Thank you for this video!! I have been interested in the cell shading style for models for a while, and I haven't really found anything about painting *physical* models that have been interesting AND informative... Yours has hit the nail on the head! Plus, who doesn't love Turtle Power?! :) ❤❤😊
You do amazing work my dude, waited for this tutorial since I started watching you! I can’t wait till you have the time to become a pro cell shading artist! Don’t sleep on this talent, his discord is amazing!
They look awesome. I have 2 of those printed and have been sitting for over 2 months now. I was gonna wait to do them all at once. But wicked just keeps throwing cool shit at me. So they keep going to the back burner.
@TheCreativeCollector Thanks for the reply 🙏 I've been watching your videos for a while, but first-time commenting. You're very talented and make the process look so simple ✨️ I've actually considered picking up the $99 resin printer that you showcased. It almost feels like a gateway to the rabbit hole for a new hobby 🤣 Just out of curiosity, would you consider selling the TMNT? DM if interested ✌️😎
DUDE this is awesome. I always wanted to do cell shading on some models and figures i have but didnt have a good understanding. Now i do thank you so much and keep up the great work i appreciate what you do
It turned out great! This is just my opinion, because the cell shading was done throughout the characters their faces needed some work to match the other parts. Maybe just adding the darker green along the edges and curvature of the noses may have made the faces not so flat. Other than that you did an amazing job.
Dude!! I am making these myself. I've just completed my first proper paint on the Leonardo one and he turned out so much better that I could ever do it. People love it! But this is what I've really wanted to do!! Cell shading on a turtle. Thanks for making this video. I'll definitely be following this video and giving it a go. Great job as always!
The biggest part for me was trusting the process and getting all my paints out in a base mid an d highlight and at first it's scary but damn it looks awesome. Well done brother.
Wow these look great. I have the same 3d files but when I print them out they have a rather pitted skin effect... did you do something special to yours? When I look at the 3D file close up that "rough" skin surface seems to be in the file.
Yeah there cool!! Wasn't to sure at the start but yeah definitely brings a 2D cartoon to 3D its weird like not ment to be but it is lol i need to print these one's next! Im doing the Power Rangers just now way start painting the Green ranger today while the white ranger is printing
Those turned out really well, think they would look great in a full diorama too. What color did you use as the base color for their chest/stomach area?
Dumb question, but I'm trying to get a knack of this painting thing. How much paint do you put on the brush? Load it up and spread it out over the piece? Or a small amount?
That's a subjective question really. When I'm doing fine details then it's minimal paint on the brush. If I'm doing a large part then I'll load the brush a little more. Once you start then you'll eventually get the idea of how much you need. Not a dumb question at all.
damn dude nice work, I have tried doing the cel shaded look in the past with no success, its very hard to pull off with all the different shading and highlights, the colors has to match especially the different shades or something would look off, and plus I mix my own colors and that is the hardest part of the process, so after my catastrophic failure I didn't want to venture out of my comfort zone again, but with this great educational video, I feel confident enough to try again, but I am not that confident to try it on a different body shape so I think in the future I will follow your video step by step on the same exact figure.
Hi mate I've got Leo and Raph printed 2 more to print but went back and got the Rocksteady and Bebop the new Casey Jones just went up this week it's amazing! Sherder I got aswell but have seen a better looking one on PREY I think it was on cults same with spliner but what I was wanting to tell you is I come across 2 PUNISHER TURTLE'S! one is just sooo damb cool it's gotta be done! There are more just stopped at the second one but on Cults 3D under "PUNISHER TURTLE".I know you like both aswell might be a cool project!
That cell shading is beautiful man keep up the good work ! Do you do this as a hobby or a job if you don’t mind me asking? Want to start up my own 3D printing business, just haven’t had time due to my current job, want to definitely sacrifice time to do the 3d printing, it’s my dream to sculpt figures and sell them to people, I appreciate your drive on these videos brother 👍
Anycubic Photon M5 - Hollow tips: Hello again, I have the Anycubic Photon M5, and I tried to do a statue as well. I tried the hollow out the statue as recommend, however, the next day it cracked open. Can you please tell me what settings are you using to print out your action figures? I don't know which setting would be a good setting for thickness, without making the walls too thin. I am also more paranoid now, since that statue cracked, that I may be doing something wrong. any and all help/recommendations, are greatly appreciated. Thank you
Try 1.8mm thickness for the hollowing and make sure you clean all of the resin out. That's the main reason why prints crack like that....leaving uncured resin inside.
Awesome job man. You got me into this kind of printing, so thank you. Curious question how much resin does a 1/4 take on average? Currently working on the hulk bust from wicked right now
where did you get this figures????? they look amazing! Sorry if you mentioend it on the video Im watching while at work and I dont ahve the sound on lol

