Tbh the old one was done more menacingly, The live action one doesn't give me that much of an impact because in the old Lion King the VILLAIN is feeling genuine fear before his death.. It always gives me chills
I find the second one darker - the first one it could have just been the hyenas killing Scar as payback for his betrayal, not necessarily to eat him, but the second one shows they definitely did!

The way I see it is the hyena aren't "evil". At the beginning, the hyenas just didn't like Simba coming into their home and talking all big. (They even stated hyenas and lions have always fought, and they didn't like the king for that reason.) But Scar's deal to never let them go hungry led them to help kill Mufasa, but Scar lied then blame them. Otherwise, they wouldn't have participated in all that. They actually wanted to eat Scar at first.
The Hyenas are pragmatists, they aren't evil and have always upheld the rivalry between Lions and Hyenas. Had Scar not convinced them in the deal to never let them go hungry again, they might've just killed Scar there. It was inevitable they'd turn, they outlived eachother's usefulness after Mufasa died.
Idk which is more terrifying and more brutal, the original, or the remake He tried to fight back in the remake, and he begged in the original Also, I often wonder what happened to the hyenas in the original, I mean we know what happens to scar but what about the hyenas. @@kerbalscuffedprogram4705 yeah cos the look on Scar's face from 0:17-0:19 made it quite obvious he was about to die. What's crazy is if Scar had JUST ONE other full grown, male lion to help him, he could easily have lived to see another day, if not squad-wiping the hyenas. That just goes to show how much Scar did himself in.
In live-action version, even though Mufasa came to the hyenas alone, the hyenas were either scared or not ready. The whole pack managed to feast on one injured lion that were too injured to fight back (like when Scar fell from heights).
They feared Mufasa, they knew they wouldn’t have defeated him especially when Shenzi stated that he was too powerful. Here’s a not so fun fact about hyenas, courtesy of Casual Geographic. When attacking prey, hyenas will typically run down their prey, sometimes running several miles in the process. Once the hyenas catch up with the prey, one of the first things they do is bite the limbs of the prey (something that the hyenas can be seen, very briefly of course, doing to Scar in the 2019 live action version of the Lion King) This is so the prey crumples to the ground faster. Hyenas will also go for the walnuts of the prey if the prey happens to be male. After the walnuts are removed (and possibly eaten) the hyenas will literally disembowel the prey alive, ripping out the organs. This of course is fatal, with the prey animal dying of either shock, massive blood loss, or both. Thank goodness the camera pans up and away from the hyenas as they tear Scar to pieces. If it hadn’t, the Lion King would definitely be rated PG 13.
Believed it or not, this is how Gaston was originally going to die. He would have survived his fall from the Beast's Castle only to be killed by the same wolves that attacked Maurice and Belle. I guess they scrapped it and gave it to Scar because apparently seeing Hyenas tear a lion apart was much less dark than seeing Wolves kill a human.
The hyenas may not have ever liked Scar to begin with. The fact that this was the first/only time he ever truly wronged them, and their first reaction was to kill and eat him speaks volumes 😂
Fun Fact if you didn’t know: this was originally supposed to be Gaston’s Death from Beauty and The Beast he would have survived his fall from the castle after his battle with Beast with a broken leg only to be confronted by the wolves that Maurice and Belle was chased by and get eaten alive but it was cut for being too gruesome so it was saved for Scar.

He only say that to torment them and use reverse psychology he only called them his friends to put on a innocent persona but reality he never cared about them get them so many broken promises and made them starve to death with the food chain was leaving the pride ring pride rock
Scar is mean
@@gabbieofive2232 scar always been mean and plus he never kept his promise to the hyenas he let them starve to death because all the food chain was leaving he threw his own brother over the bus and his nephew because their father chose Mufasa as king of the pride rock
Mufasa did not deserve to get thrown under the bus and So his son Simba as well Simba never did nothing to his uncle but unconditionally love him
I get what you're saying first Scar tricked Simba into thinking that he had a surprise for him & then once his father died he blamed him for it & now he wants everybody to believe him when he knows he's lying & he's not innocent cause if he was he wouldn't do that to his own brother that's that's my opinion
Perfect example of the price of betrayal
Love the, albeit disturbing, detail that you can hear the hyenas biting into Scar's flesh in the remake
And if you listen out for it, you can hear his screams of pain, despair and agony.
I like both the original and remake versions of Scar's Deaths.
Same here!!
Same.
I like to think of this as a reality check, as the lions generally view hyenas as scavengers due to how baron their land (the Elephant Graveyard) is, but Scar learns that the angry hyenas aren't full-on scavengers... they're predators.
If I learned one thing about Scar's death, it is that you should never make a promise that you can't keep otherwise, it will come back to haunt you in the future especially if you planned to betray that person and they overhear it.

