Don’t let this distract you from the fact that Hector is going to be running three Honda civics with spoon engines, and on top of that, he just went into Harry’s and bought three t66 turbos with nos, and a motec exhaust system.

You should go with an LHT Ti setup for exhaust man.. LHT makes some of the best sounding exhausts for Hondas.. You cant go wrong with a custom Titanium V-band setup and you can easily mis-match resonator/muffler combos with replacing the whole exhaust. I cant afford Titanium, but I did go with 304 SS K-Teller piping and V-bands with Vibrant 3 inch muffler and and Ultra Quiet resonator and it sounds great.
I don't know for sure but that little strip of heat tape might be for the arc in the rear bumper to keep The tip from melting the plastic.. Which it doesn't seem that close but.. just a thought.
Thank you so much for doing this build. I never thought of buying an Integra again and modifying it the right way as a grownup. I'm living vicariously through you with this build. Btw that blue is the best color hands down on a EM1.
I bought a 95 240sx in 2006 for $1,500 with the only mod a cold air intake, since then I simply did a fujitsubo full exhaust, tomei lsd, 300zx full brake upgrade, 5 lug conversion, the things I believe the car needs to be better... Its a great car to drive, well balanced, great on gas, 5-speed, never drifted by me or the previous owner according to him, this was before drifting really took off, I cant see myself parting with it cause it handles like cars 10x the price, I drove newer sports car but its just something about the feel, sound, and rawness of the 240 I love it... Nissan did an excellent job and its so easy to work on...
I’m dying here Matt. I haven’t heard the Fujitsubo name in forever. I never liked the skunk 2 exhaust on any car and especially the SI. My buddy had one new and we never liked the skunk 2. Smart move taking off the header too. Besides Toda Im not sure I would use anything else on the SI. Loving this build being my buddy had an SI as his first new car and I had a 2000 celica gt-s 6 speed also my first new car and we both were in college studying engineering and playing/dreaming about what we would do if we had more money for mods. Living the dream through you now. The car scene was so different back then and most people have no idea what it was like but you def do and it’s another reason I love these vids. Awesome work.
Yo, it takes us back to a different time. The hang outs and meet ups, just cruising together, so much fun. I just bought a 99 Civic Hatch i'm building with my sons.
Team Ghast it was so different. I remember going to HOT IMPORT NIGHTS in Atlantic City and Philly. I went to a show every Wednesday night as well after class. Awesome memories.
This is like a 2005 flashback for me. Comptech references and all :) I've had 4 fujitsubo exhaust over the years. They are great, fantastic welds and certainly not overpowering or loud. Great choice.
17:02 A tip, when braking put the ball of your foot on the whole pedal, not just the edge of the pedal. That's the best way to do it, especially during heavy brake use.
I think I actually prefer the look of the WS2. You’ll most likely get more grunt out of the toda headers than the Megan headers which might give you the sound you want.
I think that Apex'i muffler is chambered hence why it's so quiet. The Skunk2 from before and the Fujitsubo are probably both straight through. Also, I think the heat shield applies to the rear bumper cut out to help keep it from possibly melting.
Love what you're doing, and I like how you make your edits literally like hanging out. I'm very excited to see what choices you plan with the B18C, are you getting the 4.4 or 4.7 Final Drive? plans to upgrade? Might I suggest, with money really not being an issue, the possibility of a WaveTrac 1.5 Differential (Best Technology, Transferrable Lifetime Warranty), and upgrading to a 4.9 Final Drive? Have you considered a smaller width Wheel & Tire set up? 15x6.5 with RE71R would out perform any other tire right now (in that width) and with a lighter wheel and tire, your future of Spoon calipers and 2 piece rotors, the lighter battery (possibly lighter hood since the door was painted), matched to a 4.9 Final drive.... The weight added from sound system and dynomat keeps rear planted I bet, and with that new suspension set up car will be Boss (It already is). It's literally never been done, The haters are quiet now, LOL Edit: Are you going OEM Wrinkle Red Valve Cover? or will you keep the OEM Wrinkle Black? Most people would go Red, I would too if it was a legit JDM B18C, but black looks very clean and classic. Cheers.
I wish I was still on the route that had me picking up your orders. It was cool meeting the guys at Obsessed....even though y'all always filled my truck up
Let it break in before you change it again. You need to drive the car with the exhaust. Allow the exhaust to get up to temp and cool . The sound will change it just takes time. A test pipe will help also.
The k-tuned shifter is a thing of beauty you don’t feel like you have to have the ghetto lean to shift gears. It comes in super helpful when shifting around the track. You can still put a boot on to take away from the sticking out look. Ps... when you come to your senses and get rid of those horrible spoon stick ons I’ll trade you my mirrors for those RE-30s 🤪😉
After that downpipe change and cat delete, it might be chucking the old exhausts on seeing as it looked pretty painless and check what their new sound is. You might be pleasantly surprised
Your car definitely has tilt steering wheel. It's on the left side under the column. Lever goes down, you can angle the wheel, then lever back up to lock.
Had a skunk2 on my em1 as well. It was awful. Apexi WS is subtle. Interested to see how the complete exhaust system works out. I currently have an RMF header, 2.5” high flow cat and Hytech twin loop cat back on my ITR. Also a CT Engineering ice box. Springs on stock dampers is a fail. H&R and Koni Yellow ride a lot better. I would suggest adding ITR steering rack to the list if it’s not already in the works.
The B18C is going to change the tone Js Racing or toda racing exhaust might give you sound you want but if you add the header and a test pipe to those candidates it’s drone city. The fujitsubo might be the winner in the end once you hear it opened up with the header, test pipe, and B18C added to it. Great content as usual sir
Seeing the rear suspension there while working on the rear muffler made me think about the rear lower control arms. Any chance you got suspension for the Integra Type R? The stock Civic LCA’s are super weak and janky stamped steel. Type R rear LCA’s are much beefier C-section arms, with the eyelet and bushing on the bottom of the rear shocks. A worthwhile upgrade over the weak stock junk.
Do you still have any parts left over, I’m getting an EM 1 ready for my sons first car. I know I’m about a min late finding your videos but I’m hooked now!👍
Matt just curious why you didn't consider a J's Racing exhaust. If you did consider it I didn't hear you talk about it. It is the best sounding b series exhaust I have heard recently.
Door was repainted? That is super shady if the seller did not mention that. I wonder if it was in an accident... Look how clean that undercarriage is... jesus. Matt might be a good idea to wear some eye protection. That dropped pipe really could have did some damage had it hit you in the eyes. The edge on some of those parts can be very sharp. I don’t like wearing eye protection myself, but have had one to many close calls. The suspension you are planning sounds nuts. Keep up the good work.
I’ve had my Em1 for over a year now and finally getting around to doing to mods. I am going for the same exhaust setup you did with this one. Who did you order your Fujitsubo exhaust from if you don’t mind me asking.
When the b18c goes in the exhaust will liven up a little bit from the extra volume of air moved. That's what I experienced with a thermal exhaust system and same swap.
My build is a lower budget but very similar in feel to Matt's with mine starting with a 42k mile car. I have ZERO regrets going with a JDM b18c type R with trans. I have a 97 spec with 4.4 fd. I pull away from anything that originally came with a K20 or 24 EASILY. I would like to do a 4.7 fd but with 97 gearing vs 98 gearing, but it is 100% not needed.
Depending on what you plan for the car would dictate what motor to use. B18c would be period correct, k would be newer and faster but k series trans are not as good as B imo, for a budget build or bang for buck not needing the bling factor I would b20v all day and pocket all the extra money, while walking a b18c
Hello Matt,I m Benny,I saw your you tube , replace fujitubo RM01A exhaust in Honda EM1,can you tell me where can find a new one set RM01A exhaust, thank you so much

