Great video guys !!! The things We really need to understand is that : * Your knuckles are a secondary! * Your palms are a primary! The power that you get from each determines largely on what you are hitting and how you are hitting that area. ( Soft on hard / hard on soft ) *Your knuckles are like a bullet and very precise, but will shatter when they hit something hard like a bone. *Your palms are like a cannonball Very powerful and will spread that power over a large area and destroy anything in it's path !!
Really great tips, I am a fan of hitting someone in the face with your handpalms because for once you dont do that lots of damage compared to a bare knuckle hit and secondly your chances of breaking your hand again compared to a fist hit is drastically lower.
Thank you for teaching and encouraging directed restraint in action. From a moral defensive view of self defense of “minimal force required to stop stop the threat” (which I take out of civilian firearms defensive philosophy), and the potential for legal backlash from going overboard. That being said, I’ve seen a number of educational beat downs on Active Self Protection, Gracie Breakdown, and on your fight assessment videos as well. Well done. Thanks
Reasonable force is a major implication for self defence here in the UK. In most circumstances (excluding being attacked by weapons) it would be considered unreasonable force here. Thanks for watching.
Great video . Stay away from the eye unless you can articulate serious bodily harm or death . Eyes can explode and you could be looking at a mayhem type of charge . Very serious . The intent of the threat will determine whether an eye gouge is justified . You should still know that it is an option and you should still train for the moment of necessity
Life or death situation? Eye gouge is perfectly acceptable IMO, even if it only makes him close his eye or eyes for a few seconds. It may make him turn his head away or lift his head up exposing his throat or side of neck for strikes. This is of course once again a life or death situation.
My grandad is completely right wow. He told me because his dad was a policeman when growing up and kids tried to bully him because of it, he told me his epic combo, palm to the jaw kick to the bollocks and knee to the face. He said he'd "Knock their lights out". Love that man!
Good video, im training a handful of fighters, and we train to end the fight within 10 seconds, using brute force, power, aggression, ferocity but most importantly the element of surprise. Literally go from 0 to 100, and end the fight. That first strike must be landed with the intention of it ending the fight, instantly. If they're unlucky and fight carries on, they have 9 seconds to end it. With eye gougibg etc, in a life and death situation, anything goes. Their eye, or your life. You decide, NOW! END IT. Boom. Its all over. RIP eye....
. Don't forget, you (could) do a thumb knuckle (where the thumb tip presses on the side of the index finger, so the thumb sticks up) - this can be done on the temple, or above the eye. You can also do an elbow into the eye socket (difficult to do) or a palm strike (maybe the air pressure will do some damage with the palm strike). - also an upward chop to the underside of the nose. - you can also grab the ear (but that's nasty)
In a life or death situation there would be nothing off of the table in my perspective. Breaking fingers, gouging eyes...as Master Wong says "rip the nut...no more sexy time". Sometimes you just have to do what you have to do to survive.
@@adamzoubi96 the number of documented cases of eye gouges successfully resolving violent encounters compared to say... punches, kicks, slams or chokes.
Of course it's not common, it's a technical strike. No one normal does this, only trained people. And trained people are very few, they tend not to get into fights and they know the fight is not over until it's over for sure.
As an ex rugby player I can tell you from personal experience there is nothing more terrifying than feel someones dirty finger fish hooking your eye. Just totally paralyses you for a moment and then all your focus will shift to getting that digit clear of your eye as fast as possible.
Turdus McFlurdus I dread to think.... Why anyone would want to do something like that in a sport is WAY beyond me!! In all honesty I think they should lose all their fingers and thumbs, or rather just their whole hand as punishment for doing something like that. Let them suffer by living with stumps for arms forever.
Dude just to jaw from the side preferably (to tilt the head) Or jab/cross to the nose it pops the head back and causes a lot of pain Or open palm to the dome You are looking to KO the person not put your thumb in his eyes or whatever Also body shots ( liver shot/ splar plexus) are great and safe for your knuckles But you might put yourself in a place where you can be countered
