If you want to do diamondback-less Goldor Rush, the key is to not move immediately after you are knocked back. Move once the column attack goes out, which is also when the point blank aoe Goldor fire III snap shot, so you don't need to worry about stopping for lighting aoe afterwards as long as you run a bit past the column attack. I have yet run into cases where the first lightning aoe is directly under me after knockback so not moving right away should not be an issue.

I was talking about this very same thing today and it reminds me of the first sets of Orthos. Just unnecessarily time consuming for the sake of it and kind of a bummer too
I find this fight to be the exact definition of not fun. A quarter hour marathon where if you make one mistake, odds are you are dead and back to the start. the crystal buff should definitely give 1 maybe 2 stacks of phys vuln to goldor, you do like 0.5% per hit of goblin punch, so you need around 200 lands or about 8 1/2 minutes of straight punching just to clear with only goblin punch.
I'm incredibly slow, so I couldn't cast MG and DB for the Rush mechanic. I just kept MG all phase 2. Goblin Punch is still good with that. Food is also nice. Thanks for the strats!
I just discovered your channel 2 days prior before the new update and did Siegfried and gogo on the same day and they both die less than 10min but seeing this as long as 27min freaked me out lol
Took me a few tries, and a long time to whittle him down, but I just got the achievement and umbrella thanks to your tips. Love your work on all the blue mage guides!
Thanks a ton for this. I'm not a very good BLU but I managed to do it after a few tries thanks to your strats. I found Moonflute was a little too reliant on good AoE placements, while Diamondback-ing every time and using Lucid Dreaming on CD to keep mana up was completely repeatable for me. It took a solid 5 or more mechanic rotations to whittle down the last 50% of A2, but its a pretty chill loop of Gob Punches at that point so I got it down with Diamondback
Tbh it's perfectly doable as dps with Rehydratation as your heling spell, it cost low mp, doesn't care about your actual hp so you don't need to spam it when low like white wind and destroy your mp, and while it has a long cast you can just save swifcast for it. And since you're dps the fight it's a lot faster(i did mine extremely safe and cleared in like 14 minutes)
Still trying to get this down, I hate how long the first act is. It makes failing so demoralizing because it's practically an autopilot phase once you see how it works once. I think I can do it with your help though, thanks
Oh that's a lot easier than people in shout chat made it out. I didn't even bother cause people were saying no avoidable damage. I'll give this a shot today.
I found with DPS mimicry, the current oGCDs, and applying the new DoTs with bristle and moonflute, he straight up dies after the first Goldor Fire in Act 1. You can reapply all of the DoTs in Act 2, but he will stop taking damage from them after becoming magic immune.
Thanks for making this along with all your other videos. I never would have thought of the moon flute strat since I never paid attention to the fact that it gives movement speed.
You would think the summons would be the difficult mechanics in this fight, but no. It's Goldor Rush that kills me almost every time because of the random AoE patterns.
@@ChrisBabaganoosh can't sit still during Rush though as you have the fire AoE chasing you. Useful tip for thunder anywhere but Goldor Rush, thunder cuts you off, you're SoL unless you have mighty guard up and diamondback on swiftcast
@@ChrisBabaganoosh that really doesn't help. You're not looking for one place to stand still. You need a safe path to where you need to go, and very quickly. If there's an AoE in my way, knowing it won't go off again after it diverts me from getting to the safe spot in the first place doesn't really help. I'm either already dead from whatever I needed to get out of, or I had to eat the first one to avoid it. The only sure way out of it sometimes is to swiftcast Loom if you're really fast and precise with it.
So I got thw achievement before the guides and thought you also had to get no vuln stacks in addition to everything else. Needless to say I'm not very pleased with the amount of time I spent doing that only to learn that I didn't need to, but thank you from saving others from my fate
Waymarkers help a lot in finding the safe spots during Act 2's Summons since they're always in the same spots so you can use the plus sign in the center of the ring as a guide. The safe spots are far left and right of each of the plus's points up against the electric floor. Takes a lot of pressure and stress off of braining where they are repeatedly.
Took me awhile to figure out some of the mechanics. I thought for sure I was just cheesing my way through the slime and the dolls and there had to be a 'correct' way....guess that WAS the correct way.
