Thanks for just being simple So many channels say “simple” way to install mods then go on to explain in detail why I need a computer science degree first to install mods😂
OMG TY!! It’s late so I haven’t been able to do all of this yet but I will hop to it first thing in the morning. I’ve been wanting to play modded oblivion for so long I can finally do it!
thanks bro! Easy and direct tutorial, without needing to download another 2 or 3 mod management programs, I'll test it later but apparently I managed to install all the correction patches I wanted without errors or conflicts ;)
You literally taught this better than anybody else that I’ve watched videos from!!!!! I couldn’t figure it out to save my life and you helped me do it in less than 10 minutes🎉 you’re the goat thank you
Thank you very much for this, I'm using a translator to write (I'm from the Spanish section) and this was the only video that helped me after searching in both languages for a tutorial, I can't express how grateful I am 💗
Thank you for the short and straight to the point vid. I'm just trying to install a handful of basic mods and tweaks for stability and the installation guide on nexus is very vague and obviously assumes I already know what do. Also tried to use mod managers to make it "easier" and they just confuse everything even more and seem to be more trouble than they're worth unless I have a step by step guide.
So I used this method to install the Unofficial Oblivion patch and copied over the .esp like you show how to do in this tutorial. Now when playing the game, all over the world i see giant yellow boxes with an exclamation point. I see a lot of people saying that it's due to missing meshes. Was there anything else I was supposed to do?
Those mods aren't basic mods, mods that require textures and meshes should be installed into the data folder alongside the .esp for manually, id recommend you to using OBMM or MO2 for oblivion!
Never heard of it but most likely a asset mod best if you look it up bc each mod probably requires something different like wyre bash or BOSS I haven’t covered those yet sorry all I can do is advice you to TH-cam or forums.
The catch is that true modding experience for Oblivion is spending 75% of your time troubleshooting compatibility and CTD using utilities like TES4edit, wyre bash, etc to fix things. I'm reminded why I dropped the game, due to the questline flag systems triggers something that causes a CTD when using doors.
So you’re just downloading and installing all these mods manually and not using any of the mod managers (OBMM, Wryebash) correct? Or using BOSS/LOOT to organize them? I guess that’s one way to do it. But don’t you technically have to use a Mod manger for some of the mods to actually work ?
Best way is to obviously use a mod manager but some people do it manually, I'd just recommend making a folder/s inside the directory it should still detect the mods, if it doesn't then I'd say use a mod manager
