If anyone is STILL stuck on this like I was until today despite BiS gear, food, and studying the video over and over, here's what helped me get the clear: it seems that Charybdis, at least on the first cycle, always casts on the intercardinals. So I put way marks at N/S/E/W and remembered those as safe spots. After that I got the clear in about 4-5 tries. Even got the achievement, with just seconds to spare!
Having the spells here really helps. I was worried without res no one would take me to learn spells. I just got really good and listen to other blu’s advice and did well enough and stuck it out. If you just can’t do it, take a break, refine your strat, and give it another day. I trained for a week, got the spells and bam, first try I got it. There is no rush to learn just in the fight.
I've watched a few youtubers out there explaining things and I love how Liam explains things, but doesn't over simplify or trivialize anything. I never feel talked down to for anything that is easy for him but might be difficult for others. Anything tricky is explained well, but in ways that make me feel like I can handle it. Recommending all your videos to my FC!
Hey Alex, I really appreciate that feedback! I do genuinely try to just explain things as matter-of-fact as possible, and most of my recordings are voiceover _while_ I'm doing it to be more relatable. It's also important to note that even if it seems like I'm cruising through these sorts of things, the final cut does take multiple tries!
Huge tip for this now at level 80. You have enough time to get a bristled mortal fire and bristled song of magic up at the beginning of each round before he gets his mimic up. 60 potency ticks permanently and 180 for a minute while he's dancing like a loon helps so much. I didn't run cold fog for the running around thingie or final sting and he dropped right at the beginning of the second meteor phase for me.

So this is silly but just in case anybody struggled with the same thing as I did. Lv 80, some ok spells, but mostly basic stuff, which just extended the clear time. I didn't have issues with the mechanics, but finding the right camera angle in phase 2 during the tornados was driving me insane! Always died because I couldn't see anything!!! So what worked for me was always keeping the camera closer to my character than usual (pretty zoomed in actually). Once I did that, cleared it immediately thanks to this guide! Thank you so much!!!
The fight is challenging and can be easy once you get the hang of it. Positioning is important at the later half of the fight. Note: Enter the fight as a healer as you're gonna heal alot. Being a DPS does not worth it, the huge MP consumption for White Wind will hinder your DPS. You can heal without much concerns on MP and still being able to DPS as a healer Apply DOT constantly - Bristle + Siren Song + Garuda's skill + Bad Breathe As compared to the previous fight with the duo fire-water elements (which is not a challenge, I call it cheating from SquareEnix), Gogo is nothing.
thanks for the guiding me all thru the 31 stages of masked carnivale. it had been a wild ride. in act 2 of stage 31, i placed markers on the 12 oclock, 3, 6 and 9 oclock. marking safe zones from the tornado. so when tornado comes, i stand on the marker to bait the tornado then go in the middle then to another marker. for the fire i also stand in the marker since it will be a safe spot from the next attack although i kinda cheesed it by using mighty guard and spamming gobskin thanks for these vids
Another one stage passed with your help, TY. And TY to people in comments for tips about running in safe spots in Act 2 when hurricanes appear . 2nd act is the hardest, because you shoudl do all quick and apply Diamondback in time. My main fails where that I did not applied it in time - did earlier or later so died a lot. Also after Gogo Fire III I keep forgeting that he casts Pyretic, so I have followed at the start and stayed when it was on me, but later, after Meteor I keep forget about this so just quickly healed myself with Pom Cure. Also tip for people in future: keep you MP more then 3-4k for Diamondback for Meteor, cause I am also failing on this a lot( especially when boss casted 2nd or 3rd Meteor). As attacks I have used Supranakha, Snock Strike, Eruption, Glass Dance, Winged reprobation, The Rose of destruction , some of them can be casted when you move so it is saving time and life :D Also used Sonic Boom and A byssal Transfiction time by time. Gibskin is also helping a lot to save+ recommend to eat some food to max your HP and make more then 15k for this battle:)
I GOT MY TITLE AND FLASHY NEW WEAPON TONIGHT!!!! THANK YOOOUUU!!!!!! When I found that I wanted to try for this, I started with this exact video. Realized I had essentially been spamming random damage spells and needed an opener and more synergy. After nailing down a few things and some attempts later I was able to get through it without any vuln stacks! But my time just flat-out refused to go below ~7:10. I realized I legit did need more spells and set out to get them. After a few frustrating runs of The Temple of the Fist to get Rose of Destruction I turned to your solo anything vid and started to go HARD on everything I could get solo. And after a PF for Nightbloom I returned to this and BAM! 2 attempts later I got the achievement! At the risk of coming off as overly sappy, thank you for the content that you make. You've shown me a new side to my favorite game and I find it hard to express how happy I am right now. Now to try for the other achievements!