Can we talk about the reflection coming from the bonnet when he’s driving the Honda?? That sh*t is beautiful!
Nathan Crook I looked at it all the time when he’s driving I don’t know why. It’s just so so nice.
Had a full Fujitsubo Legalis R with header on my old 02 Altezza it was such a fantastic exhaust not too loud and not too quiet was perfect.
The build keeps getting better and better keep it up the honda bros will be proud
This is a seriously cool build.. never thought I'd be so excited to watch a civic build Lol.. love it.

I don't understand why you go through all these stages when John at LHT can easily do a very high quality titanium full system.
Yeah really. That Ti twin loop setup on the turbo Integra project was bonkers!
The twin loop he does is insane good and sounds pretty tame as well
Exactly

i have a Fujitsubo power getter on my dc5r and its pretty good, quiet but well made and sounds excellent
I think I actually prefer the look of the WS2. You’ll most likely get more grunt out of the toda headers than the Megan headers which might give you the sound you want.
I Want to See a Pic with the 3 Blue Cars. Porsche, M3 and the Civic.
The exhaust will get deeper and louder once you install the toda header and straight pipe. If you order another exhaust do the Mugen twin-loop
I think that Apex'i muffler is chambered hence why it's so quiet. The Skunk2 from before and the Fujitsubo are probably both straight through. Also, I think the heat shield applies to the rear bumper cut out to help keep it from possibly melting.
I had the Greddy Ti - C exhaust back when I had my EM1. Loved the way it sounded.
Until you remove the test pipe most exhausts are relatively quiet. I’m my opinion you should be doing these tests with no cat.

You can always get a circuit hero shift extender or do a flp shifter available from jhp.

I wish I had the money to trial an error many different upgrades to see what you like best , this car is coming out awesome
could be wrong but maybe the heat shield piece would go inside of the bracket on the muffler to stop the metal on metal rattle maybe lol

The Lisle hanger tool is much better then the chincy snap on unit. Ive had the SO ones break a few times. The Lisle is cheaper and beefier

that hanger was an optional piece you should of left it out what gives you the best tone is the wobble hahaha matt you are the man yoo

That's cool, you going to LHT big Honda place, they love doing the super chargers 👌 to Honda s2000
Little Honda bros check!
I’m quite sure that muffler has a silencer on the end of it does it not? Matt could make it a bit louder just by removing it
Love the channel and content. By chance is the car give away still on or is it over?

You can reduce the amount of times you have to turn the wheel by getting a close ratio steering rack, like from Quaife.co.uk
The apexi exhaust looks and sound better.
Sounds like you’re just over the whole exhaust setup thing lol. Ready to move onto the swap right?
I remember my first time and it wasn’t this bad.
