My little brother passed away a few weeks ago. We probably played this game together as kids like 7 or 8 times. Even this year in quarantine we almost finished it again. Listening to this brings back years and years of happy memories. He was starting to learn it on the piano before he died.
The cutscene where this plays made me so sad. At the beginning, Zelda is just a normal girl, Link's friend, who he spends almost half the game looking for because he cares about her and wants to make sure she's alright. When he finally finds her, so much has changed, they are now saddled with the great burden of destiny, and now she must sleep for millennia. What gets me the most about this moment that things can never go back to the way they were. Those happy days of flying with each other and living in the academy will never come back, they will never just be Link and Zelda anymore. This song reminds me of how painful it is to grow up and accept your destiny, that things will change with the passing of time, and your childhood will not last forever.
True my friend. Nonetheless, at the end of the game, even if Zelda now understands her roll as a goddess and Link as her destiny-bound knight, she says that she’s still Zelda, the daughter of her father and Link’s best friend. Of course things will never be the way they were, but change is not always a sorrowful thing to see, each stage comes with its own beauty -like a tree in summer, autumn, winter, spring, and summer again- and the very end the game makes you understand this; their happiness was never linked to their role as goddess and knight, but rather it was a consequence of their decision when they decided to live below the clouds and stay together. It even amazes me that these specific decisions were what ultimately lead to the creation of Hyrule and pass the blood of the goddess and the spirit of the hero to their offspring in order to fight the forever-lasting evil promised by Demise. All in all, change hurts, shakes your world, and can even take what makes you happy from your life. But everything always has a purpose, the only thing you can do in the changing fortunes of time is actually decide to be happy with the cards that life gives you, and play them in the best way you can. Love from Peru to everyone who reads this ✌️🇵🇪
"So I'm going to ask you a favor, sleepyhead. Ever since we were kids, I'd always be the one to wake you up when you slept in. But this time, when all of this is over, will you come to wake me up?" "Así que voy a pedirte un favor, dormilón. Desde que éramos niños, yo siempre fui la que te despertaba cuando te quedabas dormido. Pero en esta ocasión, cuando todo esto acabe, ¿Serás tú quien vendrá a despertarme?"
I think the beauty in the song lies in the fact that it plays whenever you see Zelda and that it's always the same tune. Different instruments and even speeds, but always the same melody. As if...you're always meant to find Zelda. And Link is always meant to love Zelda. Just like how love will always find you, no matter what, or vice versa.
Except Twilight Princess Link loves Ilia and Ocarina of Time Link is implied to be with someone other than Zelda because his descendant is in Ordon Village and not Hyrule Castle (Meaning if Ocarina Link and Zelda got together than Twilight Princess Link and Zelda getting together would be incest.)
I like how in a lot of the Skyward sword soundtrack you can tell that its real instruments being played, which makes the song so much more beautiful, and its really prominent in this song, which is why its probably my favorite version
Oh my gosh, thank you so much! You just explained perfectly why I love this version so much. I was trying to put my finger on why I specifically liked the Skyward Sword version of the Lullaby so much and this is why! The instruments sound so clear and rich, like they’re singing to you. It’s not altered or a mimic sound by a computer or something. Just real and raw emotion from the instruments and players. I love it!!
I find it incredibly fitting how one of the places where Zelda's Lullaby is played is when Zelda realizes that the old woman is indeed Impa. In Ocarina of Time, Impa tells Link that she played that same lullaby for Zelda ever since she was a baby. So to hear it played here, it makes it clear that it was more than just a friendship. It was like love between a mother and daughter. Zelda's mother died before the events of the game, so I wouldn't be surprised if Zelda looked up to Impa like a mother. The mother she never had growing up.
This song makes me wanna cry, smile and gives me a nostalgic feeling. It's my favourite game and my favourite song in The legend of Zelda ( in this cover ) is this because Skyward Sword is the first Zelda I ever played
Whenever I get married, I'm walking down the aisle to this song. aND NOBODY IS STOPPING ME- *Edit:* Thank you all for the support, it's definitely something I still want to do whenever the time comes- But I'm loving the comments where people think I'm a guy when I'm actually a woman- Like, biologically lol
This song reminds me that life goes on. The start brings to mind the early sunlight coming over the horizon, the wind as it blows across fields of grass, people moving about on their day, nothing apocalyptic. Nothing crazy. Just a day in a life, peace and serenity that you can find in moments of life, and it puts me at ease. Wonderful piece of music.
I’m a classical musician that mainly listens to big symphonies and such and studies then, but no one can deny that Koji Kondo is one of the greatest composers, specifically melodists. I seriously think this is one of the best, most versatilely emotional, melodies ever created. Beautiful.