Time to watch this guide and try this again. Last time I just kept panicking and dying during the P2 tornadoes and it was soooo frustrating to do P1 over and over again. Hopefully can do it this time with moar spells and a good guide :D Just want the card XD
You reminded me I really needed to optimize my opener and that Blue Fog gets refreshed faster than you'd think in the middle of battle, and Nightbloom expires quickly in hindsight. Blue Fog, Nightbloom, and Mantra Magic absolutely carry this entire fight due to both required movement and required downtime because of Mimicked Sap and Mimic respectively. Mantra for the opener is very clean but likely won't be available to many due to the steep 100 spell requirement. After planning out my skill order in the phases with some great variance from this run, I managed to clear at 6:15 while using Healer spec. Got the achievement. The tips here are flawless. Nice job. I recommend people use a good food buff and a 10% Intelligence Tincture right before you launch your opener. Extra damage and DoT from Nightbloom, etc. The Tincture should last right near the end of your Blue Fog casts. I didn't end up using Tingle or Triple Trident.
oof, I'm not even trying for the achievement- just trying to clear it to get the triple triad card locked behind it; but wow my dps is horrendous since it's taking me about 6 mins just to clear act 1...It's been destroying my motivation to keep trying, after I keep messing up to the tornadoes on act 2. I don't have nearly any of these dps spells you're using, which I think is why. Would it be possible to put a list of the spells in the description on future videos? I'm having to pause and glance at the icons back and forth between mine and yours, and a full list in another tab, to see what I need to get. Thank you for the guide, hopefully once I get more dps it'll be much easier. The staying in the middle part for the tornadoes is a very good idea which I think will help me a lot.
If you can make it to Act 2 and have mighty guard, you can do this fight the slooooooow way with minimal spells. Took me about 19min for the clear but still significantly faster than going for big damage spells if you really just want the card so you can ignore blu forever. With the guard, you should have plenty of protection for healing, and if you're not healing as much you should be able to dps more too to make up for the 40% debuff.

I know if I keep trying I'll eventually get it (like one of the other ones I had issues with). But I am cringing that eventually I will need to do this once I get the right spells. Thanks for the guide. Watch yours and a few others. WeskAlber carry me through most of the mask. Just figure I'll tell you I got my clear and the achievement after like 20 pulls. Clear earlier like on the 3rd pull, but was just trying to figure out where I could greed and where I should respect. Also watch your update/proof it can be done after stat squish. Ya, the stat squish wasn't an issue at all.
Very late to the party but FINALLY for my Truest Blue just before 80 BLU coming out next month. Part of me wants to use my new title, but I've had Perfect Blue on for like 2 years now I'm kind of attached to it at this point

used most of his guides which are great, this one the opening combos were rushed and hard to pick out the individual spells (minor neg). miss one or delay and he is already casting mimic
I'd like to ask for some help: As someone with a disability (autism), I just...cannot beat him, at all. It's nothing in the 1st act at all, that's fine, but it's the sheer sensory overload in the 2nd act that I just cannot seem to overcome. He just tosses down SO MUCH SHIT ALL AT ONCE that I cannot react and respond to everything he's doing. Specifically the meteors and the tornado segments. It is always 100% guaranteed I fail and die on one of those two mechs, every time. And not by a ton either, just...a half to a whole second off. Everything's just *ever* so slightly off in my ability to process everything going on in the fight that I end up making mistakes and die. I've been stuck on this fight ever since I unlocked it and I can't continue the Blue Mage storyline because of it.

