My fellow Southerner, I respectfully ask to represent our kin more faithfully by spelling correctly.
yankees, with too ‘e’s is the correct spelling.
Also, the s in South should be capitalized, and the y should not be, for obvious reasons.

I’m in Alabama and these plantations put out thousands of pen raised birds at the beginning of the season and add to them along the way. I used to guide on a preserve. We put them out each day.

Great video. In addition to AL, south Georgia has a tremendous presence to plantation style quail hunting. I would say this, the coveys flushing in this video are pretty amazing. The plantation definitely put out a ton of birds for this shoot. I have never seen the abundance of birds for a plantation-style hunt. Usually you will see 4-8 birds per covey. This is closer to wild bird hunting from my experience. Great job guys! Enjoyed it.

I sure miss my Bob White quail hunting days in Central TX. Great hunting on Ft. Hood. Didnt even use dogs, unless 1 of dads buddies brought his along, but that was not often.
Lits of walking and brush busting but always got plenty of birds!!! This would be a blast.

Development & land use practices have greatly reduced quail in Alabama. They used to be everywhere. Not so much now. Turkeys are declining now too. We grow houses, factories & shopping centers now.

Pen-raised I'm guessing? Seems like they looked and acted a bit different from wild birds. Unfortunate that there's not the number of wild birds there was in the heyday of plantations, but hopefully Quail Forever can help fix that.

My GSP would swallow the quail, so I stopped shooting at them. The pheasants were too big. LOL.
