If you think about how much efforts Atlus put in Minako character, it's a damn shame they really almost forgot about her as a character.
Her characterisation is surprisingly layered for a gender change, compared to Makoto "I'm sad, leave me alone"

@@Hymn_ i LOVE the p3 movie, sure it doesn't work great as a standalone movie, but when you played p3fes and watched the movie, seeing MC expression feel so good and actually seeing him having a character development make him feel so human rather than seeing him as "us".

Regarding the fact that Minako seems more cheerful than Makoto/Minato in the game, a lot of people have a theory that Minako is the same as Makoto/Minato and she just hides her depression and negativity under a brave face to make other people happy, something that actual people with depression tend to do.
tbf that's probably true. a lot of anime characters that are depressed sometimes tend ti br cheerful. Brook from one piece is one of the example of it.
And yet they say FeMC ruin the theme of the game

It’s quite obvious that Makoto (or Minato) is visibly sad compared to his female version, that if you try to be positive in the lines you have to pick when talking to someone, you can imagine how extremely forced it delivers.😭💙
... My headcanon is that they're both depressed, still. They just show it in different ways. Makoto grew distant from his emotions and pushed others away, while Kotone put on a happy face and pretends she isn't dying inside.
Or maybe she truly is just trying her best and is happy. But she still has no problem with putting what looks like a gun up to her head and pulling the trigger. And in the movies, Makoto had no problem with it because he was depressed.
... This is all just my headcanon. Maybe she is truly just a happy person. Makoto in the movies had to push aside his coldness and actually open his heart to these people, which made his sacrifice even more heartbreaking. But with Kotone, if she's already friendly with them, then it doesn't have the same emotional impact. It's still sad, obviously. I just feel it's not as sad. But if she was only acting happy, then they'd have to push past that and get her to reveal her actual emotions, which would make her sacrifice more meaningful.
I want Persona 3 movies with Femc. Or at least for them to put Femc in some more things. Why wasn't she in Persona 3 Dancing? It was a spinoff rhythm game, and they still couldn't bother to put her in it. Her songs are in it. Theodore is in both Persona 3 Dancing and Persona 5 Dancing, I believe. So why isn't Femc in anything? Most she got was being in Persona Q2. Which was a fun game. But she still deserves more.
... What was this about? Oh, right. My headcanon for Persona 3 Portable. Uh... Nobody read this far down, right? Why would you? Seems like a waste of time. Sorry if you did.

@@giahuynguyenkim6389 Yes, I know. I just don't remember it being mentioned in game at any point. Then again, I never actually beat Persona 3 Portable with the Femc. I tried, but my game broke and it won't allow me to play it anymore.
I love that all the male party members are super protective of FeMC. Meanwhile her battle theme declares without any reservations “I’m not a princess, not a cutie girlfriend, oh no.”

Society will still treat her a certain way even if they have good intentions just because she’s a girl. I think it’s interesting that is the reason why she developed an outgoing personality with her depressions. Because if she was gloomy like makoto more people would pester her about it
6:30 not to mention it gives a bit more tragedy to her passing at the end of the game where he lives but his lover dies in his place. It’s one of the few times where I felt the “butterfly effect” that her route was supposed to focus on really stood out. It makes me wish we saw a continuation of the timeline where Shinji lives but he has a bit of survivors guilt where he feels like he killed FeMC or something.

yea but i think the survivor guilt is worse on Aki imo. basically he lost his sisters, his best friend bed ridden and his girlfriend he swore to protect and cherished is dead plus he forgot about her until the last moment of her life. damn
@@cinnabar_ I mean, technically he doesn't forget about FeMC at all if you actually completed his social link and ar in a relationship with him. He'd forget about SEES, like everyone else, but before they regained their memories he still remembered FeMC and everything they did together + their relationship (SEES + Tartarus moments exluced), but hell- it still hurts to know he's bound to lose everyone, especially Shinji because he isn't going to live long even if he only ends up in a coma.

About the love hotel scene, you can actually see Junpei out from the shower instead of Akihiko, _woah there._
The only way you can trigger Junpei's scene is to literally not bring protein boy along obviously. And when you do, Junpei gets sorta embarrassed about it, _teases you_ and then regrets what happened.
I'll always pick the Akihiko route though :)
FEMC made me love the characters through all the social links, I appreciate Junpei even if people call him a jerk.