@@BlueAcademyWell to start I suppose the first question would be: Would just getting all the lvl 80 spells be an answer to this? Because I had a similar issue with Siegfried, and as soon as I got the lvl 70 spells he dropped like a pile of wet tissues.
It will enable you to kill him faster but you'll still see each mechanic probably. Breath of Magic will be your biggest DPS buff and Mortal Flame will help quite a bit, too. It's still just extra damage, though. There's no spell that is a silver bullet that will just complete the stage for you.
@@BlueAcademyWell that's really the rub of it, I can DPS him, but I get overloaded trying to juggle it, healing, not dying to mechs, and keeping an eye on all the stuff happening at once, and I just get too overtaxed in the act, make a mistake, then die. If I had just even a small boost to DPS it'd be a massive change because I could have just that *ever so slight* boost needed. If I can just give myself the ability to not panic or freak out as much I could probably do it.
I finished act 2 with Off-guard + Whistle + Moon Flute + Final Sting when he had less than 25% hp right before the third meteor because you might not have enough mp for a third diamondback.
I GOT SUPER CLOSE! i'm stressed as fuck, but i got a 6:57 AND i got a vuln stack last second, man fuck those tornados. and then somehow i fucked hella up my next attempt, i had 1 minute left to burn 25% of his health and something clipped me so i gave up and died to meteors
I spent two hours just trying to beat him. It’s damn near impossible to squeak by this fight with my horrible ping (JP to Lamia D: ) but I did it after a lot of frustrating close calls and then finally barely managed it. My biggest issue is being a max size fem roegdelyn and my model size being huge.
I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. I'm following your guide, I've got all the spells and have them arranged in their opening order for Act 1. I can knock Gogo down in about 2min, 30sec but then Act 2 is where it all seems to be falling apart for me. I can dodge no problem but while you're getting him to 60% by the time he starts casting meteor I've barely gotten him to 75% and that's with me throwing everything that's not on cooldown at him. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. My gear is built around crit with speed being second but I'm not getting any actual good damage. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong but if I can't get Gogo to 60% before the first round of meteors then clearly I am doing something wrong.
I hate you. Jk but I've spent over 8 hours trying to beat this and I guess I just suck. Wish there was an easy mode like EVERY OTHER JOB when you get to an area you have to beat to continue the job line. Act 1 is crazy easy now but those tornadoes block my view in act 2 and I keep dying bc I can't see. Also wish there was a way to practice one act
I do wish they would make a "story mode/ easy mode" version of Stage 25, 30, and 31 that can only be accessed when their related quests are active. These would not get you stuff like Perfect Blue, nor would they count as a completed Masked Carnival events in terms of getting certain Totems. They would just be there for people who want to move on with the story and gain access to stuff like the Blue Mage log, so they can do the challenges later when they have better practice and better spells. I hope I am making sense.
Yeah, what you're saying makes sense. I wouldn't expect it, though, since they don't really put a ton of resources into BLU in the first place.. Maybe they could allow Basic Instinct for these stages, but just disable achievements?
@@BlueAcademy Yeah. Currently I don't have a very good computer, and since running speed is affect by frame rate I often cannot get out of the way of AOEs in time.

Nope. But all values are before Endwalker, so if you mean the raw damage numbers then they should be about half. If you mean it's actually taking you twice as long, make sure you don't have Mighty Guard on.
@@BlueAcademy yeah, it is taking twice the time...I don't think you can do it unless you have all the skills for the perfect blue mage opening, j kick, all the extreme damage spells...etc. nowadays it seems way harder...not sure if I am wrong. But it feels way harder. Thanks for answering!