It was very long battle and annoying. First needed time to get used to Act 1, then to Act 2. Also followed tactics and got Gentlemage's umbrella when passed Act 2. I followed Diamonback strat but a bit different, when he pulled me - I began to use Diamondback( with Swiftcast). Sure after few attacks I had like 20% of HP so quickly healed myself. Also I have used meals to make my HP 27k and better characteristics. Also I have added few HQ Hyper-potions, usually used them in very extra moments when missed something and my HP was down a lot and I had no time to recover with spell in this moment. In act 2 I had 2 times when had so less MP to use Diamondback so just run away from attacks. But sometimes they generate random circles and can generate 1 of them directly on you+ Electrocution effect - so better be careful and save MP for Diamondback(maybe better to have few HQ Hi-Ethers for this battle if you will follow Diamondback strat). Ahh yes, also used Gobskin time by time to miminimize physical attacks from boss.
I managed this using dps mim with hydration as main heal and only using exhuve for cleanse. The majority of a MF opener does most of the elements you need, supra for earth, shanty for water, shock strike for lightning, and you can mortal flame as the fire. Ice is obviously the rams for the slime. You just need to make sure to sardine in the first opener, and not try to flurry for ender because fire will get you. For healing, because you're not using your swift very often, Rehydration is a 600 potency heal with almost no drawback unless you need to use it more than once every 60 seconds at which point it's kinda slow? but you shouldn't need it that bad where the slow cast would matter. even then it's still nice due to how low the cost is. For goldor rush, personally I preferred to walk around the perimeter until first quake hits, then j-kick in and manually avoid any aoes that spawn in middle (although I've never jkicked into one, so might be set patern and this just works out perfectly?), you end up baiting everything perfectly this way, but you'll need to be super brave for if you start with lightning circle in your path to just keep walking till you get past it. Found that as long as you respect rush and respect the gravity, the fight is very manageable.
That Loom optimization is pretty sick. When I was first doing the fight I forgot completely about Loom, and just Gobskin Diamondback'd the blasts, cause the timing for it is easy and you take 0.
Something dumb I found was that his lightning attack only applies it's debuff if you take damage. If you have gobshield up before it hits then you never get the debuff. It's more effort to use it before lightning than just heal it off but just a neat little detail.
Oh thank god for this. Yesterday I was like oh boy Im gonna do this blind itll be fun but IMMEDIATELY I have no idea how to deal with the slime. I figurut i can freeze it but I assumed it was immune to vibe check and I just had to perfectly time freezes just before its cast goes off until something happens and it goes away on its own. And after trying like that 6 times I was like nah Im gonna wait for the guide. Also I would not have gotten it anyways because of the sprint thing and I probably would have killed the crystal. Really wish the reqs were spelled out more
Great guide, but a couple things missing here. 1) Its not mentioned, but be sure to do elemental damage (6 types) in Act 2, before he goes invuln. I did 3 perfect runs, thinking i maybe crossed Shock and Buster CDs, and 4th run did the trick.. 2) Act 2, you can still use debuffs, such as off guard, to make it faster). I unsed Off Guard, and tried my luck with a Condensed Libera sometimes.
Well i did it, i wouldnt have been able to have done it without the guide. And by no means do i think its easy. I mean i got good at it, cuz it took many attempts. And by how long this fight goes on for your going to have to do the mechs over, and over, and over. And a few times i choked near the end and had to run it back. But i finally won thank god.
This stage made me give up on blue mage, it feels abit unfair and stressful and I'm just interested in finishing the quest....I don't know if it becomes easier if I get more spells...
I'm disappointed with the umbrella having no glow - Friar Rush spoiled me That said, thank you for the video - took 5 tries to learn phase 1, and after wiping to first dolls on first try p2, second try was perfect all the way because you explained it well I used DPS mimicry with angel's snack for panic heals and rehydration instead of healing mimicry and used primal spells during p1 and finished with 9:47 left
I tried this fight through a lot of sleep deprived trial and error and I almost get to the second phase but never do lol the new DoTs REALLY kick his ass so I think I will adopt your slow and steady strategy alongside adding those DoTs, especially mortal flame. Your damage is really pretty good despite being on a healer mimic too. Are you using the new AF or the augmented crypt gear? Yesterday there was an amusing 3 hour long argument in the novice network discussing BiS for 80 blu and I tend to just lurk and observe without interacting, and I’d rather hear from a blu I’ve seen in action
So, it seems Gobskin can block the Electrocution debuff from Goldor Thunder. I've had it happen a few times now where I'll cast it right as he finishes casting Thunder, and the debuff doesn't spawn on me.
