Hi guys......just gotta say iam Canadian my husband is a huge Salmon and Rainbow Trout fisherman and I had no idea how intense it could be when i first met him. After 33yrs of marriage and lots of fishing trips I can tell you we have watched someone get stabbed over a fishing spot he thought was his. Truly some crazy fishermen. My husband is very serious about it but not crazy lol. Jackson was adorable and clearly stoked. Shout out to the information and encouragement they gave him. Seem like a great group of guys. My favorite part about all the years of fishing is watching my husband teach our 3 children and then our son- in- law and over the past 12yrs our 3 grandson's in turn soon he will be taking our 2 little granddaughters I love watching him teach them. My Pit this week- dry heaving every morning cause of pregnancy. My pelvis is killing me where i cant walk or sit for very long. My peak is- sitting outside by the fire pit relaxing and not having an agenda. There is a million things i need to get done and i decided to put it on the back burner for once and just sit and enjoying the evening with a warm fire was beyond needed. Yep, bear hunting. I did an all women bear hunt in AK. I have the best summer sausage and pepperoni sticks. There were soooo many bear in the area, that we hunted for conservation reasons, as well as meat in the freezer for my family.
It's exhausting watching some of the other contend creators, because they seem like if they aren't doing something over the top that it's not good. Personally, I like the conversations of you and Zach and that you two are well grounded and talk about things that we are interested in and not over the top and just being real. I wish a lot of contend creators would just be real and down to earth. That's why I only watch and subscribe to certain youtube channels. My cat Bodhai Ash has his own instagram because I would just be posting him anyway, so I gave him the account to use. Yes he follows you both and this podcast!
Tori, your face when you realized people hunt bear. My husband killed his first bear in the mountains of Virginia while undergoing chemotherapy. He actually accomplished the Virginia Grand Slam, which is killing a big buck, a bear, a turkey, and a citation bass (award winning) all in the same year. He accomplished this while on chemotherapy for the most aggressive type of lung cancer. I honestly don’t know how he did it. Accept that he was the most determined person I have ever known. My son now is in charge of the Eastern Division Bear Foundation. They promote ethical, hunting of bear and promote conservation and work to keep the rules and laws fair for the hunters and the animals. If you don’t kill off some of the larger animals in the food chain, they don’t have enough to eat, can become sick and we could loose them all. It’s a delicate balance that hunters and legislators work hard to keep. 33:19

We live in Washington State. Fishing has always been a favorite thing to do. Fishing off the Columbia River is one of my fondest memories with my dad and brothers. There are so many places to fish. We camp in the Okanagan area and every time we find a different place to fish.
All the laws, rules, regulations, permits, licenses, etc. required for a lot of outdoor activities, has taken all the fun and relaxation, out of what used to be, exciting family trips back in the days..
Im 62, my husband loves hunting/fishing and I am going with him this year 🦌. It's the best meat to fill our freezer with ( plus all the fish he has caught this year 🎣) Fish on !
Listening to you talk about how much Jackson lives for fishing, it just makes me wish my husband could take him & Zach fishing at Crescent Lake right here in Washington State! My husband is an avid fisherman and has loved taking our four sons and 10 grandchildren fishing for many years. Now he takes kids & dads from our town fishing there every year and they have such fun & catch tons of trout! It's a trip of lifetime every time! Jackson would be in 7th Heaven! I wish you could look us up!
Tory, I'm with you on the hunting thing....especially bears. I don't eat salmon because of the circle of life. All the natural world need the salmon to survive....forest, birds, other mammals, seals, whales, etc., and there just isn't enough of it to go around, so I leave it for the wild things.

Messy is OK when you have three kids. I think I have a solution for the fish smell. Have you heard of a Lampe Berger? It will eliminate smells in a safe way. Unlike candles you don’t have to worry about burning down the house. It is decorative and you can choose your favorite scent. I come from a family of hunters and fisherman. I hate all of it, lol. Here in Michigan they allow you to hunt a certain amount of bear and you need to be chosen in a lottery to be able to get the license to hunt one. The guys in my family are all about it. My brother got one last year and his son got one this year. To each their own. Love you two and look foward to each week when a new episode drops.

I grew up fishing on a boat in the largest saltwater lake in australia BUT i LOOOOOVED catching shrimp (we call them prawns) more than catching fish... Soooo fun - in the boat at night time - getting home at 2am or something 👌They are soooo much easier to cook than fish too and sooooo yummy! 😍

So glad Jackson was able to experience that. And yes, there is also bear hunting in Minnesota. A very short season. And bear meat is very dry. Thank goodness my husband has never had an interest in that. Ick.
Super easy & my favorite recipe. Salmon Filet sprinkle with salt & pepper then cover with parmesean cheese, cut some pats of butter put on top and cook for 20 to 30 minutes in oven at 400. So good! I scrape the pan for all the crispies bits after it's done. Please try changed the salmon game.
Salmon is so good My husband grills on a small cookie sheet- he puts the salmon run with love , butter, honey and puts a foil top and it is so delicious
When someone likes to have a clean, neat, pretty, organized home, people who are slobs say you have OCD. It's their issue of messiness, clutter, hoarding, and disorganization that they can't acknowledge. Amy is like that too. You don't have OCD Tori...you create a beautiful clean home. ❤
I never cook fish in our house the smell after is too strong, no one can take it. BUT my husband grills it.. So yummy we all love it. Doesn’t hurt to try it 😁

Tori is not trying to rough an African Safari😂. I avoided Kenya because of the vaccination requirements too but South Africa is such an easy landing and beautiful country. Especially Capetown. Norwegian does an awesome cruise with day excursion to safari parks. Not like camping in the Serengeti but a wonderfully holiday.
Fishing is for life! I grew up fishing and so did my kids. We go out about 6am and fish to dark. From age 3-4 the kids are good to go! We take lunch on the boat and jump in the water for bathroom breaks 🙊 and yes, you can hunt and eat bear, moose etc You crack me up! What about the poor beef cattle. That live their whole life enclosed just to be butchered.