i'm filing this under anti-fun like 25 and 29, though at least it doesn't drag on like 25 did. I can't believe this is what passes for peak blue content instead of making eureka and bojangles blue only zones. They were made for blue. And as a last final farewell before I put blue on a shelf where it belongs, I'm really not sold on your healer spell speed only gear set with a sprinkling of det. I'm finding the tiny bit of extra dot damage and the .2 seconds slightly faster cast times to be not really very helpful compared to just doing more damage. This build and your strats basically depend on spamming pom cure constantly to survive. Full aug scavean and three mirage pieces with ss melded as per your guide.
After fighting with this strat, i just gave up and spammed wind and some primals so i didn't go oom. Then just song of torment during meteor along with rain of feathers. Then i just did it really really really slowly. just so slow. managed a clear after weeks of trying.
I am still struggling with this. Combination of bad internet and getting PSD from stage 25 when I see meteor and tornado cause me to panic and miss my timing for certain moves.
It's all good! A big part of it is just calming your nerves and taking it step by step. Try to learn one mechanic at a time. Failing is fine as long as you learn from it!

I just did it on my first try with no sting, it's definitely not harder. I can record one and upload it later or tomorrow but I have raid for most of the day today so it will be a bit.
I have failed for over 2 hours on this fight & have tried at least 30 times. Whoever made it so you have to do each phase every time should be locked in a jail cell with this boss theme playing for the rest of their life. I dodge every single attack (0 vuln stacks) through meteors and die to auto attacks burning my mana for healing. The swear words and phrases I have concocted for this fight could fill a dictionary. I will continue this fight tomorrow when it isn’t 3AM and if I don’t do it by tomorrow I’ll delete my account.
I followed the exact rotation in this video, and it does not work. It took me 8:30 to complete it, so I wasn't able to get the achievement. Among other things, when I was attempting this, the cooldown for Matra Magic is longer than what's in this video, and it's never ready for reuse at any of the times he recasts it in this video. Also, he still has about 15%-17% health left in Act 1 by the time I get to the Whistle/Tingle/Triple Trident. I'm equipped with the lvl 70 poetics gear (the name of which I'm forgetting right now).
@@BlueAcademy I found where I needed to improve. I brought more buffs. Particularly Bristle, Whistle, and Tingle. And I needed to be a little more aggressive. I couldn't be too safe or else I'd go over 7 minutes. I stayed Healer, because the doom mech was too scary to use healing as DPS. And I did rely on the Final Sting combo to finish it off. I got close to a 6:00 time limit.
Followed most of the guide but went in as dps…NOT RECOMMENDED!! Though this guide still helps my arrogant dps ass at some point, thank you ;w; //hugs my friar rush
Oh btw for the last mimic in first phase if you think you could kill before he cast the thing after we hit him on mimic then go for it. The kill cast isn’t instant 👍
So basically have all kinds of spells i don't have to hurt him. Takes me 10 mins to get through act 1. I have to go HLR cause he hits like a truck. So I'm pom curing my self constantly. Then all I do is put Ath spark bleed on him which basically does nothing. I just use Drill Cannon , Trip trident when up and tingle all these do is small dmg. Can some one tell what is the best DMG spell for the fight? Jesus this BLU is a pain in the ass. Just need a basic guide to get though this so I can get that last TT card.
how does cold fog work? i'm not really understanding why it's good, so it's one of the few spells i haven't gotten yet. what are the circumstances that make you want to bring it?
When you take damage, you then have 15 seconds where you can spam an instant cast 400 potency spells. With a SpS set, that lets you get 7 casts. That's effectively 7 Shock Strikes.

