Nice video.... . I use to like longer wheelbase trucks myself, but after having run them for quiet awhile with several different variations I've come to realize 12.3 is the perfect size length,. 12.3 length along with extended wheel hex & or wheel spacers for a a little wider stance is perfect setup. I can't count the times I've seen crawlers bellied out on objects due to the longer wheelbase & the 12.3 with closer wheels go right over it. that little difference in length makes such a huge difference in performance that I now run all my vehicles at 12.3......👍🏼
I'm working my way through your library. This is my favorite video so far, you have to try hard to crawl well at the risk of losing your cars, and I have both of these. There's sand stone here but not very common or close to where I live so your choice of tires is very different.
Just found your channel.. I'm running a TRX4..as an all around truck.. Love the Capra.. And the Wraith.. You do a great job with the videos and the commentary.. Cool..🤠👍🏻
Yes, yes, yes! Luv my Ibex's! Which foams are you using. Crawler innovations here...6.0 soft up front with 6.0 mediums out back. Great vid nice driving!
Since your playing with some sport rc tires you should try the HPI rovers they also make them in a 1.9x4.19 as well for the gladiator. Super grippy tires
Your rigs are sweet ! In my opinion go back to the 1.9s on both rigs that lower them back down and not so much weight up hi I have both rigs also my capra will go about anywhere I like driving the Gladiator more but my Gladiator will pull the sidehill lines yours wont only because my center of gravity is low on both . Sweet place you have there to crawl 🤘
When you are using 2 rigs like this ... do you just use the 1 transmitter, and just flick from 1 model to the other? Or do you have 2 separate transmitters?
This was filmed one truck run at a time. Did the trail with the gladiator and came back with the Capra. I’ve done two controllers and one controller. Depends what I have available
Hey there - super envious of your location! Just wondering....since you're running Capra axles on the Gladiator, I assume you have the SOA setup also? If so, does it fit well between the chassis with no clearance issues? Cheers from Australia :)
@@westdesertwheeler Hey again - any reason you went with the 3 link instead of SOA?? Reason: - thinking of converting 'something' to run on Capra axles.
Logan: in your videos it seems as if the Savox 1212 is quieter than the Savox 1230. Would you say that is true or do they both make their presence known at all times?
Hey man technical question since josh wont respond, i just built a 3 gear for my capra, added the hurtz dig to it, when its locked it seems like its locking the front too? Just turning by hand so am i being paranoid?? All vanguish products. Transmission is super smooth to turn
Hi west desert I’m in Australia and I have a Capra 4ws on order I’m going yo put some 2.2’s on it and the tyres are 5.75inch tall do you think they will be ok
@@westdesertwheeler thanks I will try and find some super swampers. And also do you use the 1.9 duel foams in them. It’s hard to find the smaller sidewall in Australia
@@westdesertwheeler hi I have found some super swampers that are 5.40 high are they the height you use? And what inner foams do you use please thanks for your help
@@mattguion70 hi, I sometimes run super swampers on my 4ws capra and they're great. I also run duratrax deepwoods, they are a little tall, but man they grip. In a garden scenario they are perfect, but out in the wild rock I'd probably use the proline super swampers. John
I got both nd love both ..capra is built for straight performance nd gladiator is my awesome trail rig...but its transmission with all them gears make it really noisy..im getn used to it though 😂
@@westdesertwheeler yes, i like tall tires, it give so much ground clearance. i placed an order on a set for my capra. What kind of foams inserts did you use in your ibex tires? The tires i ordered comes with no foam inserts. I have a set of foams laying around the house. But I'm thinking of buy stage two foams.
For me, on the Capra I’m just not digging it due to the looks. Part of my enjoyment comes from scale elements of the hobby. I like to balance scale and performance, but more scale looking wheels and tires (tread pattern mostly, I don’t mind if they’re a touch big) bring me more enjoyment.
Great video as always, tires on the capra, look great and more importantly they grip...
Awesome trail. That Capra is cool but I really like the gladiator.
Capra for performance, Gladiator for looks......keep the tires!
This area is a crawler dream
You are sooooo lucky to have a place like this to crawl! If I was there I don’t think I could leave hahaha !
I said the same thing to myself haha be there for hours
Awesome place, I would look out for snakes too 😆👍
I was gonna say the same thing I wish I had to place like that to crawl
The Capra axles on the gladiator look perfect. You really can't tell. Man what a cool area.🤘🤘🤘 I'll take performance every time.
Definitely what I choose most the time! These might be a bit much
The Capra is absolutely awesome as is. Love the performance

