- Paul Whitehouse as Rowley Birkin QC from the Fast Show. Rowley is always drunk, talks nonsense and is apparently inspired by a nice chap called Andrew Rollo, who Paul Whitehouse met on a fishing trip to Iceland.
The Fast Show (‘Brilliant’ in the USA) is a BBC comedy show that ran from 1994 to 1997. There were also a couple of specials.
The show was created by Paul Whitehouse and Charlie Higson.
They both performed in the series and were supported by: Simon Day, Mark Williams, John Thomson, Arabella Weir and Caroline Aherne (RIP). Other significant cast members included Felix Dexter (RIP), Paul Shearer, Rhys Thomas, Jeff Harding, Maria McErlane, Eryl Maynard, Colin McFarlane and Donna Ewin.
Retrospectively sums up the complete dross in our legal system.
This sounds uncannily like Boris Johnson, though of course he didn't come to prominence until years later.