Wow, you make this look so easy. I don't have a raid group and no acces to the realy good spells from stormblood raids so... a bit more challenging and no chance for speed run. But a great video nonetheless!
I still cant beat carnival 29. Can you revisit 29 for those bloody hands with the new skills , is it possible to cheese that phase easier. I always unable quickly kill those hands. Get mp 0 and wiped
Unfortunately none of the new skills will really make a big difference there, you kinda just need to do it. You could watch my video where I do it with no Primal spells for an idea of how to do it and just save Primal spells for the hands: th-cam.com/video/bpTWxI74vrs/w-d-xo.html
If I'm not mistaken, I think the small hand is the one that sucks your MP. Kill that one first and then hit the bigger one. I usually slow DPS a bit to wait for the part where I have to hit Living Liquid with Sardine, then finish the second hand off so I can DB safely through LL's follow up knockback.
Gaes. Finally passed 29. Using primals ogcd. Before i start i also practice to use all the ogcd (finding which one should goes first to bombard those hands that does not share with other ogcd primals. Thus not wasting any seconds checking which one still on cooldowns). Also use reflux to both hands before bombard them with primals. So yeah me in the past was due to panic and untrained on using primals swiftly. Thank you liam for the guide. Now checking your gogo 31 guide.
What gearset did you use. I'm unable to get him down fast enough and it's really frustrating seeing how easy it was for you in one go. I've got every single spell you have and it's still not enough.
I give up, i finally reached the point where i'm once again too stupid to progress. It takes me like 7-8 minutes just to clear act 1 even though i constantly attack and meteor phase in act 2 is just too much for me. Why am i even playing at this point.
I was talking to someone recently who was taking 15 minutes for their full clear and just yesterday managed to get the achievement after chipping away at their time. I can try to help you out if you either have a video of a clear or if you want to stream via Discord so I can watch. :)
It should be possible but will still be considerably tighter. If you finish with a buffed Final Sting (about 18% HP) it cuts off a lot of time. DPS Mimicry might help in this case, too.
This is the second guide where you guys are doing more damage than me. Why is my sonic boom only doing 2.3k a hit for example. I have all ilvl400 gear. Am i missing something?
Sure. It's mostly the same as a typical DPS setup but with some changes. you can do anything with no harming spell to boss in P1 while is on the mimic buff, like healing or prep the Bristle's spell

I had a huge issue with this until I got Gobskin. Ability is a lifesaver.
Another one stage passed with your help, TY. And TY to people in comments for tips about running in safe spots in Act 2 when hurricanes appear .
2nd act is the hardest, because you shoudl do all quick and apply Diamondback in time. My main fails where that I did not applied it in time - did earlier or later so died a lot. Also after Gogo Fire III I keep forgeting that he casts Pyretic, so I have followed at the start and stayed when it was on me, but later, after Meteor I keep forget about this so just quickly healed myself with Pom Cure. Also tip for people in future: keep you MP more then 3-4k for Diamondback for Meteor, cause I am also failing on this a lot( especially when boss casted 2nd or 3rd Meteor).
As attacks I have used Supranakha, Snock Strike, Eruption, Glass Dance, Winged reprobation, The Rose of destruction , some of them can be casted when you move so it is saving time and life :D
Also used Sonic Boom and A byssal Transfiction time by time. Gibskin is also helping a lot to save+ recommend to eat some food to max your HP and make more then 15k for this battle:)
I GOT MY TITLE AND FLASHY NEW WEAPON TONIGHT!!!! THANK YOOOUUU!!!!!! When I found that I wanted to try for this, I started with this exact video. Realized I had essentially been spamming random damage spells and needed an opener and more synergy. After nailing down a few things and some attempts later I was able to get through it without any vuln stacks! But my time just flat-out refused to go below ~7:10. I realized I legit did need more spells and set out to get them. After a few frustrating runs of The Temple of the Fist to get Rose of Destruction I turned to your solo anything vid and started to go HARD on everything I could get solo. And after a PF for Nightbloom I returned to this and BAM! 2 attempts later I got the achievement! At the risk of coming off as overly sappy, thank you for the content that you make. You've shown me a new side to my favorite game and I find it hard to express how happy I am right now. Now to try for the other achievements!