Love the terrain out there.
Awesome video. If you ever get stuck out there be sure to call Winder towing. Matt will get you out!
Haha yeah, luckily I have many friends happy to go on a rescue
Some pretty gnarly stuff your running on. Love the videos, im hooked.

Both trucks look really good.
Plus one on the Holmes hobby crawlmaster sport
great location ~!!
really fun crawl driving course~👍👍
Both trucks look great! I’m thinking of a Capra now!

Thanks man!
Nice good place for crawling!!
I prefer the look of the Gladiator.
Nothing wrong with that!
Nice 👍 video
Nice ride nice 👍 location ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️👈🏿
Tires look awesome
Thanks man
I have a Capra with mud slinger 2.2 but I like that one u have on
The first 5 seconds had me LAUGHING so hard!! "ah" as RC rolls down the hill LOL
Nothing I could do but watch it go lol

What is the best tire on the axial capra
Since your playing with some sport rc tires you should try the HPI rovers they also make them in a 1.9x4.19 as well for the gladiator. Super grippy tires

What tires on the capra?
Buy that dog a drink. She earned it :)
What do they say performance over everything
What esc is good to use with that holms hobby pro motor in the gladiator?
Amazing man! Gladiator looks sweet. If I was gonna run 2.2 tires I'd go with 2.2 hyrax personally. Great vid and location.
Hyrax are good for wet conditions., never tried em on sand/desert terrain
What wheels and tyre's did you use on the Gladiator?
I'm torn which one to buy, the Gladiator or Capra, but leaning towards the Gladiator.
Do you have the drag on the Capra set to 100%?
How are those 2.2s not rubbing body on gladiator?!?!?!
When you are using 2 rigs like this ... do you just use the 1 transmitter, and just flick from 1 model to the other? Or do you have 2 separate transmitters?

Can you do a video on the Capra axle swap?
Unfortunately the truck has been sold and I no longer have it
My LHS has these Ibex tires but don’t know which foams to sell me with them. Any suggestions or which foams are you using?

This truck was 3 link! Chassis mounted servo
@@westdesertwheeler Hey again - any reason you went with the 3 link instead of SOA?? Reason: - thinking of converting 'something' to run on Capra axles.
I have to move to vegas.....how far away from Vegas is this???

i see you have the stock shocks on the capra still, did they leak like a seive or did you fix that
I put low profile hyrax 2.2s on my capra. I thought the normal 2.2s were way too big! You may change my mind
I think im going to move to utah what big city is closest tothese rocks??
Haha salt lake is the only big city in Utah

Yeah the Capra is definitely more capable but the gladiator looks great and performs really well too
Capra is 100% performance
They should sell a 2.2 Capra in my opinion
You know u can suck in the back bumper significantly with just a lil trimming and drill two new holes. Free upgrade!
My brotha, what kind of tires are you running on the Capra? Much respect.
Those are the Proline Ibex 2.2” tires

The soft foams they side roll pretty bad. It’s a really tall tire too

Mine are single stage, I didn’t buy them so I don’t know. Yeah some dual stage will work well
What is your dog's name?
Capra all the way I think 2.2 are a little big but if they work u3e them.
😁😁👍👍

88mm Capra shocks?
👊❤️
That would kill my gladiator that’s scale
Different builds but both are fun!