I also have tooth scars on my knuckles. Ironicaly the smallest cut got infected and the dr was considering removing my index and middle fingers. Thank the gods for antibiotics, which luckily worked and they were able reconstruct the knuckles instead. Needless to say I am a big fan of palm stikes ever since.
At 2:35 striking on the eyes is good when on womens perspective when they’re being attacked and attacker puts them on the floor or has them against on the wall etc the eye the perfect place to strike in an attack
I think if its a life or death situation, you need to do whatever it takes. Whether you're gouging out eyes or biting fingers or whatever. If it's just a fight, even if its self defense, its probably a bad idea for legal reasons and also because it escalates the fight, meaning if you try to gouge their eye out n fail, they could repay the favour
I would only ask one question, how many streetfights have you been in, and contrary to popular opinion, a lot of streetfighters are actually quite skilled, a lesson I learnt 50 odd years ago, when I was 11.
Ye life or death situation in which you were not the antagonist means no holds barred as far as I'm concerned. If its gonna end it quicker to take the eye out then posthaste. Might not always be the case, perhaps it more useful as leverage sometimes, but most of the time the quickest way to end the fight after it's started is to do so much damage so quickly that they rout. Even just relentless assault displays confidence in your ability and a total lack of willingness to back down, intimidating the opponent to the point where only a few will have the grit to see the fight through till the end. And those who do have are at the very least hindered by damage incurred.
Rooroo92 He can't just say hello!!! He's a professional ASS WHOOPER!!! He whoop ASS 24/7 And only stops to give ASS WHOOPING instructions. Then when the video over he goes right back to WHOOPING the nearest ass!!! LMAO!!!!
I will definitely pop someone's eye out if I must. I would rather survive gauging someone's eye out than died proudly knowing I fought clean. I'm not afraid of pain or death, but I'm certainly not going to let pride or fair play be my death.
Best thing is always to avoid violence. I'm definitely willing to hurt someone if I need to, but I'd certainly do anything I can to not have to. Communication can go a long way. Just remember, there's no such thing as a one punch knockout, so keep punching. Might also consider taking some martial arts, TH-cam can teach plenty of technique but you'd be hard pressed learn to apply it for real without proper instruction.
I'm really really not a fan of the eye gouge either but would obviously still use it as a last resort in a life or death lethal force situation. Like if someone had a knife or something or someone wanted to kidnap me and take me to a second location. I also saw another similar one Sifu where you'd go to palm strike the nose and on contact you'd quickly extend your fingers at the eyes making the head go backwards. It wasn't a gouge as such, more like a poke.
Fight SCIENCE Agreed, I would never do it unless they tried to do it to me/or any of the situations above happened. I hate the move and it's just horrible and gory..
What's the point of pressing the fingers against the eyes? If you want to prevent someone from shooting people, you have to try to insert the finger between the eye and it's socket (or do equally nasty sh!t).
So i just punched a guys on his left jaw..i have never punched anyone before and i did it with all my force. I am a girl and i punched a guy. Can anyone tell me if it hurts to be punched in the either side of the jaw. Plzzzz anyone

very nice comment. Drawed my attention to something i hadn't yet realised.
In this sense, I was thinking about a palm strike on the forehead. Would that be effective ? What effects would render?
your teachings are amazing i liked it so much

Agreed!
I have no moral or ethical objection to the eye gouge, but statistically it's just not a fight ender.
What statistic are you talking about ??

great video thank you sir!
Perfect as always !!!!!!
Thank u for the useful although they don't get that many views.Really appreciate ur help
doesn't get many views cause only the masters come to watch ;D
Wow fighting lessons from the Rock himself
Very good explanations and good points! :)
But why not gauge the eye in a life or death situation? Some specific reason?
Shugenjya problem with eye gauge is if u do that, chances are they are going to do it as well...!!!!

Eye gouge is the first thing i think of when it comes to real fights. It will end fights with bears, sharks, tigers, lions… it will end human fights.

That's the problem with punching in a street fight for self defence. It's best to have an alternative. Glad your hand was alright in the end.

Attacking someone's eyes is a big deal. Considering most people fight out of ego, rather than to protect their lives, it's unnecessary.