My son in law gets bear tags every year. He got a female bear with a bow, in 2021. He had it process into sausages which were used by our family for over a year. We live in North Idaho. His buddy won a lottery tag for a moose-a once in a lifetime kill- and he got one! I am not a hunter or hunting advocate but it is what humankind has been doing for millions of years. It’s a normal part of our deep brains drive to survive. So yep.. bears.!
Tori, come up north almost to the Grays Harbor Speedway to a town called Matlock for their annual Bear Stew. Bears need to be controlled, by keeping their numbers down. The licensing is what's keeping the down. The State of Washington keeps track of it.
I want the cup and sweatshirt! My dad goes Sam and fishing and they fillet it and then he put it in the freezer and taking it. You put it out and put it in the refrigerator on a cookie sheet and let it totally default and then you can cook it.
Here in New Jersey they have bear hunts. Definitely don’t have to hike out for hours out of civilization…black bears are all around same with deer hunts
I live in western Pennsylvania and we have black bear in our yard sometimes. They also get into your garage and cause a huge mess, and if you have bird feeders they will tear them apart to get the food. Yes we do hunt them and yes you do eat it. I don’t hunt but my family does.
Yup, you can hunt bear. I remember when I used to live in New Jersey. My stepbrother brought meat home. Wanting, me and my sister to guess What meat me we're eating? It was bear, it wasn't that bad.
I’ve eaten grizzly bear. My daughters Father in law who lives in AK is a hunter. And he killed a grizzly. They made the meat into sausage. It was pretty good because this bear had a berry diet. If the bear have fish diets the bear doesn’t taste good.

I have an awesome recipe for salmon that has actually gotten several of my friends to eat it but only if made the way I did for them. I think it's funny. You can bake the salmon and add seasoning like lemon and pepper. Very yummy. This trip looked so fun from your video.
So glad Jackson was able to experience that. And yes, there is also bear hunting in Minnesota. A very short season. And bear meat is very dry. Thank goodness my husband has never had an interest in that. Ick.
Super easy & my favorite recipe. Salmon Filet sprinkle with salt & pepper then cover with parmesean cheese, cut some pats of butter put on top and cook for 20 to 30 minutes in oven at 400. So good! I scrape the pan for all the crispies bits after it's done. Please try changed the salmon game.

Lol I live in Vermont, we hunt it all and eat whatever we get. Bear, moose, deer. If you kill it, you eat it.

My husband grills on a small cookie sheet- he puts the salmon run with love , butter, honey and puts a foil top and it is so delicious

Tori is not trying to rough an African Safari😂. I avoided Kenya because of the vaccination requirements too but South Africa is such an easy landing and beautiful country. Especially Capetown. Norwegian does an awesome cruise with day excursion to safari parks. Not like camping in the Serengeti but a wonderfully holiday.
Fishing is for life! I grew up fishing and so did my kids. We go out about 6am and fish to dark. From age 3-4 the kids are good to go! We take lunch on the boat and jump in the water for bathroom breaks 🙊 and yes, you can hunt and eat bear, moose etc You crack me up! What about the poor beef cattle. That live their whole life enclosed just to be butchered.

My son in law gets bear tags every year. He got a female bear with a bow, in 2021. He had it process into sausages which were used by our family for over a year. We live in North Idaho. His buddy won a lottery tag for a moose-a once in a lifetime kill- and he got one! I am not a hunter or hunting advocate but it is what humankind has been doing for millions of years. It’s a normal part of our deep brains drive to survive. So yep.. bears.!
Tori, come up north almost to the Grays Harbor Speedway to a town called Matlock for their annual Bear Stew. Bears need to be controlled, by keeping their numbers down. The licensing is what's keeping the down. The State of Washington keeps track of it.

My dad goes Sam and fishing and they fillet it and then he put it in the freezer and taking it. You put it out and put it in the refrigerator on a cookie sheet and let it totally default and then you can cook it.
Look up a recipe for salmon patties. kind of like a burgers. Yes you can eat bear. Camera hunting is fun and very calming.
Here in New Jersey they have bear hunts. Definitely don’t have to hike out for hours out of civilization…black bears are all around same with deer hunts
I live in western Pennsylvania and we have black bear in our yard sometimes. They also get into your garage and cause a huge mess, and if you have bird feeders they will tear them apart to get the food.

Yup, you can hunt bear. I remember when I used to live in New Jersey. My stepbrother brought meat home. Wanting, me and my sister to guess What meat me we're eating? It was bear, it wasn't that bad.
In Minnesota there is bear hunting and I have friends that do eat it. I am with you and I do not hunt.
I’ve eaten grizzly bear. My daughters Father in law who lives in AK is a hunter. And he killed a grizzly. They made the meat into sausage. It was pretty good because this bear had a berry diet. If the bear have fish diets the bear doesn’t taste good.
Yes, my brother gets an elk, deer, bear tag & eats them. Even a wolf tag this year.

I have an awesome recipe for salmon that has actually gotten several of my friends to eat it but only if made the way I did for them. I think it's funny. But it is extremely delicious if I do say so myself. Let me know, Tori, if you want the recipe to try. You do NOT want to waste salmon. It is the king of fresh water for a reason. Let me know.
