Overall, I prefer the 2019 death with the hyenas being more serious than the 1994 version.

Jeez the 2019 version is more gruesome than the 1994 version because you actually see him get eaten alive and the sounds of the hyenas literally chewing his flesh, oh and fun fact hyenas usually go for the crotch before eating their prey so yeah have fun with that.

Forget being ate by Hyeanas, if I hear a pack of Hyeanas laughing, I’m jumping straight in the fire.

Scar was all bones what good did the Hyeanas get out of him.

Shenzi: There’s only one true thing you ever said Scar: A hyena’s belly is never full. Say what you want about the live-action but this line here is so satisfying for me personally. That one time Scar spoke the truth. And it came back to bite him in the most gruesome and satisfying way😈

I like how he actually fights back in the live action

Ok the live action version of this scene is pretty good, and a little more disturbing with them briefly showing Scar getting mauled and him screaming to death.

Fun Fact if you didn’t know: this was originally supposed to be Gaston’s Death from Beauty and The Beast he would have survived his fall from the castle after his battle with Beast with a broken leg only to be confronted by the wolves that Maurice and Belle was chased by and get eaten alive but it was cut for being too gruesome so it was saved for Scar.

I like how the newer one at least have scar fight back on the hyenas a lil

I find the second one darker - the first one it could have just been the hyenas killing Scar as payback for his betrayal, not necessarily to eat him, but the second one shows they definitely did!

I’m not gonna lie this scene always makes me tremendously scared 😱 to death 💀 when I was a child.

It was at 0:18 Scar knew that he messed up with he threw the hyena trio under the bus to Simba. Ed’s crazy sinister laugh 🤣 though.

The original Scar fared a little worse because not only was he devoured, he was also consumed by flames, the betrayal was also more painful for the hyenas, due to the fact that they saw him as a friend and leader, in the live action only an ally for convenience

Scar was never meant to be king anyway. He brought all of this upon himself.

The way Shenzi sneers as she says “There’s only one true thing you ever said Scar. A hyenas belly is never full.” Is both chilling and scary!

Say what you will about the remake, but Scar's death is done really well.

I like to think of this as a reality check, as the lions generally view hyenas as scavengers due to how baron their land (the Elephant Graveyard) is, but Scar learns that the angry hyenas aren't full-on scavengers... they're predators.

If I learned one thing about Scar's death, it is that you should never make a promise that you can't keep otherwise, it will come back to haunt you in the future especially if you planned to betray that person and they overhear it.