You reminded me I really needed to optimize my opener and that Blue Fog gets refreshed faster than you'd think in the middle of battle, and Nightbloom expires quickly in hindsight.
Blue Fog, Nightbloom, and Mantra Magic absolutely carry this entire fight due to both required movement and required downtime because of Mimicked Sap and Mimic respectively. Mantra for the opener is very clean but likely won't be available to many due to the steep 100 spell requirement.
After planning out my skill order in the phases with some great variance from this run, I managed to clear at 6:15 while using Healer spec. Got the achievement.
The tips here are flawless. Nice job.
I recommend people use a good food buff and a 10% Intelligence Tincture right before you launch your opener. Extra damage and DoT from Nightbloom, etc. The Tincture should last right near the end of your Blue Fog casts.
I didn't end up using Tingle or Triple Trident.

oof, I'm not even trying for the achievement- just trying to clear it to get the triple triad card locked behind it; but wow my dps is horrendous since it's taking me about 6 mins just to clear act 1...It's been destroying my motivation to keep trying, after I keep messing up to the tornadoes on act 2. I don't have nearly any of these dps spells you're using, which I think is why. Would it be possible to put a list of the spells in the description on future videos? I'm having to pause and glance at the icons back and forth between mine and yours, and a full list in another tab, to see what I need to get. Thank you for the guide, hopefully once I get more dps it'll be much easier. The staying in the middle part for the tornadoes is a very good idea which I think will help me a lot.
If you can make it to Act 2 and have mighty guard, you can do this fight the slooooooow way with minimal spells. Took me about 19min for the clear but still significantly faster than going for big damage spells if you really just want the card so you can ignore blu forever. With the guard, you should have plenty of protection for healing, and if you're not healing as much you should be able to dps more too to make up for the 40% debuff.

Man, this looks like a pain lol. I am not a high end player due to the quick reaction required and like the more casual pace. The Blue Mage has been a fun and unique class to play. I know if I keep trying I'll eventually get it (like one of the other ones I had issues with). But I am cringing that eventually I will need to do this once I get the right spells.

1:41 I've added Apokalypsis to my rotation as well, you can precast it and keep it running through Mimic for some free damage
Thanks for the guide. Watch yours and a few others. WeskAlber carry me through most of the mask. Just figure I'll tell you I got my clear and the achievement after like 20 pulls. Clear earlier like on the 3rd pull, but was just trying to figure out where I could greed and where I should respect.
Also watch your update/proof it can be done after stat squish. Ya, the stat squish wasn't an issue at all.

used most of his guides which are great, this one the opening combos were rushed and hard to pick out the individual spells (minor neg). miss one or delay and he is already casting mimic
I'd like to ask for some help: As someone with a disability (autism), I just...cannot beat him, at all. It's nothing in the 1st act at all, that's fine, but it's the sheer sensory overload in the 2nd act that I just cannot seem to overcome. He just tosses down SO MUCH SHIT ALL AT ONCE that I cannot react and respond to everything he's doing. Specifically the meteors and the tornado segments. It is always 100% guaranteed I fail and die on one of those two mechs, every time. And not by a ton either, just...a half to a whole second off. Everything's just *ever* so slightly off in my ability to process everything going on in the fight that I end up making mistakes and die. I've been stuck on this fight ever since I unlocked it and I can't continue the Blue Mage storyline because of it.
I've helped a bunch of folks with various disabilities figure out ways to handle things that work for them. If you want to DM me on Discord we can try to figure something out.
@@BlueAcademyWell to start I suppose the first question would be: Would just getting all the lvl 80 spells be an answer to this? Because I had a similar issue with Siegfried, and as soon as I got the lvl 70 spells he dropped like a pile of wet tissues.
It will enable you to kill him faster but you'll still see each mechanic probably. Breath of Magic will be your biggest DPS buff and Mortal Flame will help quite a bit, too. It's still just extra damage, though. There's no spell that is a silver bullet that will just complete the stage for you.
@@BlueAcademyWell that's really the rub of it, I can DPS him, but I get overloaded trying to juggle it, healing, not dying to mechs, and keeping an eye on all the stuff happening at once, and I just get too overtaxed in the act, make a mistake, then die.
If I had just even a small boost to DPS it'd be a massive change because I could have just that *ever so slight* boost needed. If I can just give myself the ability to not panic or freak out as much I could probably do it.