I did 2 runs of P3 Portable with blind and all social links one. On blind I choose Junpei for hotel cause he needed some exp unlike Akihiko aaaand well I saw that scene

Things I noticed on my FeMC runs:
1) Yukari is the best friend character, not Junpei. I like that detail, gives the run all that more uniqueness.
2) I think Kotone has a crush on Shinji WAY before he has one on her.
3) You can meet Yukiko and stay at the Amagi Inn
4) The dialogue and aesthetic feels different due to be in a female (Junpei's "She can't lead, she's a girl" dialogue, the unique social links you get with her, not to mention how she even has her own unique weapon type)
5) Kinda hot, not gonna lie
6) her bubbly personality which compliments P3's tone (with her being so energetic and fun despite all the depressing things going on around her)
7) Some 7th thing i missed because i forgot
If P5 had a FeMC option, Ann should be the best friend character instead of Ryuji
8) The beautiful connection he has with Ryoji ^^
You can try to attack another girl (but are stopped) after they slap your friend in their SL. Always pick it. Kotone is an action girl who doesn't let a slap on her friends go unanswered!
I think BOTH Junpei and Yukari are best friends for FeMC.
Sure Junpei had the whole ‘disdain towards the MC’ but his Social Link proves that he’s her best friend too.

Headcanon: in P3P if you romance Shinji, and he's alive at the end, he's the one who becomes the fool arcana in the answer.

Btw even if they do that, I believe it will still be Aigis because even if you're a girl, Aigis makes the goal of her life to protect you while she is living. Shinjiro understands what it's to part ways with someone so he'll just not mess up with the past.
The best thing about FemC route is Akihiko being ready to trow hands with Ken over FemC

I'm moderately new to the Persona series and I first came across FeMC in Q2. Here, I just expected her to be relatively quiet and the like, but then during that police dress-up moment in Q2 and she goes 'Oh, pick me! Pick me!', I was just like 'Wuuuhut? Who am I getting myself into?' Not a bad thing by the way, just surprised me.
She's cute.

FeMC is best girl indeed.
And I have a confession regarding Ken: When I first played P3P, I didn't know Ken was a romance option and I ended my first playthrough dating nobody. Then I did NG+ and...I dated all of them. Including Ken... Because...I was curious. And a part of me back then didn't know it was that big of a deal.
I do have something to say about Ken, he's surprisingly mature for his age. And hearing him say all that stuff was odd but interesting to say the least. And I'm one of the only few people who never hated him as a character. For me, he's a decent character.
He's a good and rather realistic character, just like Yukari, people give him shit because they don't want realism in their characters and/or they don't blindly suck up to the MC or other characters at all times.
@@moonsys which is odd because all of the SEES members in P3 feel real with how well they are implemented in the story. They’re definitely one of my top casts ever, but not the best- Xenoblade 1 will probably never be dethroned of that honor.

@@weedleisopcute3626 Ken is 10-11. Sumire and Futaba, the youngest Romance options in P5 are 15. Meanwhile Femc is 17 and Joker is 16. Femc is straight up a groomer.
Yeah I've only played p3 and I don't get all the hate for Ken. I actually like him a lot as a character. He is, in my opinion, one of the most well-written one. I find his backstory more engaging to pay attention to then Akihiko's, idk why. I always see him more like a little brother who sometimes acts too mature for his age while being oblivious at the same time. It's adorable. And, probably not a popular opinion, but if there was The Answer for the femc route, I think Ken would be Aigis' replacement. I mean, come on, he's already lost two of the most important women in his life, one being his mother and the other was his crush he knew he would never have a chance to be with in the first place cause of their age gap

Yes, Shinji is the best social link in P3P without question, fite me (I'd say Koromaru, but he just misses it).
Now that P3P is being ported to modern platforms I can finally play as FEMC, and as Akihiko said, "I've been waiting for this!"

It's not romantic with Koromaru wtf, but I believe FEMC is superior against Door-kun for the single fact that she gets to have a social link with every team member (and she doesn't have to fall in the hell of forced harem...even if most female players are pretty thristy for the boys).

She's awesome. I remember some people didn't really like her at first cuz of the changes to the story and themes but I think it had a lot of great things about it with some of it's new themes displayed. Also I prefer her social links more than P3MC haha.

FemC is better than MC, he's just such an Emo Turd, and FemC is a fun protag. Also the chance to save Shinji is nice. The one time i played P3P i was FemC and i was 1 day too late to save Shinji, and i hadn't effectively rotated my saves enough to make it feasible enough to make things right. It was an interesting dynamic.

Ah a fellow comrade eh? Nice, nice. She is actually one of the best female protagonists in my opinion. Yes, you may not have full freedom of choices and these said choices don't really affect any future interactions or her personality but playing as her, made me feel like l was a schoolgirl but also a leader. Never ever have l felt with such a protagonist. She really has style that really stands out from any other competition, and she doesn't even speak nor you see her 3D in non-combat locations, impressive indeed. More games need this, a proper female protagonist focus, no eye candy, cute but also badass female protagonist, preferably with full customization