Like Sheik said, time passes, people move. Like a river’s flow it never ends. But there’s always one constant in the Zelda universe, and it’s that Link and Zelda always manage to find each other. No matter what age or what’s happening in Hyrule, she’s his home.

I wish they would port it too! I’m currently playing it on the Wii but it would be so much better to have it on the Switch with the HD graphics and the portable abilities of the switch. Have you played Link’s Awakening? That’s on the Switch in case you’re looking for a new Zelda game
@@pink_phoenix welp i have to save for money first before buying another game lol, im willing to sell my pokemon pikachu & eeve game for another game or money to buy another game haha
This music reminds me of Studio Ghibli films. I would love it if that same studio would make a Zelda movie or show. People would immediately be in love with it.
I beat Skyward Sword HD today (August 12, 2021). After realizing who that old lady actually is at the end of the game, I absolutely fell in love with this soundtrack, simply because it was the one Nintendo chose to play during that scene.
Today we were in the hospital to see the body of my sister’s friend who was found dead in her apartment, it is hard and sad to see the parent and family devastated lost of their daughter, when we about to leave the hospital parents hide their daughters face with a cloak the father started to cry, it must be very devastating to lose your own child. I loved this song since I was little from N64, now im listening to this song with little tears and remembering this song when I was little and happy with my friends, I lost many of my friends during the years most of them commit suicide, but I always remember the happy days
I remember this was my first zelda game as a child. I played zelda games with my mother and helped her finish this game, I wish she still did this with me
Man Skyward Sword is so underrated. Its in my personal top 3 zelda games of all time. Its story was so good and don't even get me started on zelda and links relationship. It's the first game I actually felt connected to her and actually wanted to save her.
This rendition is so beautiful! It gives me the feels it makes me wanna cry everytime I listen 😭. Hearing this gives me the vibes of attending a 30th anniversary symphony concert in esplanade theatre
When I was little, I pretty much only ever finished pokemon games. But this was always the Zelda game I thought of when I thought of the franchise itself. Last year, I decided to pick it up again, and now I'm obsessed with the series. Skyward Sword is my favorite Zelda game, and I doubt any other game can change my mind. ❤
I've been playing the remastered skyward sword on the switch and having a really nice time. just earlier I got to the scene when you go to the past and you think you're finally going to be reunited with zelda. I have never been more thoroughly devastated by a moment in a video game than that scene. everything just hit me so hard but especially "I am still my father's daughter, and your friend... I am still your Zelda." and "I'm going to ask you a favor, sleepyhead. Ever since we were kids, I'd always be the one to wake you up when you slept in. But this time, when all of this is over, will you come to wake me up?" I didn't actually start crying but god I was close. It's been like an hour and I still haven't recovered. I'm going to play this song on loop and just hurt now because I am not okay
I'm very new to zelda and the only other game I've played is breath of the wild, I've put over 400 hours into that game by now and I think it's fucking fantastic. But NOTHING, absolutely _NOTHING_ in that entire game can match the emotion in that scene. No other scene from any other video game I have ever played hit me that hard.
@@khloeg1649 i'm with you on this, i played it on the wii and this scene with this beautiful music melted my heart, i had to stay away from the game to recover because it devastated me that the journey wasn't over and you still can't reunite with zelda.
As of October 2023, I'm leaving this comment for hope that this will be the song that plays when I walk down the isle for my wedding one day, I'll come back if it happens and update

