I know you are probably joking, but Bob is a great help. I'm not able to lift a tank that size anymore, a quick call to Bob and he was there to help. Plus he loaded up all the wood from the shipping crate to re-use for projects at his place.
I really enjoy watching when Dean is around. He is such a great guy, so calm, chilled out, a real helpful handyman and looks like a great friend to you Cory. Enjoy these vlogs and loving that you’re doing more of them. I left a message on the live stream to say congratulations on hitting the 1 million milestone but couldn’t stay around to watch. Which was a bummer for me but hope you all had fun celebrating 🎉
03:50 you have an harness you can get for lifting heavy stuff. you strap it on and it rest on the shoulders and upper back thus saving your lower back, you only have one
Sacramento Aquarium Society meetings are the first Saturday of the month! We would be over the moon happy to have you come by. We are having our big "Findig" 06/22 and 06/23!
Hey Cory, I would love to see a video demonstrating different flow rates in an aquarium using dye or something of the sort. I sometimes struggle knowing what is truly “low flow” or “high flow” as well as how the dynamics of flow change depending on hardscape and plants. Thank you!
I have considered this as well. Just need to find a good way to display it. I'm sure with some practice and different colors of dye, I could make something, emptying the aquarium each time.
Here I am watching the Easy Flow Sponge in this video, having just set up mine yesterday. It works exactly as described but the crazy part is that it actually looks kind of cool in my Mbuna tank.
"When you apply newer technologies to what has been done in the past" Cory this is something really cool and unique about your approach to developing aquarium equipment. Thanks so much for sharing your practical curiosity!
Should've put the sprayer valve in the front and the sprayer closer to the wall. That way your faucet can swivel 180°. The way you guys installed it us the reason why it can swing over as far.
South Coast Tropical Fish Society would be honored to have you visit us! We have a few great clubs in the region that are a hop - skip- and a jump away from us too!
So sorry to hear the passing of Murphy. My Dad while he could still get out, would gladly drive up from Puyallup to see him. He was a great ambassador and awesome fish.
Ok! So they basically give you enough wood to make a diy stand for the 125g. Nice! Actually after watching the video the stand is basically made after you take the tank out of it and add a couple more supports and reuse all the screws that came off of the ply your golden. lol😅
Lookin good Cory! I really liked your Germany visit. The hot well with exotic fish was super cool to see. Even better than the Israel breeding facility although that was pretty cool too. There is a float valve that you could attatch to your fill hose so it auto shuts off and you dont overflow the tank youre filling. Its a bell float valve just make a pvc "hook" and attatch the float valve to the other end. I use them on pond auto fills cause a toad cant jump on the float in the strainer basket and let the water run.
Thank you for the new videos! I’m a little demoralized about the hobby right now, because my new tank just got ich as I was in the middle of cycling it. Tested my parameters: no ammonia, nitrate, or nitrite in the water. Thanks to your instructions, I was able to start dosing Ich-X and it was working well. Day 3 however, after having the worst day at work, I just looked at my tank to find the heater cracked and close to letting in water (saw bubbling coming from the crack). I immediately unplugged it, but now my cherry barbs will be without a heater for nearly 24 hours before I can go exchange this barely week old heater. This also means I won’t be able to dose Ich-x today due to the tap water significantly dropping the water temp, and having to do a water change before this next dose. Frustrating times, but I know I owe it to those adorable little cherry barbs to keep them alive. I’m trying!
I just recently got the large Easy Flow Sponge Filter and absolutely love it, If i had any complaint at all is i wish the base was a bit heavier because with a strong flow it leans backwards with the force of the water
Would love to see you make a stop in Colorado! Colorado Aquarium society and Rocky mountain cichlid association would be great clubs to talk at. So thrilled that About Fish is an affiliate store now!
Interpet used to do air driven outside filters in two sizes. I remember having them as a 70's kid in Ireland. They weren't great but were better than the standard air driven internal box filters.
I have an airlift trickle filter... Just because I love trickle filters and I Don't like using multiple power plugs for water pumps.... So I used an airlift for my trickle filter
Any excuse to have Dean on is fine by me. Your man(family) cave is coming along. When both of you bounce ideas off each other = a learning experience for us. I 'm a type of person that if the hardware/diy store is out of a product that I'm after, I then walk the isles wondering what other item I can retro fit to make it work, but at same time look like a pro job. And not a duct tape job.
Could you please make a video on best practices for Bala sharks? I know they’re deceptively difficult and common in pet stores so I’d like to hear your advice and suggestions. Thank you.
You should post an affiliate link for that chair! You sold me on it! Lol Btw, brilliant! I Love that train of thought, learn from the past, apply the present, create the future!
@@AquariumCoop very nice! You are the man, I was lamenting on your channel with another hobbyist IRL today, love what you do for the hobby. And my new seating situation!
I've had a tank arrive broken last year! But a Juwel Rio is well available so they delivered a new one the next week. But it really sucks when these shipments go wrong!
Hello I was watching Deans commercial with the sponge filter. I have a 5 gallon desktop aquarium that has a depth of 5 1/2 inches deep on top of the gravel. I was wondering if you have a sponge filter that I can use? Thanks.
I have a 3 gallon nano shrimp tank. Even with the smallest setup of tubing on the new nano easy flow sponge filter I ended up having to cut the first tube a bit as it was too tall and hitting the glass aquarium cover. The tube is pretty thick plastic and didn't cut easily. I'll have to sand the cut end down so it doesn't hurt my shrimp. Hopefully it works out. I'm eager to try out the new easy flow sponge filter.
Rock on...! Thanks for sharing... Keep up your awesomeness...! ps: $1200 this week alone outta my 70+ tanks, with another load of guppies and mollies going today... Thanks again...

1000 chili rasboras!

A colony of shell dwellers (any species) and some type of top swimmer school
Mud skippers or some type of apisto
A nice group of Atabapo Altum angelfish.

Shoutout to Bob for coming over to lift the tank and then bailing 😂

@deansfishroom yes, definitely joking. Good to know Bob is on hand to help and got a little reward for helping out.
Oh I want Bob. He seems super helpful and nice.

Always a joy to see Dean loving to work on aquariums and talk fish with a smile. A true treasure to anyone who experiences it.
Dean is so fun to watch/listen to. This was a really enjoyable, entertaining video. I can’t wait to see what you do with the new tank. Thanks Cory.

There's a video on our product page on how to cut the parts down.
We need aquarium co-op fish supplies in EU badly, here in Ireland we do not have cool stuff like that sponge filter :)
If you really want to, you might be able to built the cabinet for under one of those mostly with just the wood from the shipping.
Where can you get the Trout Goodieds in Canada? coolest livebearer ever

I would definitely buy that Betta Plakat Neon sign if ACO made those to sell.
Cory, you used to have Blue eyed livebearers in the fish room? Still have them? Any idea where to find some? Thanks
Heard Dean is going to speak at the SAS meeting in AZ. soon.
I steal my kids old gaming/computer chairs for my fish room. I've only got 3 tanks. but the computer chairs are awesome lol

Nice. All good.
So when is the "Live Aquarium Plants" sign going to retail? We want it in our fish rooms too!