I finished act 2 with Off-guard + Whistle + Moon Flute + Final Sting when he had less than 25% hp right before the third meteor because you might not have enough mp for a third diamondback.
I was able to channel Phantom Flurry through Mimic, and I would bet Apokalypsis would work too.

I spent two hours just trying to beat him. It’s damn near impossible to squeak by this fight with my horrible ping (JP to Lamia D: ) but I did it after a lot of frustrating close calls and then finally barely managed it.
My biggest issue is being a max size fem roegdelyn and my model size being huge.
I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. I'm following your guide, I've got all the spells and have them arranged in their opening order for Act 1. I can knock Gogo down in about 2min, 30sec but then Act 2 is where it all seems to be falling apart for me. I can dodge no problem but while you're getting him to 60% by the time he starts casting meteor I've barely gotten him to 75% and that's with me throwing everything that's not on cooldown at him. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. My gear is built around crit with speed being second but I'm not getting any actual good damage. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong but if I can't get Gogo to 60% before the first round of meteors then clearly I am doing something wrong.

I hate you. Jk but I've spent over 8 hours trying to beat this and I guess I just suck. Wish there was an easy mode like EVERY OTHER JOB when you get to an area you have to beat to continue the job line. Act 1 is crazy easy now but those tornadoes block my view in act 2 and I keep dying bc I can't see. Also wish there was a way to practice one act
I do wish they would make a "story mode/ easy mode" version of Stage 25, 30, and 31 that can only be accessed when their related quests are active. These would not get you stuff like Perfect Blue, nor would they count as a completed Masked Carnival events in terms of getting certain Totems. They would just be there for people who want to move on with the story and gain access to stuff like the Blue Mage log, so they can do the challenges later when they have better practice and better spells. I hope I am making sense.
Yeah, what you're saying makes sense. I wouldn't expect it, though, since they don't really put a ton of resources into BLU in the first place.. Maybe they could allow Basic Instinct for these stages, but just disable achievements?

Nope. But all values are before Endwalker, so if you mean the raw damage numbers then they should be about half. If you mean it's actually taking you twice as long, make sure you don't have Mighty Guard on.
@@BlueAcademy yeah, it is taking twice the time...I don't think you can do it unless you have all the skills for the perfect blue mage opening, j kick, all the extreme damage spells...etc. nowadays it seems way harder...not sure if I am wrong. But it feels way harder. Thanks for answering!

i'm filing this under anti-fun like 25 and 29, though at least it doesn't drag on like 25 did. I can't believe this is what passes for peak blue content instead of making eureka and bojangles blue only zones. They were made for blue. And as a last final farewell before I put blue on a shelf where it belongs, I'm really not sold on your healer spell speed only gear set with a sprinkling of det. I'm finding the tiny bit of extra dot damage and the .2 seconds slightly faster cast times to be not really very helpful compared to just doing more damage. This build and your strats basically depend on spamming pom cure constantly to survive. Full aug scavean and three mirage pieces with ss melded as per your guide.
After fighting with this strat, i just gave up and spammed wind and some primals so i didn't go oom. Then just song of torment during meteor along with rain of feathers. Then i just did it really really really slowly. just so slow. managed a clear after weeks of trying.
I am still struggling with this. Combination of bad internet and getting PSD from stage 25 when I see meteor and tornado cause me to panic and miss my timing for certain moves.
It's all good! A big part of it is just calming your nerves and taking it step by step. Try to learn one mechanic at a time. Failing is fine as long as you learn from it!

I just did it on my first try with no sting, it's definitely not harder. I can record one and upload it later or tomorrow but I have raid for most of the day today so it will be a bit.
I have failed for over 2 hours on this fight & have tried at least 30 times. Whoever made it so you have to do each phase every time should be locked in a jail cell with this boss theme playing for the rest of their life. I dodge every single attack (0 vuln stacks) through meteors and die to auto attacks burning my mana for healing. The swear words and phrases I have concocted for this fight could fill a dictionary. I will continue this fight tomorrow when it isn’t 3AM and if I don’t do it by tomorrow I’ll delete my account.

