    Power by wire, fly by optics, intelligent flight control system, fully autonomous flight control software systems, and supercomputers for aircraft systems should be implemented on every airplanes and helicopters.

      The next generation of aircraft will surely have these!

      Aircrafts should not completely go automatic. Room for human control should always be there.

    Not to be confused with fly-by-wire systems on space craft. This meant "the wire" was the logical pathway the autopilot would use to maintain the craft in a pre-planned trajectory. Perfect example is the space shuttles decent through the atmosphere. The shuttle had to have this because it was doing an unpowered decent to landing (gliding). NO ENGINES! Without an FBW the shuttle would not be able to calculate its place on the "wire" and thus miss its target and kill everyone.
    Realistically to use the words "fly by wire" in aircraft is very mis-descriptive. I think a more appropriate term would be "augmented controls" or "power stick"

    But if in the abnormal situation of emergency where the norms will no longer be rational, is it true that the pilots would be just helpless under such circumstances? (Since the computer won't permit any exceptions)

    • @JxJAVIATION
      @JxJAVIATION  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Its true that the computer will not allow exceptions, but to cater for abnormal situations, some control surfaces will also have a direct mechanical link which would act as backup.

      Then how about the sad Air France 296 incident, sometimes I just don't feel safe about fly-by-wire though it is said to be safe

    • @JxJAVIATION
      @JxJAVIATION  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@chard6649 there are many factors which led to that incident, but it was mainly because the FBW was a very new concept back then, which led to some confusion on what action to take. But currently fbw is a safe system!

    Sir, how FBW is different from auto pilot system?

    • @JxJAVIATION
      @JxJAVIATION  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The FBW system is only for the movement of control surfaces. The Auto Pilot system provides flight management and flight guidance! This could be useful: my video on Auto Flight: th-cam.com/video/Y7fHt4OXjew/w-d-xo.html

      On Airbus A320
      Autopilot off-Pilot sends commands through the sidestick to the flight control computers.
      Autopilot on-Autopilot sends commands from its FMGC to the flight control computers.

    Does the new 787 and 747-8 have fly by wire?

    • @JxJAVIATION

    So it isn't control by actual wires (hahahah), in layman's terms, it is a digital feedback control system. I think that would be a more universally understood term than fly by wire