Its kinda sad we’re just getting 1 stage now instead of a whole pack of them like before, at least it’s a decent one. The masked carnivale could be so much more though
Right, trying to follow along. For some reason even without mighty guard up, I simply don't seem to take out the fireball in time... lovely. Right, right, ELEMENTALS. Hit the fire with something that does more damage due to elemental types. That's another step further. Now to remember that, and then get thunder off myself.
A few hours latter, I am getting to the "just maintain" phase. I understand when to fish, when to cure, when NOT to moon flute a second time... Could flying frenzy be used instead of a macro'd loom? That would let us get in a single hit more each rotation, wouldn't it? oooh. no, NO, flying does NOT work, you end up at the closest edge of the target, not the perfect center...
Okay... it's late. I got to act 2. I'm calling that a save point. I'm getting some sleep. I've experimented with what I can... if I had sea shanty I might go faster... but, eh... can't be bothered at this hour of the night.
I've been saving one slot, and trying to make up my mind what to put into it. I'm adding mortal flame. It'll make act 1 more consistant. It'll stop working act 2 once he's invunrable, but... I'll deal. Wish "bleed" from song of torment counted as physical.
I should use that macro on more skills that involve moving the circle of effect... As on controller it's hard to time it properly cause the circle decides it wants to be in space.
Thanks for the guide! I should have just used this guide for an easier time than the way I did. Also will you be doing this weeks weekly targets? I need 300 more seals for my umbrella haha.

Hey man! First of all I would like to thank you for all your effort in assisting all the blue mages out there. Thanks to you I managed to reach level 32 of Masked Carnivale! I dodge the quake and use DB, but even with full health I keep dying. I tried to stay on the quake area after it vanishes, I tried to stay out of the quake are, I tried to stay in the intersection between the dolls, but nothing works 😫. Can you help me with that?
Do you know what it is that is killing you? I would guess that you're getting hit by all four dolls instead of just two. If you can get a screenshot or clip of where you actually die that would be easiest.
@@BlueAcademy hey man! Thanks for your reply! I not only managed to beat this part, as I beated Goldor as well thanks to your guide! I did this on my alt the other night after getting home from Fan Fest and it took me longer than when I did it the first time with no information. Anyone else get the feeling that the devs hate Blue Mage since they just give us these dodge fest damage sponges that seemed designed to frustrate with how long they are. It just doesn't feel fun for me. I miss when it was fun.
I've tried using the Loom Macro for over an hour, and I cannot dodge the second Gravity hit using it, my position does not change an ilm no matter how much I hold a direction.
Thanks for this! I am curious, why not Pom Cure for healing? Exuviation is obviously still needed for the cleanse, but when just strictly healing Pom Cure is more efficient, isn't it? Was it just to keep the spell amounts lower for less complexity in the execution?
tried this strat many times , it keeps failing , the damage is not the same and always boss has aoe lighting right on top of the fire ball you are killing , spells doing low damage with tome 80 gear so can't kill fire into time, have to use primal skills to even burst down
I tried to get the going for gold feat, and apparently didn't manage it.. Does the elemental master require *spells* or do the oGCD abilities from the primals work? Maybe I didn't use all the spells.. Also is it ok to do some aoe damage to the crystal or do I need to completely avoid touching it? Do you have to use all the elements in the same act?
Does anyone have any tips for increasing your damage? I tried the guide using healer mimicry but my output was so low I couldn't even destroy the fires in phase two without bringing a bunch of additional cooldown attacks? Is there something I'm missing?

Thanks for this guide - got it done just now thanks to you. A few false starts on Act 1, but once I made it to Act 2, no failures all.
It took me a couple days of 5-6 attempts to nail it down. Hopefully you got it :)
I went in mimicked as a Tank and it made this way easier during the Rush part. It was still scary but I had a lot more room for error.
You would think the summons would be the difficult mechanics in this fight, but no. It's Goldor Rush that kills me almost every time because of the random AoE patterns.
real
Agreed. Gotta keep moving to dodge fire, but you can't predict thunders AoEs appearing anywhere
From what it looks like, the thunder AOEs will never hit in the same spot twice so you should be able to dodge into one after it goes off to be safe.
Cleared on second try after the guide. Thank you so much. I think i left a hole in my 1 key thanks to goblin punch tho .
If you use gobskin with diamondback and mighty guard, you can mitigate almost all damage from the aoes. The dolls and the rush aoes.
Found that as long as you respect rush and respect the gravity, the fight is very manageable.
we need the Power Sword now!!!!!!