A Hyenas Belly is Never Full
The live action version was better, more brutal, scar actually fought back (gotta give credit where it due)
@Peter Hanson i really enjoyed the remake but yeah there’s flaws
It wasn't live action. The entire movie was all cgi.
@Daniel Le because they had a reason to
@@BloodandSoil990 you know what i mean, the realistic-cgi
@Daniel Le
They weren't trying to attack Mufasa they were defending themselves and I like how Mufasa says Shenzi's name in this version it's proven here that he knew her at one point.
The live action is not better than the original but they made the death way more gruesome having scar actually screaming and us seeing some of the hyenas eating scar alive
And it’s rated PG
Actually one of the darkest moments that I found a bit graphic than expected for a PG film. I even found Scar’s death quite as dark as Shere Khan’s death in the 2016 film.
FATALITY!
The Hyenas Wins
Flawless Victory
1:58 bro lasted for 6 seconds😂
Unbeknownst to Janja, Scar was secretly planning to double-cross him so that he wouldn’t join forces with Jasiri and the Pride Landers.
Yea well he did
Considering hyenas, like canids and bears, tend to eat their prey alive.
Scar felt ever single bite, all the while being burned alive.
1: Original
2: Live On Stage
3: In Real Life
The live action version did it way better. We were actually able to see the hyenas jump on him before killing him, and scar actually fought back!
1:59 yep. But, scar didn’t fight for the original at 0:30.
That doesn't necessarily make it better.
You could even see Scar at least Take one down and then that’s when they pounce and go savage and bloodthirsty on him.
Tbh the old one was done more menacingly,
The live action one doesn't give me that much of an impact because in the old Lion King the VILLAIN is feeling genuine fear before his death..
It always gives me chills
@@killadrillThat's a matter of opinion dude
I find the second one darker - the first one it could have just been the hyenas killing Scar as payback for his betrayal, not necessarily to eat him, but the second one shows they definitely did!

POV your friends after you told the math teacher about the homework

And I think The Hyenas were just waiting for a reason to kill Scar…..
Idk which is more terrifying and more brutal, the original, or the remake
He tried to fight back in the remake, and he begged in the original
Also, I often wonder what happened to the hyenas in the original, I mean we know what happens to scar but what about the hyenas. Do they all die from the fire or do they leave and never come back after killing scar?
The remake death sounds more brutal as you even hear the crunches 😬 😱

@@kerbalscuffedprogram4705 yeah cos the look on Scar's face from 0:17-0:19 made it quite obvious he was about to die. Scar deserved to die for many reasons
1: He murdered Mufusa just to take the throne
2: He blamed Simba for Mufusa's death and tried to kill him (both failed as Simba got away from the hyenas and he learned the cold hearted truth years later)
3: He assaulted Sarabi because her hunting party weren't doing their job and he didn't care if anyone was gonna die or not (mainly because the pride lands were desecrated and there was no food nor water and the herds had to leave)
4: He blamed the hyenas for murdering Mufusa (he only did it to save his own skin) but this backfired on him when they killed him.

2019 Scar Death Is the scariest
I research how many numbers of Hyenas is needed to take down or kill a 1 fully-grown male Lion and I saw a lot of articles saying it needs only 9-10 Hyenas to kill a Lion. And watching this last scene that has more than 10 Hyenas is too much for Scar.
Edited since the 4-5 Hyenas is for a Lioness
Less. 5-6 hyenas are needed for a male adult lion and 4-5 for females. Hyenas are not that weak.
It was at 0:18 Scar knew that he messed up with he threw the hyena trio under the bus to Simba.

What's crazy is if Scar had JUST ONE other full grown, male lion to help him, he could easily have lived to see another day, if not squad-wiping the hyenas. That just goes to show how much Scar did himself in.

This part had me going for because I believe Scar was infected and killed by Zombie Hyenas!
Interesting
Well. They were basically starving.
Because of the eyes? They were hangry
Simply put, they are all zombie hyenas!
Only difference between him and scar is that Scar was never intimidating nor powerful to them, he just bargained with them and they just listened to him because of what they gained from him being king
