Hi Colby and Amanda. Brian from Canada here. Good to see you're progressing. Paw is right. A good winter project. Sean and I will probly start next winter on ours. Cheers, bud, and budette
@@ColbyOsborn Yeah... I never thought of it that way. Snowed yesterday and dipped down below freezing. The 1 inch of snow stayed and accumulated on the ground. Im along the Alaska highway in Fort St. John.
I had to google it. Looks like stunning country! Even all of the way down here we were below freezing and had a little snow a couple of days ago. I think we're destined for nicer weather here soon though.
@@ColbyOsborn sure hope so. For you too. Actually had a warm spell up til the day before with t shirt temps. Amazing flying weather. Gentle breezes, oh and if you fly nights, you get amazing northern lights. Couple days ago they covered the entire sky.
Hi sir I want build bush plane at home. Please guide me me. Where I can get or buy blueprint or design of bush plane. Because I have not Idia how to build or design bush plane Kit . This is my big wish that I build back country stole plane in my country. Please Guide me . Thank you
This is the only video I have so far related to rigging flight controls. I will release a video soon showing the flight control covering process. It will probably be several months before I get into rigging the ailerons and flaps.

I'm late to the show, and too late for you to do it. But a friend of mine when building his plane would slide on clear heat shrink on the cable before crimping Nicopress sleeves. Then after crimping, slide it over the sleeve and cable ends and shrink it. This kept wires from sticking out and tearing fabric or hands close to them. Very much like you did on you fuel lines where they were close to the structure.

Good video. I need to start rigging my homebuilt but I need the model number for the nicopress tool. I ordered one from riggingwarehouse but its not the right one, I'll need to return it. The 'bite' on the swaging tool is too wide. (1/4")In order to put 3 crimps on a sleeve it looks like it'll need to be 1/8" wide.
With some practice, you can do this without the cable clamp & also lose the "tail" with the "gotchas". I attended a Nico Press class in the '70s when rigging sailboats. The goal was to not leave anything that could rip sails or stick hands...
Nice job, but I would make one recommendation: Use drill stops to limit your drill spinning chuck from hitting anything after the drill breaks through.

I saw a trick that works really well instead of a cable clamp, install your thimble and take your cleco plier s and put the fork end around the narrow part near the nicopress and the other end of the jaw over the round end where the cable goes around the thmble and then put a rubber band over the handles of the cleco pliers so you don't have to hold them. It is just the right tension to hold the cable nicely around the thimble while you position the nicopress and crimp it. Works like a charm. One question I have is when you put your cables to your rudder. How do you plan on setting the cable tension without turnbuckles!??
Sounds like a great tip! Thanks for sharing. Turnbuckles aren’t necessary on the BH rudder cables if you cut the cables to the correct length to hold the rudder peddles at the correct angle. The only tension in the system is created by the springs that hold the rudder pedals up. It's not a closed system so turnbuckles will only adjust the angle of the peddles, not add tension.
Hey @Colby Osborn do we have to install a seperate stick for the Falps or we can configure it along the aileron cables together. Would love to have your say on this. Can you share a link instead. Thankx
In aircraft Spruce and specialties catalog under pulleys the AN210-3 pulley installation instructions state: Shall not be installed on frequency used aircraft controls where the bend in the cable is more than 15 degrees. For heaven sakes that is so conservative that it is useless. This pulley is common on rudder and other control cables. What do you know about this?
@@ColbyOsborn Something is not right. I expect this was a copy and paste situation for the catalog and there is more to this via information not included.
The convention is stick forward pitch down, stick back pitch up. If the cables didn't cross pulling the stick back would deflect the elevator down, which would pitch the aircraft down. So these cable need to be crossed.

Your homemade bracket is to thin for the flaps, the cable could jump off the pully and/or the bracket will eventually have stress cracks because of the thin metal flexing. Very dangerous.
