily, if I remember correctly there should be a few options for the better cities I don't think you can have all em of. I don't remember to be honest but it should be as simple as just putting the assets folder in to oblivion directory

Should I use the Vortex mod manager from nexus just to quit the hassle or should I do it manually or use mod manager because using vortex will make the mods to not work ?
Vortex and oblivion have a history of not cooperating, sure maybe most of the mods u decide to install w vortex will work. But it’s not guaranteed and will sometimes break, manually installing it is recommended or use OBMM!

Does it work if I have the original 2006 DVD version instead of Steam version?
If the the retail version will work, I’m not 100% sure but try getting one mod it might!

There are some mods I got from Nexus that doesn't say "ESP", What do I do in that scenario?
That’s probably graphics and ui overhaul or something most likely mods that don’t have ESP most likely have to be put in the graphics folder
So I'm guessing no one uses vortex anymore or is this the only way for mods to load up easily?
Some do, but the majority either manually install them or some using OBMM (oblivion mod manager)
Hi there, your video is really useful but when I download a mod, I get a 7z file and can’t open it to find an esb file. What should I do?
Did you download 7zip?
Some mods I downloaded came out as ESS but some are 7z even though I downloaded them all from Nexus
How do I fix this?
From what I understand ESS files are game saves, and the 7z is a bit unclear I’m guessing when you extracted something, the outcome was “This mod.7z”?
So does it matter which "Alternate Start" version i download?
Get primarily the ones on nexus, if recommend a manual Indtisll but if you want vortex go for it should work, as for versions always get the latest
none of the mods I installed have an esp file but I copied them into the data file and launched the game and theres nothing to tick on data files
When you launch oblivion through steam there should be the window that pops up like at 2:54 it’s right under the play button

You can mod it, if it’s the old disc then no, but if it’s the new disc then yes you can mod it!

Depending on the age rating, either way you can probably mod since I doubt you got oblivion on disc when it first came out right ?

I checked all my installed mods with a cross before starting the game, but all my mods are not working ingame. Do you know what could be the problem there? :(
That’s unusual do you have steams or gog games version of oblivion?

@@mantasjango yeah I checked that again, I Downloaded obse and draged all the Data into the oblivion folder. Man I dont know what this is. I will delete everything and try it again

I'm guessing you mean the launcher? If so then in the launcher you click "data files"

Steamdeck is relatively new probably can’t mod games if I find a way I will let you know😎
Also After I did everything in the video none of the mods showed up in the data files

Never heard of it but most likely a asset mod best if you look it up bc each mod probably requires something different like wyre bash or BOSS I haven’t covered those yet sorry all I can do is advice you to TH-cam or forums.
I bought Oblivion through GOG, what should I do then?
It should still work just open the oblivion directory
Since we are downloading manually, how do I keep the file directory clean and resolve any conflicts?
Best way is to obviously use a mod manager but some people do it manually, I'd just recommend making a folder/s inside the directory it should still detect the mods, if it doesn't then I'd say use a mod manager

I haven't uploaded in a long time but what kind of mods are you looking for? And the best mod manager out there in my opinion is OBMM.
@@mantasjango I've never played Oblivion before so just quality of life stuff that doesn't change the base game too much, also I don't know how to install OBMM and I don't want stuf installing to my C drive lol

I don't think it worked for me I'm trying to install a centaur mod and I had follow every step but it when I began new game is just crashes the game
It could be because you have another mod installed that is stopping the centaur mod from working properly, or it’s probably needs for you to install the audio and images and model of the centaur
What if I have multiple mods and if I click on 3 for example to activate and the game crashes what do i do?

Sorry for late response but no. A very small amount of mods work on cracked oblivion

Yh it happens but sometimes most mods also don't work on cracked it's really annoying trust me ik the pain 😭😭

Darnified is more of a texture pack mod it doesn’t really work like most mods, I’m sure you will find a good tutorial on TH-cam about it

I have a question. Can I delete what I downloaded? I pasted the files into the oblivion folder and it worked. Now I don't need the files that I downloaded, because their copies are where they should be, right?
Basically to simplify just download obse extract the files paste the files into obse and it's all done !!!!

I’m not sure cracked oblivion works, but for you I will try I’ll research about it for a bit and see!
There are some mods that won’t work sadly only the fun ones, but the simpler ones might work. OBSE doesn’t run well with cracked oblivion and most mods don’t either. But you can try to do cracked with some mods u want it’s the same process as in the video