When I was younger, I never thought that a simple wii nintendo would bring me such happiness. My brother and I had two console of nintendo, I played Windwaker when I was around 5-6 whenever I struggled somewhere my older brother always helped me. Zelda spirti track, Zelda pahntom hourglass, Zelda Skyward sword, zelda breath of the wild were all the games I played. I loved each of them I played on them with different consoles, Ds, Wii, Switch I loved Zelda until my dad took away my wii because we needed "some fresh air" but my older brother didn't gave up. Today i can play again with Zelda windwaker on mobile with an emulator. It's bring so much happiness

Just amazing how vast game music has been. This would always be one of my fave music, along with Suikoden OSTs, Gusty Garden Galaxy.. Very calming, healing vibes..

I still have no IDEA how people managed to make this song so depressing by just slowing it down and adding reverb, the internet truly is an amazing place.. sometimes.. I just can’t really feel sad when listening to this ngl
I never played the original games, but I have played BotW, and this song personally makes me sad because it reminds me of Zelda’s past, mostly the Despair memory
the memories i have with this game are so great and funny, when i broke my elbow i had to stay home because the hospital was closed, when i wake up i just turned on the wii and started playing the game WITH A BROKEN ELBOW, man, what a great game.
I love this game so much. This song played in my head every time I was far, far away from home. Don’t know what it reminded me of, whether it was a girl, home, friends, everything in between? What I do know is that this song is special to my heart, and helps me understand myself.
I love this song, whenever i played Legend Of Zelda Skyward Sword i always relaxed when this song played, sometimes i wish that Legend of Zelda was real
Just by listening to this song, I get flashback of everything on the scene... and makes me want to cry. This scene was one of the saddest scenes in Zelda's series. The sacrifice for each other... Just such an amazing love story.

I really want to play Skyward Sword but I only have the switch, I already completed Botw and skyward sword and twilight princess are such good zelda games in the franchise I really want to try.. I wish they port it to the switch this year..
I got it in 2011. It was (and still is) my favorite game of all time. Yet, I didnt complete it until around 2-3 months ago. It's 100% worth it.
GOD I KNOW!!! I wish they would,but I don't think they will :,(
I wish they would port it too! I’m currently playing it on the Wii but it would be so much better to have it on the Switch with the HD graphics and the portable abilities of the switch. Have you played Link’s Awakening? That’s on the Switch in case you’re looking for a new Zelda game
Don't Fret, with the news of the mario games confirmed I'm sure you're wish will granted.
I'm sorry about it, may your heart and your friend's family heart heal :(
I’m sorry you went through that it must be really hard but I hope you and the family of your sister’s friend are ok
I broke into tears reading this comment, I hope your sister and their friend's parents are okay... That's rough.
I love the Zelda series, it has such a heartwarming story.
It's the first game I actually felt connected to her and actually wanted to save her.

out of all the zelda's lullaby covers, this one is the best one in my opinion.
But this time, when all of this is over, will you come to wake me up?"
I didn't actually start crying but god I was close.
Man, wish I could experience the nostalgia others are feeling from this..
Hahhahah
Funny it got taken down a few weeks ago and I‘m kinda loving you now..
By far my favorite version of this song.
My Favourite version of Zelda's Lullaby.
This is so iconic. One of the best songs in video history.
you can’t NOT have a Zelda game without this classic tune
As of October 2023, I'm leaving this comment for hope that this will be the song that plays when I walk down the isle for my wedding one day, I'll come back if it happens and update
I hope you do have awesome day if my bride doesn’t like to walk with this song we don’t marrie even do I am not thinking of marrying I am 16 years old so yep not yet I think later 😅
Thx for the reupload. Hopefully this lasts :/
Here cuz it's been 35 years of Zelda and I'm going down memory lane :))
I heard this song during my cousin's wedding. Yeah, my family are nerds
Nah your gamers 😎
Everytime I hear Zelda’s lullaby I get so emotional so quick of how much my childhood meant to me as I get older. I will forever love the the legend of Zelda
Finally, a requiem.