Like very mutch the result for a first time cel shading work. Do the ThunderCats from the same Turtles creator.............but not in cel shading mode 😛
Are these resin prints? They look far too clean at the start to be FDM 😮 unless you sanded/primer prior to recording, or im blind and missed their early stages at the start of the video.
@@TheCreativeCollector wasn’t sure :) I’ve seen people take sanding + filler/primer to the next level and it looks just as good as a resin print. Anyway, fantastic job and I envy your skills! Hoping to replicate this soon :) thanks so much for sharing.
When shading you need to choose where light is hitting them from. You shouldnt have the brightest color right next to the darkest parts which is all im seeing here
This was a different experience for me than what I'm used to. Plus i wanted something different. So next time I do this let's have you on so we can show how to do it correctly.

Dude this paint job is absolutely amazing they look fantastic.
RADICAL! The turtles look like they just walked right out of a comic book, excellent painting!
A beautiful painting and figures, great work 😎
And I love to see a Marvel BlackCat on your video. So awesome.
OMG you read my mind... I wanted to do these in black and white like the original comic.
Ok love that painting technique

Great video, they look like they jumped right out of the pages of a comic book, I love it!!!
Thanks!
I love the way they pop!!! They have a real 2D look from every angle. Amazing as always!!!
Thank you! Cheers!
If your ever worried about which turtles is which color bandana just paint them all red, they will still be comic accurate
Awesome, I love TMNT as a kid. So awesome. Love the work you did. Will have to try it someday when im good enough
Awesome job, those turtles look like comic characters, congrats!!!
Nailed it!! Love the look. Great job.
Absolutely stunning
Thank you so much!
excelent work, i like the end result, celshaded effects give them uniqueness
Thank you very much!

omg, now i have to try cell shading, amazing work!
Amazing work!
Your steps of making this awesome statue really helped me learn how to recreate this style on my 3d print
Glad to hear that
Thanks for the great video. You keep stepping up and knocking it out of the park!
I appreciate that!
Amazing, color choices are spot on.
Cowabunga Dude!!! These are EPIC! I really enjoy all your content, keep doing what your doing brother man,
Glad you like them!

Amazing job.... This I just may try.
Totally "Tubular" work on the brothers! XD keep up the awesome content!
argghh don't be doing this. now I have to try this haha. in seriousness this is phenomenal. top stuff man
Wow brother! They came out really good 👌👍can't wait to do something like that!
Fantastic work as ever Henry. Thank you for sharing 👍
AWESOME!!!

Man, these came out so good! Top notch work!
Thanks a lot!
You sir deserve a sub, I really want to get into 3d printing stuff and this video has peaked my interest!
Awesome, thank you!
In the beginning, I thought it gone be to exaggerated, BUT, at the end, turn out to be very consistent and energetic.
looks so cool
Thanks!
I hope Dave Rapoza has been credited as the influence for the design of these models. Clearly based on his art.
I credited the artist who designed them. So maybe the designer credited him. I don't know
Its dope, but I would add a little black in the faces to tie it in a bit more...all together Its awesome!!!
The biggest part for me was trusting the process and getting all my paints out in a base mid an d highlight and at first it's scary but damn it looks awesome. Well done brother.
Amazing work, brother (as usual!) I never gave cell shading any consideration until now. I have these models - I may try them both ways. Very cool!
I just started printing the base for Leo not sure how im going to paint them yet but these look amazing dude
That looks really cool, sometimes I could not tell if I was looking at a sculpt or a flat picture!! 👍😎
Very cool result. I agree that this is kind of a different take on cel shade but this set is absolutely killer. Great job.
Great work - i have a shelf just right for those if you are struggling to fit them anywhere suitable :D
Sensacional 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I love your work…I’d love to know what paint brushes you use…thanks in advance
These look great, the only thing I can think of to make it look better is some cross hatching to give it that comic vibe. Just my opinion 😅
Nina turtles are the best!!! My cel shading turned out so bad compared to yours haha. Great work!!
Thank you! Cheers!
Wish there was a love button. Mikey is my favorite turtle. Great work man.
Thank you so much 😀

Hi Henry, Did you use the pre supported files from LA figures, or did you do your own support?
I used auto supports in Chitubox.
What scale did you print them at? Excellent job
1/6
Ok thank you. I bought the Leonardo but haven't had the chance to print it yet. I didn't know if I would have to scale it up or not.

Yes. Increased it to 150%
