Its 100% possible to do this from the Kayak. Most of the time we'll pull up the drive and rudder then drift right over the top of the strands picking it apart strand by strand. Of do the same over the thick kelp working the weedless right over the top of the mat.
Jeesh, I would have followed you in my kayak and caught 50+ fish...... Speed fishing is ok for time restricted tourneys, but darn.... Calicos feed the entire water column......
