I loved midtown when I visited 2 years ago from London. I stayed in Atlantic Station ❤. The weather in October was amazing, it was perfect lol never forget it. I cant wait to return
How are the interiors of the condos at Colony Square? They are older, but probably have more space than the newer condo developments, I would think. And great location.
And has something happened to the little shopping mall over the north entrance to the North Avenue Marta Station? Or is it that you have only ever used the grungy south entrance off the street? We used to be able to get just about everything we needed in the mall - even convenience store groceries. And there's an escalator directly from the mall down to the station. Best, if only shopping of all Marta stations at the time.
Interiors in that building will vary but the couple that I've toured there are kinda strange floor plans and I have found bathrooms to be small/dark with no windows. Kitchens are more closed off. Kind of gives me vibes of being in a hotel. But you are right - good location.
@@stevegavigan8124 There isn't any shopping mall by the North Ave Marta station. I didn't know there used to be one. How long ago did you live in Atlanta?
@@AllAboutLivingInAtlanta 1981-1985 at Georgia Tech. There was a pedestrian tunnel from Tech to Midtown under the connector along 3rd Street, which I believe is barricaded for safety concerns now. But at 3rd and West P'tree was a corner building that housed the parking garage for what at that time was the BellSouth Building (now Tower Square). It had retail on the West Peachtree Street elevation, designed like a mall with interior corridors and retail on either side. Toward the middle was the north entrance to the station with escalators down to the transit platform level. (I just looked at Google Street View at 696 West Peachtree Street, and it looks like the building has been renovated and seems vacant. A sign on the street view pic reads Level 1 - MARTA; Level 2 - Planet Fitness, Five Iron Golf, and Future Shops. So hopefully shopping available there in the future. Sorry to hear about Colony Square condos. They look good from the plaza/square.
I watched this video last night. I'm glad I did. I'll try to keep my focus on condos north of 5th Street. But did you mean even south of North Street? There are a couple of condos right next to Renaissance Park that look very good on Zillow. They're across the street from a dog park on one side and Publix on the other. They're close to Fox Theater, Planet Fitness (I'm a member), and MARTA. And they're just a little over a mile to Piedmont Park and even closer to Ponce City Market and the Beltline. So, since the two I see listed now are $210K and $265K, is that telling me it's not a great neighborhood?
I'm 61 now, and when I was a student at Georgia Tech in the early 1980s, "not put together" would have been the most flattering way to have described all of midtown except for the few blocks containing Colony Square / Woodruff Arts Center. Past success of course is no guarantee of future success, but I'm sure there are many investors from back then who are happy they bought in when they did.
Ww have a Townhouse on Mecaslin, in Atlantic Station. We used to be able to sit on our balcony and watch the Georgia Tech Baseball Diamond. They've rained it with a monstrosity of an Apartment complex. If it was up to me I'd sell and move location's.
Yeah, there are def a lot of apartments over there now. I was just driving around Peachtree Corners the other day and noticed this giant apartment complex in the most strange spot. They just throw them up wherever!

I've seen a couple of condos listed at 1101 Juniper, and 195 14th Street that look very nice. Maybe I'll stick to that area.
I owe you an email response! I keep meaning to do so and I keep getting side-tracked. Will do that now!

@@stevegavigan8124 yeah, from what I hear Midtown now is not the Midtown back in the 80's!
