    Just a quick note as a bridge cast user, If you use the USB-C to USB-C cable to connect to your PC, You will get full functionality including the full LED brightness. However, if you use the USB-C to USB-A cable to connect to your PC, you will require the the 5v USB-C to be connected to an AC adapter to give it the power that it needs for full functionality.

      It actually depends on the USB port you are plugging into. If you have a high speed USB Port, C to A is fine, as that is what I was using with it as a test. The most common connection people would be using with this device.

    Cool video mate, I like how even in this format you've also got some yugioh going on in the background!

    how were the gaming EQ preset settings derived and for which headphone have they been made for? The headphone you wear will have an equally large effect on the sound as these EQ settings
    Without knowing the headphone that the sound is going to be reproduced over, there's no way of knowing whether a certain frequency range is overrepresented or underrepresented.
    The EQ settings shown on the bridge cast seem to imply that e.g. for Apex you need 3 dB more energy at 1.2 kHz, but the fact is that individual headphones differ by much more than 3 dB among each other, so you can not possibly make a statement like "every headphone needs 3 dB more".
    For some headphones you'll need 3 dB, for others you'll need 1 or 6 dB.
    For others you may even need -5 dB.

      @Techtacula  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Absolutely right yeah.
      But at least they allow these presets to be editable and I'm sure they took a lot of that into account. I am sure they would have tested it on a range of headphones (if they were doing their due diligence) and probably picked the top 5 or top 10 most popular gaming headphones and most likely found that the simple EQ tweaks would cover majority of people.

      @@Techtacula I would love to know which headphones they used to make these EQ presets, so I can make a list of headphones that support these EQ settings. since they are supposedly made by gaming audio engineers from roland. please let me know if you can get any info on that!
      I guess its just a sales trick since "everybody keeps asking for EQ settings for games, so we will sell them an answer regardless of whether or not it's actually correct"
      EQ settings cannot be universal.

    As some one who uses the Wave and wave link softwhere attached to my stream deck I cant speek much on it, but it looks like this is a nice little deck for the cost. to bad they dont allow you to use other software with it, using the wave link with actual nobs would be good.

    • @Techtacula
      @Techtacula  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Well that's the thing about hardware. Only the brand owners can make software to fully take advantage of it haha but I agree.

    I'm so smoothed brained with this stuff but maybe you'll have a better idea. I've been trying to get my stream set up where I have all my audios set in different channels for editing into videos later on (to make my mic quieter at one point post stream, or maybe my friends on discord are too quiet and I don't realize til AFTER the stream and need to turn them up.) I tried using OBS' beta Application Audio Capture and while that works for recording, it doesn't work for streaming. Would this be able to do that, or is this just editing audio real time in a more physical way instead of going back into OBS? I found your video after trying to look up audio mixing and exactly how it works in the live stream setting and I'm not getting a super straight answer and don't wanna end up buying something if its just editing live time hahaha.

    • @Techtacula
      @Techtacula  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for the comment!
      So what you need to do is in the OBS settings, you need to enable more audio tracks in the recording tab. After that, when you go into the OBS mixer, click the settings and click "Advanced Audio settings" you can choose which audio is saved to each audio track. then you have individual control after the fact!

    Can I record from a pc and output to a Mac

    • @Techtacula
      @Techtacula  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah because you can connect a 3.5mm cable from the Line Out port on the windows PC into the Roland, which is connected via USB to the Mac.

    Will a mixer help my split audio for dual pc stream setup? Or should I just use 2 AUX cables with insulators & Elgato audio capture? I have the Quadcast S and seeing what’s most optimal for routing audio and all thru Elgato card

    • @Techtacula
      @Techtacula  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Can absolutely help a tonne for a dual pc setup. You would have Roland connected to the Stream PC and your game PC sending audio via line out into the AUX port of the Roland. Other option is to spend a bit more money and go for something like the Roland Bridgecast X or the Rode Caster DUO which have 2 USB ports to connect to 2 PC's at the same time.

      I'll hopefully be checking that out in the near future! A lot of this was made before that got unveiled and the point of this review was to compare it to competing brands, not its big brother.

    Hardware for streamers is the gamers hardware of the audio world. The need for RGB everywhere gives it away.

    • @Techtacula
      @Techtacula  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Custom colours are extremely useful regardless of whether its a "Gamer" product or professional product. The Rode Caster Pro II has many customizable colours for its sound pads, headphone dials and 6 audio channels, to allow easy designation and easily know which channel to adjust at a glance. Would you consider that Gamer Hardware? Or take the Ubiquiti Pro Max 24 PoE. This has RGB as well, and it is a professional server switch. It uses RGB to allow the admin to designate certain types of devices to certain colours and know which devices are in which types of ports at a glance. RGB doesn't always mean its just for "Gamers".

    Con, cant talk in call of duty and stream mic is always linked together.
    Con, 4 sub mixes is not enough for streamers.

    • @Techtacula
      @Techtacula  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      1. I'm a bit confused by your first statement. If you are saying that, you are streaming direct from the console, and the mic isn't working, then some troubleshooting needs to be done.
      2. I believe you mean virtual audio channels, not sub mixes. Mic, Music, Game, System, Aux, is enough for most people. If that is not enough for you, that's fine, but that doesn't mean it is not enough for streamers in general.

    • @Techtacula

      It is not a horrible product by any stretch of the mile. The value proposition is going to be different for everyone. But in the price comparison breakdown I share how it fits into the product stack. If its not for you its not for you and thats ok. There are other options out there.
