I have never worked on a set bath taps with that much space before and esp when u can look at what your doing normally it blind with tap spanner and a hours worth or feffing and jeffing
Today I learned what the red washers are for that have been included with every faucet set I bought for the last 40 years. I’ve never seen hard copper going to a sink before … here in Southern California, Everything … is done by flex hose.
@@andyd2528 I’m not an engineer and was not aware of rubber incompatibility with vibrations. I will eliminate all rubber and flexible materials from all water connections from now on. Thank you for the free advice! (I sure hope an earthquake never happens again…🥹)
@tech5298 Ideally flexible hosed should be connected to a flat m/f fitting . The bottom of the tap has a sharp rather than flat edge. Hence vibration bites into the rubber. We rarely get earthquakes in Lancashire ,England. I've been doing this job 42 years and most leaks I find are on rubber seals. (Not the type that clap and eat fish).
@@andyd2528 I know exactly what you mean by the flat fitting. I see them from time to time or I noticed them from time to time, so I know exactly what you’re talking about. I think we had an earthquake a couple of days ago I never even noticed it, and I certainly didn’t pay much attention to it when somebody mentioned it to me . I see lots of flexible hoses that have leaking fittings and I have a special labor price for replacing those washers for washing machines versus replacing the entire hose which I always recommend for my clients. I once had a hand crank with a honing stone on it for a really small washbasin faucet seats that could not be removed. I only used it once, so I know exactly what you’re saying about that raised edge where the rubber seats.
@@tech5298 Luckily we don't many earthquakes in England. Our highest is probably about 2.5. But I've been telling people about this for years and in the main they've thought I'd lost my marbles. Water moves , it causes friction and vibration. This is one of the things they don't teach apprentices in college. At least you get it , even if nobody else does. Thanks for that. Hey. I can only explain it for people. I can't understand it for them 😂😂.
When am i going to get taps that are this easy to change??!!! Last bath taps i changed i had to lay on my side then slide along the floor between the bath and the toilet then press my face against the wall. Then i had to undo the feeds with will power and tears.
@@MJ-ce6tvwhat’s the point of using a top hat on a tap that’s the same size as the hole. I get it using a top hat when you’re using a 1/2” tap in a 3/4” hole but other than that I don’t see the advantage. Can you explain? Cheers.
Come on..really. I think this is one of those fake AI videos...😂😂😂 Loads of access. Nice clean pipes, no cobwebs (alright 1) No mould and can't see a dozen bricks or bits of random wood under there either. 😂 Tap nuts not seized, no signs of 20 years worth of silicone around everything. Just can't be real.....
The easiest bath tapa ever to change show one when you end up losing your knuckles
Loved it mate haha don’t happen much
Was going put exactly the same 😂😂 need have hands like Jeremy beadle get under most baths

😂
Is this British plumbing? What is this junk?
Been spoiled here with plenty of room to work in
Know right! Normally got a toilet in the bath of my head! Praise the lord for corner bath and taps in right place
Good job I know it’s not always as easy that’s a handy one but like the use of brass back nuts.
Nice access you have there.
Wish they were all like that 😊
Great job
Thanks mate
No swearing, no tool slipping, no catching of the fingers and all that room? Hollywood is so unrealistic
Hahaha so funny 😂
And the fittings come off so easy not stuck with ptfe or plumbers mate
If only the seals always came off like that 😂
I know right
Obviously hoping that the bath mixer threads are of the same lenght and pipework adjustment is required!
Yeah or the pipework below has play!
Wish they were all that easy😂
Me too!!
I would have used something to clean when replacing that fiber washer!
They came off nicely
All done, now to put the wall back behind the bath!😢
Put gloves on because the splinters from fibreglass hurt .
Also long sleeves as rubbing your arms onto the fibreglass causes itchy rash
I know mate always happens
99% of bath tap jobs will never be this easy 😂 Great for a demo tho 👍🏻
Whenever anyone asks, “what’s the worst plumbing job?”, I answer, in a heartbeat, “bath taps!”. However, this job looked a dream! 👍🏻
Now change one out that's been there for 20 + years with limited work space. xD
Haha I’ll film the next one
That overflow pipe is loss, normally is ABS ,is connected it to the drain
Never that easy, you must be in a plumbase showroom 😂👍😎
If only all bath taps were like that 😂😂😂
I know right!
it connects with hard copper not flexible lines (sorry new to the trade)
What camera do you use? Loads of great content 👌

Flex hoses are not ideal.
They have a rubber washer inside.
Water vibrates as it travels.
Rubber wears/bites through easier than fibre.

So much room for activities! Was that access already there or was the wall section cut out?
It’s a corner bath, took me an hour to remove the coloured plastic brittle bath panel mind!
@@mmplumber So that part probably took longer than the plumbing.
I haven't seen copper used like that since the 70s
Haha it the best way
U missed wire brushing the ends! 😅 sos i couldn't resist
Rarely do you have that much space when dealing with taps
Hey what size spanner is that? And where did you get it from?
32mm and just from Amazon mate.
Have you got one that does half an inch what size would that be?
Great job on the project 👏 👌 🙌 👍 💪 😀 👏 👌 🙌 👍 💪 😀 👏 👌 🙌 👍 💪 😀 👏 👌 🙌 👍 💪 😀 👏 👌 🙌 👍 💪 😀 👏 👌 🙌 👍 💪 😀 👏 👌 🙌 👍 💪 😀 👏 👌

Ahhhhhh as easy as a college training environment nothing in the way. All thats missing is a class mate to put you off.
Aren't ppr pipes better than copper pipes?
Put some pipe dope and some ptfen-
Job done ❤
Those threads were begging for some dope.
Accordion overflow drain...🪗🎶
Who wears a watch while working in this situation.
Nice when the access is like this🙄🤣
What do yous call those white plastic washers in England?
Top hat washers.

Eeerrrrrrr no pipe doughhhhh?? Don’t need pipe dough boooiiiiii

Haha uk pipework
Any reason the threads didnt get any tape or ptfe dope?

Absolutely never that easy, loads of space
Corner bath with taps facing me 👏
