Elvis ALWAYS sang naturally, from the day he began in the early '50's until the day he died in 1977 & it always came naturally -- that was Elvis -- no matter the year, no matter the venue, no matter the song. Not a thing from him was "put on" or "forced." He was so comfortable on stage that for this song "Burning Love" in 1972 Greensboro, NC he held a lyric sheet & told the audience it's a new song & may goof it up but will get it right. No other singer in the history of singing would do that on stage in front of thousands of people. He was always nervous prior to going on stage because as he said, "every time it's a new audience." But once he got out there it was probably more comfortable than being anywhere else. He was the real deal, even when flubbing a line he just sailed right along as if nothing happened -- he was that smooth, & i'm not so sure he would want to get too involved w-technology. At any rate, he absolutely did not in any way need any help whatsoever -- just one of the many things that made him more amazing than anyone.

Elvis was 38 in this performance, so it’s nice to hear you say he was young. Just four years away from when the world lost him. I always enjoy watching his Aloha concert, & yes it’s wonderful that we have so much Elvis content on TH-cam. So wonderful. I enjoyed your video. Elvis fans will always find him, even if it takes a little while, but this video was just posted a month ago, so that’s not bad. Thanks.

He was not ONLY singing to THIS audience, this was broadcast via satellite "WORLD WIDE". Broadcast to over 40 countries with an estimated 1.5 BILLION viewership. More people tuned into this concert then they did for the moon landing. A record which is still unbroken over 50 YEARS later!!! Truly, the King of Entertainment!!! Watched it in 1973 😉

That southern sound, lead bass, drums provide the rhythm, lead guitar fills the gaps, and the rhythm guitar blends it all together and the piano adds the spark.

Elvis was a natural musician. He had a good ear for what he wanted from his musicians and back up singers. He was at his element when he started in Vegas. He was able to hire his musicians and backup singers. He produced the arrangements. Lauren, Elvis left us a huge and even after 47 yrs after his death he is still the king. His fans love him, are loyal and defend him fiercely. I love your objectivity and unbiased reactions but haven’t heard you say how beautiful and sexy he was. Watch “Love me tender” 1970, his movie “ That how it is” from Vegas.

Elvis's favorite music to sing was Gospel music, a song he made into his own is "How Great Thou Art", he believed every word of that song and the way he sang it gives you chills, the best vocals he did on this song was on his last concert in June of 1977, even though he was very ill and in pain, he gave it his all until the end of that show, very powerful performance, check it out, thank you. 😢

New subscriber; here for your Elvis content. A few other performances from this concert if you've not yet reacted to them: "Never Been To Spain;" "Steamroller Blues;" "You Gave Me A Mountain;" and "American Trilogy." As an aside, with respect to vocal coaching, the only coaching Elvis ever got was while he was in the service. He asked his close friend, Charlie Hodges who was also a professional singer to show him what techniques he (Charlie) used for holding his notes longer & to get a fuller sound at the high end of his vocal register. Thanks for your reaction; really enjoyed it.

in order to be the king of music, you need to be able to write music. Since Elvis only had an IQ of less than 70, he was lucky enough to be able to tie his own shoe laces.

A fan since 1956 Elvis was a natural talent never auto tuned never enhanced and he had a much higher voice than people know. In a rehearsal vid in 1970 he effortlessly sings the Lord's prayer without accompaniment sailing through the last high note. Both Opera singers Mario Lanza and Pavarotti, remarked on the beauty and strength Elvis had. Thanks for your great reaction

Would you mind reviewing his 1968 comeback special performance of "If I Can Dream", by Elvis, which at the time was deaing with the Vietnam War, and the passing of both Bobby Kennedy and Martin Luther King and civil rights at the time. The song was powerful and truly highlighted these issues! Thanks!

How Great Thou Art 1977 version
Elvis might not look good because it was his last concert
But his voice is so incredible

It's very emotional seeing Elvis towards the end of his life
Elvis sings with so much emotion
    It's like
    Elvis is saying to God
    I'm ready to go home
Elvis knew he was towards the end of his life
But he gave the best performance ever
Elvis had a God given talent

Hi, I subbed because of Elvis and Elvis never had a voice lesson in his life, he actually failed Music class in Hume's high school, wonder what happened to the music teacher v, cause ELVIS is still here and that is forever and Always TCB 1935, just a little bit of info , Elvis grew up in the Poverty of Tupelo Ms and he was a searcher even then, he would watch the older black men playing with the guitar or whatever they came up with and he soaked up the knowledge as well as growing up in a Baptist Church with his beautiful mama and Daddy and he sang with the choir as a young boy, he never needed a voice lesson Elvis is a Priceless Gift from God and thank God for blessing us for just a little while cause he still gives so much of himself 47yrs later and to all of us ELVIS family around the World, this is a time in which The World Stopped, as least for me, I really never look forward to this time in the History of the world, cause We Lost an angel that tragic day. Thank you for the great reaction my

I always love your reactions, especially those of the King! Elvis lost 25 pounds in advance of this special. If you go back and watch some of his 1972 footage, he at times, while not fat by today's standards, looks a bit puffy and pasty from the frequent touring, lack of sleep and likely poor diet. My favorite Elvis performances come from 1970. He's much more lively and really looks to be at his physical peak. I would HIGHLY recommend a review of his 1970 live performance from Vegas of "Bridge Over Troubled Water". His voice is so dynamic and the musical arrangement by the band and backups is phenomenal!

IF I CAN DREAM - Elvis Presley --- Personal tribute to DR Martin Luther King and Robert Kennedy after they were assassinated. During the race riots of the late 1960s... Elvis took heat for singing this. Threatened to be sued by NBC advertisers, Elvis wanted to speak to a mourning nation --- so he sang it anyway.

th-cam.com/video/EKHVtJcG3Is/w-d-xo.htmlsi=rZ95P7Soe6Uee8sk This is Peace In The Valley, a short, sweet gospel song sung live in 1956 from the Ed Sullivan Show. He was barely 21, and was already showing smoothness and comfort in singing. Another reactor, a vocal coach, mentioned his shoulders and how they were always relaxed while he was singing. He did have coaching in voice and acting, I'm sure mostly to refine and polish and help him with control and techniques. Everyone thought he was very talented and could go far in movies and music. He was the original all-purpose, multi-media superstar! His first 4 movies were great.
The next 27, highly debated. To be fair, he had more really good ones than bad ones. The same with the accompanying songs and soundtracks.
