I SERIOUSLY FELL IN LOVE with Sally Phillips because of her work here. Talk about exquisitely beautiful loveliness. And her humor-smile.... Nice cheekbones.
If you like her voice, check out the Radio 4 comedy series 'Clare in the Community'. Sally stars, and IMO it is one of the best comedy series out there.
watching this because my mrs just bought me back a chocolate orange reduced to 79p becasue the box has superficial damage and reminded me of watching this as a kid 😂
I have just watched her in the last series of trollied and it's the worst thing she has ever done. Fist of fun and Alan partridge and smack the pony all are are very funny. All from the 90,s and obviously what with her being quite young in them.
Coogan is a legend to me, I think he is such an interesting and talented chap, a diverse range of acting talents and comedy writing too, would share a beer with him anytime.
He is still under rated for some bizarre reason? They will look back in years to come and fully realise what an amazing contribution he gave to british comedy.
@@kneeenaw4- are you sure. In an interview about her apparent unscripted laughing she said it was pretty much all acting - which for me makes it even better.
Strange - the actual TV show with Alan Patridge I found pretty dull and unfunny but when they switched to Alan Partridge's life outside the TV show it became one of the funniest shows ever.
Definitely higher quality scripts. I think with "knowing me knowing you" they were still finding their feet somewhat. This series has the added plot of Alan being fully shown up for the fairly pathetic failure he is and it gives them more to work with.
KMKY had a few good moments but some of the interview ideas seemed a bit weak. The same actors playing the various characters didn't help. But I also found that series two of Alan in his caravan wasn't as good as season one and yes, I do have the boxed-set. To be fair, I did get the idea for a movie marathon from Alan. This weekend its films of the 1960s. BILLY LIAR BLOW UP A FISTFUL OF DOLLARS A KIND OF LOVING A FEW DOLLARS MORE WHISTLE DOWN THE WIND THE GOOD THE BAD AND THE UGLY THIS SPORTING LIFE etc....
My sister and brother in law bought me a dark chocolate orange for Christmas. They scuffed up the box in honour of this scene! In fact, they bought the chocolate orange in the first place because of this scene.
The brunette is really fit. I don't remember her being that fit. Funny how getting old makes so many young women seem so much fitter than they would be if you were the same age.
Well that's a v Alan P to say .anal retentive observational skills !! Actually it ain't it's sally or Sophie acting laughing at his feeble wank social skills .lol
Every single line in this series is quotable, absolute genius! For instance, what is he talking about when he says "never gonna use them, never gonna use them"?
I heard Alan and Armando talking bout Sally's work, aparently she had book full of notes on Sophie, her laughing was so good people were complaining because they thought she was just corpsing on camera.
She is great but do NOT EVER be fooled by these actresses Nick ! I once went behind the scenes to see Lisa Goddard in The Kelly Monteith Show in 1982 over 37 years ago and I learned a valuable life lesson about Women. They were rehearsing as I knew someone at The BBC and I watched through a private screen. He cracked a joke and she laughed, htsterically at his wit and humour but the SPLIT SECOND they said " CUT!" her face instantly froze all thru' the rehearsal this happened..
Sally Phillips was absolutely stunning in this role
Comic timing genius

Never gets old no matter how many times i watch it.
Sally Philips had me crying with laughter. Brilliant actress.
Alan Partridge is just PURE CLASS.
Best character ever. I wonder where Ricky Gervais got the personality of David Brent from......

Sophie's scenes are brilliant. She's a great actress.
She's not called Sophie
Oooh id like to have it off with her!
@NowForTheTruth about as much as I care... I can't even remember writing it and it was only 2 months ago.
She's really good as the PM of Finland in Veep too.
I was just thinking about how underrated she is, and here's the top comment
"they're all damaged" 🤣
Comedy gold. Fantastic writing, great casting and brilliant acting.

Susan's gorgeous ❤
She really is. Check her out in 'Knowing Me Knowing You.. With Alan Partridge' when she is in a swimsuit!
I wish this was still on,Give us a 3rd series you shit 😂😂
Jimi glimmer yeah give us a 3rd series ya shit!!!!
they finally listened! (lol) BBC released a statement that the new series airs end of 2018 or beginning of 2019. 😄

Lovely stuff! (Not my words, Alison, the words of Shakin' Stevens).
I like to administer shower gel, the way Alan does with the small soaps, during my deep shower. It makes me chuckle anyway.
In the top three shows of all time, IMO, along with Fawlty Towers and Blackadder.
Don't forget Father Ted!!

Agreed. The incest joke is such rapid fire hilarity.

Looking at this scene it's hard to believe there's just a 4 years age difference between the actors who play Alan and Sophie..
Quality.
Remember though that Coogan at this point was made up to look older than he was. He'd only have been in his early 30s, Partridge is meant to be older.