That Loom optimization is pretty sick. When I was first doing the fight I forgot completely about Loom, and just Gobskin Diamondback'd the blasts, cause the timing for it is easy and you take 0.
Thank you for sharing this with us!!! i appreciate the explanations and clarifications.
Something dumb I found was that his lightning attack only applies it's debuff if you take damage. If you have gobshield up before it hits then you never get the debuff. It's more effort to use it before lightning than just heal it off but just a neat little detail.
This is extremely useful knowledge.
After learning this I was able to start passing stage one consistently. Thank you for sharing it.
I unsed Off Guard, and tried my luck with a Condensed Libera sometimes.
i have been trying for a whole day for the Umbrella and i finally got it thank you for the guide Liam
Finally got this done and even got the achievement to boot. Thank you!
Thanks for this. Once I learned the rotation, I got my umbrella. 👍Dyed it bright ass yellow.
Stayed for the video, liked for Marcy
🐈
Thanks for the vid! Worked like a dream, even though it felt like it took forever lol.
Thank you for your hard work, helped me get the Umbrella!
When I did it on my alt I had like 3 wipes all
Got it on like my 3rd-4th try! Amazing guide as always! 💙
Took a break after finishing 29. red fraught and blue and felt pretty confident about this one... cant get even past the first stage XD
Ahh finally got it and the All that Glitters is Blue achievement. Finally! Ty!
This stage made me give up on blue mage, it feels abit unfair and stressful and I'm just interested in finishing the quest....I don't know if it becomes easier if I get more spells...
I know I’m like almost a year late but I feel ya! It took me weeks of trying to just get to phase 2 and to only die on the first mechanic….
I'm disappointed with the umbrella having no glow - Friar Rush spoiled me
That said, thank you for the video - took 5 tries to learn phase 1, and after wiping to first dolls on first try p2, second try was perfect all the way because you explained it well
I used DPS mimicry with angel's snack for panic heals and rehydration instead of healing mimicry and used primal spells during p1 and finished with 9:47 left
At least the umbrella is fully dyable ^_^
glowable now
Sometimes the placement of aoes will kill you. the end
You can hit the crystal, but multiple "Both Ends" will shatter it costing the achievement
I always stuck to the south of the arena and could use Both ends safely without touching the crystal
South of the arena with Both Ends is how I got my kill the first time, yeah.
Thank you for the help, got the clear after 4 attempts, worst part about it is how long it takes!
I know, right?! It's not that hard but man is it a slow stage.
Thanks for your guide on the first attempt ^^
Not sure if this has been said yet, but if Gobskin is up, you won't get the dot when he casts thunder!
Good guide :) was easy to clear with it
This helped me out a bunch! Thank you
So, it seems Gobskin can block the Electrocution debuff from Goldor Thunder. I've had it happen a few times now where I'll cast it right as he finishes casting Thunder, and the debuff doesn't spawn on me.
It does. Helped a lot for the fire mechanic.
Its kinda sad we’re just getting 1 stage now instead of a whole pack of them like before, at least it’s a decent one. The masked carnivale could be so much more though
I keep getting overlaps with random lightning placement during the fire ring. So it leaves me no safe zone after the fire is killed.
Move towards him or far away and then readjust. Don't stand where you need to until just before you get knocked back.
Great guide, thank you!
Finally ive been struggling here
I'm as excited to get more of your BLU content as I am for the BLU content itself.
j-kick seems to make damage on second phase !
J kick helps alot
took me 20 mins but i killed him \o/ thanks for getting the vid up so quickly
I've experimented with what I can... if I had sea shanty I might go faster... but, eh... can't be bothered at this hour of the night.
a few days latter, I'm not consistantly able to handle the gold rush. I can get there 1 run in 3, but... 65% is my best result.
I've been saving one slot, and trying to make up my mind what to put into it. I'm adding mortal flame. It'll make act 1 more consistant. It'll stop working act 2 once he's invunrable, but... I'll deal. Wish "bleed" from song of torment counted as physical.
Did it. 5 days, 8 - 16 hours a day, and then a final 20 hour push
You earn the achievement “All That Glitters Is Blue”!
Thank you.
Thank you so much for this helped me get past Goldor on the first try!
I should use that macro on more skills that involve moving the circle of effect... As on controller it's hard to time it properly cause the circle decides it wants to be in space.
Thanks, really helped!
