My favorite part of this scene is the menace that seems to be building when Raylan asks if he knows where he's from. A lesser scene would have involved him touting Harlan County as a place that raises badasses or doesn't let assholes disrespect them or whatever. Instead we get a simple working knowledge of industrial supplies and a wicked left hook. 11/10 would recommend
Seriously! I was about to cringe thinking they were going to make the robber get scared as if Harlan County had some reputation. But instead his reaction was genuine, like "So?" And then the payoff of him simply knowing the difference between flares and TNT because it's a coal mining area, lol.
@@USN1985dos Raylin used to dig coal. Dynamite was just another tool of the job, and absolutely everybody in the hole(s) would have had the dynamite + fire safety drills put through their skulls, both by the company and the co-workers. Any boy that dug coal, but didn't know what dynamite looked like, didn't live that long as they found out the messy way.
How can you not love this show ! Just one genius scene after another. So many great characters with consistently the best dialogue I have ever heard. 👏💪
Same. And did you see the way the robber was looking around, the way the wheels were turning? For someone that got into high stakes robberies he actually was pretty smart. The dumb one could do very easily have ended up dead if Raylan was anyone else … or feeling just a little bit less pissed off.
One of the best parts of this series was the humanizing of the dialog between the good guys and the bad guys. Art’s character still see the likable qualities in the old man and puts himself thru a foot chase and grabs the guys oxygen tank cuz he knows he’ll need it when he catches him. 😀
I remember back in the 60's there used to be PSA's on TV in Kentucky that warned people what blasting caps looked like, to leave them alone, and to report their location to authorities. I remember finding one in the switchyard in Ravenna and reporting it to the yard foreman.
The actor with the flares is absolutely brilliant! His face after Raylan says: "so who tipped us you were here" (you'll have to excuse his grammar...) was perfect...
Are the writers of this show still putting out material like this? This was one of the best written shows on television. "Clearly, you're the smart one?" 😅
@@marcd1981I bought it on DVD. There is only one halfway decent character. I didn't give a crap about anyone else. It's better than nothing but doesn't compare
I don't know how many times I've watched it. I have it on DVD. I finished it and immediately put first disc in and start over lol. I'm surprised I don't say lines in my sleep lol
In the real world there would have been 40 cops, all shooting, 3 bystanders shot, 1 of the two robbers escaped in a high speed chase that would have caused $300k in damage to innocent peoples cars with 2 people critically injured. Both robbers sent to prison and released in 18 months.
The problem I've got with this show is that the US Marshall's Office/ duties don't involve chasing bank robbers, drug dealers, thieves, etc... They basically protect Federal Property, chase fugitives, and transport convicts... The day's of a Marshal Dillon are long gone!
I LOVE this character and the way Olyphant plays it.
Art chasing down the old bank robber and stopping to get his oxygen tank, priceless.
The guy can barely breath with the canula in, what's he going to do when he starts climbing?
The writing. My god, the writing. The legacy of Elmore Leonard is safe with this creative team, for sure.
I love everything about Raylan Givens! Encore!! ♥️

"That shit'll kill ya'. (The Chief says about cigarettes while simultaneously putting a huge wad of dip into his mouth).

I love the low speed foot chase.
I gave up running about 10 years ago since it takes a week to recover. Great scene from one of my favorite actors.
Searcy nailed that scene
Being from Harlan myself I can confirm we do know the difference between Dynamite and road flares
What’s Harlan like?
@@Keoniiii it's sad small dying county. It's nothing like the show to be honest.
@@valonstriker From the show I thought is WAS a sad, small, dying county.
I'm from Texas, I might not know what dynamite looks like but I do know what old fashioned road flares look like.

You cut off the best part!!!!!!!!!
Agree. No question, best slow MO chase scene ever filmed. Laughed my ass off.
There was more than a little mutual respect there at the end.
@@jimha8139It was both painful to watch AND funny as hell!!😂😂😂😂
This is probably my favorite season of this show.

Love the shot of Raylan moving past all the people just minding their own business in the bank. Feels like they're frozen in time.

I love Tim Olyphant & this show!
Down there we know the difference between dynamite and road flares
Best show ever! Was sad when it ended.
My all time favorite chase scene! 😅
It beats the French Connection chase scene.
SO much fun, watching Raylan & others do their thing ! Rock-it ! Bring home the bacon on being a 'good guy' !
Olyphant can play serious as hell but on talk shows he turned into a goofball. I like both
1st scene : Marshall Givens saw what he saw. 2nd scene : shit now you gonna havta shoot em' in the leg and write up all them reports.
Tim should have done a Major Motion Picture as Raylan with Mike Mann directing after Justified. Justified was excellent.
They tried "Justified: City Primeval", which I heard is no where near as good as the original.

@@patricknoone171 That's too bad. The original was very good.
That is SO GOOD!!!!
Great last name for a cool character.
After years of thinking High Noon belonged exclusively to the great Gary Cooper, I now think Tim should do a remake.
Raylan- all women want him, and all men want to be him....
One of my all-time favorite series still is I bought the CD
God damn it Hershal
2:40 that just cracked me up :-) x
So Herschel faked his death and became a bank robber, nice.
Was gonna comment this 😂😂
Raylan was the best.
That happens to be international superstar Nick Searcy.
One of the few men competent to play Raylan's boss. Respect!
I watch this just to see that nice old Bronco again.
in the real world, there is no chitchat when it comes to shooting.
❤ best scene ever.
I’ve watched Justified twice and for the life of me I can’t remember this scene at all.
I don't know how many times I've watched it. I have it on DVD. I finished it and immediately put first disc in and start over lol. I'm surprised I don't say lines in my sleep lol
That reboot in Detroit was a major crime Raylan would have been sickened by
Just wow
Slowest foot chase ever!
Is this the Justified show from a few years ago with Walton Coggins, or is it something new?
It's the same one.
Why did he park so far from the plane?
Name someone, anyone, cooler than Raylan. Go ahead, I'll wait.

Only in a shithole like US
Unless they get prosecuted for burning a red light in that chase. Then they get 50 years without parole.
That's rural Kentucky. There aren't 50 cops within 50 miles.
Hilarious

People are so used to simply obey... They went to the floor even with the Marshall right there.. I wouldn't...
