Allan ahead of the game, as usual. At any given point in his career you will notice that his playing comes from 35 years on. Everyone is trying to sound like metal fatigue Allan today, but the man never settled. Here he was in 2012 making sounds from 2059 with those glorious Yamaha Magicstomps. This is what amazes me the most about Allan. He was leagues ahead with no intent of leaving breadcrumbs

´rything said about Allan, and I still would say: Unbelievable genius who stick to his guns for his whole life. He could`ve earn a deacent salary as a hired gun, or cont. jazz, but he kept his vision playing for pizza.

That’s the thing, with regard to his passion in playing what he envisioned, never settling , he was a rock. As a human, he was a kind soul, always so nice to fans who approached him and kind, so down to earth. May his reward in eternity make up for the things he suffered with on this earth and may he be recognized for his unbelievable talent and hard work.

No doubt. Talk about the ultimate power trio lol.
And no kidding about Mr. Donati; he's long since joined the ranks of Cobham/Williams/White etc for a long while...he's fucking supernatural on that kit.

    • @TheFissionchips

@@TheFissionchips I can't really disagree LOL...I revere a lot of drummers but Virgil is at the top right now IMHO, until another innovater arrives on the scene. Not to mention his body of work as a composer. I honestly he's surpassed Cobham in the regard, as much as I love me some Billy LOL

I just love the humility of Allan, visually he could look like some hayseed in a grunge rock band...and then you hear him play!! Music that spans across the universe , incorporating sounds and chords from prehistoric tectonic movements to things to come far in the future...

Hours ago I listened to Beyonce, Justin Timberlake, and Bruno Mars. But still sir Allan's playing is still make sense to me and even more comprehensible with the venue and statues in the background. Great footage!