Thanks for the guide! I should have just used this guide for an easier time than the way I did. Also will you be doing this weeks weekly targets? I need 300 more seals for my umbrella haha.
Thanks a bunch for this! ;)
I was so proud to do a "no vuln stack" run, only to get no achievement... I assumed that I just wasn't fast enough somehow x) Thanks for the video!
You can take as much time as you need - The only requirements are to not sprint at all, to use all elements and not kill the crystal.
@@AluneNeverMisses Asmuch time as you need? I've mastered the Mechs, and timed out twice on the fight, in phase two with him at 31% and the 2nd 22%. I guess I need more time than most :) Annoying fight.
Tnx a lot for your videos!
Gobskin negates bleed debuff if you cast before thunder.
"dont hit the crystal" huh? so thats for an achievement? reminds me of that scene in Iron Giant, where Mansley is like "screw my country, I wanna live!" I feel that way, but about the achievement. I shattered that crystal in a heartbeat. I dont need no fancy title, its not gonna get me a mount >>
i cant get past the fire orbs, i cant seem to do enough dps before they blow up and the knockback
Hey man! First of all I would like to thank you for all your effort in assisting all the blue mages out there. Thanks to you I managed to reach level 32 of Masked Carnivale!
But I need to ask you something. During the second phase, when the boss summons the dolls, is there a specific spot in which I should use DB? I keep dying at this part all the time.
I did not understand that I was supposed to step in and step out when he used quake! I was waiting outside of the first quake wave but being hit by the 2nd, thats why I was dying! Man, I cant thank you enough! Im a proud Umbrella wielder thanks to you!! 💙💙💙🌂
Nice! I'm glad you were able to figure it out. Congrats on the umbrella. 😎
Could this guy be ANY tankier?
Oh god this took soo long. I somehow screwed up and died in the 2nd act while he was at 2% health. It was painful.
I did this on my alt the other night after getting home from Fan Fest and it took me longer than when I did it the first time with no information. I kept dying due to sleep deprivation including a 1% death.. so eventually I just turtled up and kept Mighty Guard on the whole time so I could finish it and go to bed.
@@BlueAcademy I died with diamondback in one of my runs. I had so much AOEs on me, that I ended up dying. After screaming at my screen, I just decided to do it normally. Seemed more secure to me.
@@BlueAcademy How do you do this without Timing out? I've reached the point of handling all the Mechs and I timed out with him on the 30% range, and 20% range. Both times with the full time MG for safety in phase 2. I'm assuming I just suck.
Anyone else get the feeling that the devs hate Blue Mage since they just give us these dodge fest damage sponges that seemed designed to frustrate with how long they are.
It just doesn't feel fun for me.
I miss when it was fun.
So i loom under him but still manage to get hit by his 2nd beam even if i move a inch.
This honestly feels easier than anything gogo's, but I'm not gonna complain
I get bullied in Act 1 by the Thunder RNG so hard it's painful :(
finally did it \o/
I've tried using the Loom Macro for over an hour, and I cannot dodge the second Gravity hit using it, my position does not change an ilm no matter how much I hold a direction.
Thanks for this! I am curious, why not Pom Cure for healing? Exuviation is obviously still needed for the cleanse, but when just strictly healing Pom Cure is more efficient, isn't it? Was it just to keep the spell amounts lower for less complexity in the execution?
Just for spell slot simplicity, yeah. White Wind or Pom Cure would be better for sure.
@@BlueAcademy Makes sense! Thanks for clearing that up for me. You're a great teacher. 👍
tried this strat many times , it keeps failing , the damage is not the same and always boss has aoe lighting right on top of the fire ball you are killing , spells doing low damage with tome 80 gear so can't kill fire into time, have to use primal skills to even burst down
the sonic boom takes them out in 4, 3 with two crits. But yha, when an electro lands in the safe place, that hurts, lost runs to that.
OGCDs are fine, touching the crystal is fine as long as you don't kill it, elements can be used at any point (even if they don't hit the enemy).
should be pointed out gobskin stops you getting the bleed
Does anyone have any tips for increasing your damage? I tried the guide using healer mimicry but my output was so low I couldn't even destroy the fires in phase two without bringing a bunch of additional cooldown attacks? Is there something I'm missing?
Silly me, I thought you couldn’t take vuln stacks so I reset a lot on aoe spam and had to do enough damage to skip the second one lol
Today is 6.45 update for Koreans!
mmm the macro dont work for me i always get hit with the first beam after goldor gravity :s maybe is something im not doing idk
