Good information, I visited this site in Mid summer. I do not recommend that time of year to do this. Spring would be the best in my opinion. But I am not local so what is your thoughts on when the best time to go is?

We were both in awe of really meeting you... after watching this video we are ready to come back to the mine!!! Would love to be a winner of some Barite!! :)
I'm just an Indiana corn field rock hound. I started searching for arrowheads in the mid 1980's. Now most of my yard is covered with field rocks that have been altered by native americans. That barite would look nice scattered amongst them.
Great video DMI. I actually searched for the amethyst thats supposed to be on canary hill when I was there, but didn't find any. Maybe you could make a video searching for it someday.
Wish I had seen this video before I visited the crater last year. I got into a spot with blue and purple gravel. Had no idea it was a good one - didn’t take much from that area though. Your videos are so interesting and informative - thanks bunches.