Although I never got to play this Zelda game I have so much appreciation for the soundtrack, I've been having a lot of fun learning this song on the piano the last few days
Never played a single Zelda game. And I’m in shock by the beauty
Hey Tricky!! I made a cover of this song! I really hope you can check it out🙏
this song fills my heart with love. simply imagining walking down the aisle to this song at my wedding is enough to bring tears to my eyes. i cannot wait to make that dream a reality one day
This has to be the best zelda lullaby version.
Just amazing how vast game music has been.
This would always be one of my fave music, along with Suikoden OSTs, Gusty Garden Galaxy..
Very calming, healing vibes..
I never played Zelda in my life but I always listen to the music bc it's so beautiful and it makes me feel nostalgic idk... I feel so calm and happy listening to this one
Hey Sirin ! I hope you can check it out my violin cover of this lullaby❤🎻
I just had the same feeling, buddy. It made me felt it soothing, but also felt lost at the same time. I don't wanna explain it though (call me out if you want me to).
Beautifully made zelda's lullaby for this LOZ Skyward Sword sequel game, the harmonizing sounds touch my heart like other movie soundtracks
In my mind, this song gives off kind, humble feelings... I love it!
Hola Naranja! I uploaded a lullaby cover in my chanel ! Si quieres have a look!! Hope u like it😍😘😘
I love how the beginning shifts from clarinet, to oboe, to flute.
I still have no IDEA how people managed to make this song so depressing by just slowing it down and adding reverb, the internet truly is an amazing place.. sometimes..
I just can’t really feel sad when listening to this ngl
I never played the original games, but I have played BotW, and this song personally makes me sad because it reminds me of Zelda’s past, mostly the Despair memory
still to this day believe this is the best zeldas lullaby
Because Skyward Sword is maybe the only Zelda game that used a real orchestra.
Zelda ocarina is the best but what make the skyward sword better is just make what best become better

Hello Lilly!!! U want to check out my cover of this song on my channel? I hope u will like it😍😍 have a good day
the memories i have with this game are so great and funny, when i broke my elbow i had to stay home because the hospital was closed, when i wake up i just turned on the wii and started playing the game WITH A BROKEN ELBOW, man, what a great game.
Te mereces el cielo amigo
I will be walking down the aisle to this in a few months and listening to it brings tears to my eyes.
Thnx for re uploading it
‘I’m still your Zelda’ 🥺
Why does this always make me cryyy
"Im still my fathers daughter and your friend. Im still *your* Zelda."
;-;
I love this game so much. This song played in my head every time I was far, far away from home. Don’t know what it reminded me of, whether it was a girl, home, friends, everything in between? What I do know is that this song is special to my heart, and helps me understand myself.
This song calms me down when I have massive nightmares at night and it calms me soothingly when I cry
Hey Dawn❤ i made a violin cover of this song! I hope that you can check it out❤❤
I love this song, whenever i played Legend Of Zelda Skyward Sword i always relaxed when this song played, sometimes i wish that Legend of Zelda was real
i love the soft opening of this song
Just by listening to this song, I get flashback of everything on the scene... and makes me want to cry. This scene was one of the saddest scenes in Zelda's series. The sacrifice for each other... Just such an amazing love story.
"I'm still your Zelda"
no ur amigo j
This sounds so much like a lot of anime OSTs I heard, so sad yet beautiful. Familiar, sad, nostalgia
Damn im crying , thanks
Hey Andrei! U got some time to check my violin cover of this?🙏🙏