Watch his video on BiS (Best in Slot) gear. You could probably improve your gear and materia to get better dps.
I followed the exact rotation in this video, and it does not work. It took me 8:30 to complete it, so I wasn't able to get the achievement.
Among other things, when I was attempting this, the cooldown for Matra Magic is longer than what's in this video, and it's never ready for reuse at any of the times he recasts it in this video.
Also, he still has about 15%-17% health left in Act 1 by the time I get to the Whistle/Tingle/Triple Trident.
I'm equipped with the lvl 70 poetics gear (the name of which I'm forgetting right now).
I'm late to the party but was stuck on this fight..I see I need some primal spells cuz it seems my dps is to low...fight drags on and I run out of mp
I don't quite understand why sometimes when boss casts slow on me, I dispell the other debuff... and because of that I get hit...

If you're having trouble meeting the time, consider bringing DPS mimicry and sting combo!
@@BlueAcademy I found where I needed to improve. I brought more buffs. Particularly Bristle, Whistle, and Tingle. And I needed to be a little more aggressive. I couldn't be too safe or else I'd go over 7 minutes. I stayed Healer, because the doom mech was too scary to use healing as DPS. And I did rely on the Final Sting combo to finish it off. I got close to a 6:00 time limit.

i have been trying for a year to beat him...i give up
So basically have all kinds of spells i don't have to hurt him. Takes me 10 mins to get through act 1. I have to go HLR cause he hits like a truck. So I'm pom curing my self constantly. Then all I do is put Ath spark bleed on him which basically does nothing. I just use Drill Cannon , Trip trident when up and tingle all these do is small dmg. Can some one tell what is the best DMG spell for the fight? Jesus this BLU is a pain in the ass. Just need a basic guide to get though this so I can get that last TT card.

i'm not really understanding why it's good, so it's one of the few spells i haven't gotten yet.

When you take damage, you then have 15 seconds where you can spam an instant cast 400 potency spells. With a SpS set, that lets you get 7 casts. That's effectively 7 Shock Strikes.
Any spell recommendations for the most recent update, regarding this fight?
Breath of Magic and Mortal Flame are good, but it's still just extra damage at the end of the day.

You need to heal yourself before Doom comes out. When Doom is cast, you also get an Incurable debuff that prevents you from healing.
haha funny loss Final sting did 16% at 19% because it wasn't a CH or DH. with 25% and 22% respectively.

I still cant beat carnival 29. Can you revisit 29 for those bloody hands with the new skills , is it possible to cheese that phase easier. I always unable quickly kill those hands. Get mp 0 and wiped
Unfortunately none of the new skills will really make a big difference there, you kinda just need to do it. You could watch my video where I do it with no Primal spells for an idea of how to do it and just save Primal spells for the hands: th-cam.com/video/bpTWxI74vrs/w-d-xo.html
If I'm not mistaken, I think the small hand is the one that sucks your MP. Kill that one first and then hit the bigger one. I usually slow DPS a bit to wait for the part where I have to hit Living Liquid with Sardine, then finish the second hand off so I can DB safely through LL's follow up knockback.
Gaes. Finally passed 29. Using primals ogcd. Before i start i also practice to use all the ogcd (finding which one should goes first to bombard those hands that does not share with other ogcd primals. Thus not wasting any seconds checking which one still on cooldowns). Also use reflux to both hands before bombard them with primals.
So yeah me in the past was due to panic and untrained on using primals swiftly.

What gearset did you use. I'm unable to get him down fast enough and it's really frustrating seeing how easy it was for you in one go. I've got every single spell you have and it's still not enough.
For this video I was using Elemental (Eureka) armor. Gear doesn't matter as much as making sure you're _always_ casting something, though.
I give up, i finally reached the point where i'm once again too stupid to progress. It takes me like 7-8 minutes just to clear act 1 even though i constantly attack and meteor phase in act 2 is just too much for me.
Why am i even playing at this point.
I was talking to someone recently who was taking 15 minutes for their full clear and just yesterday managed to get the achievement after chipping away at their time. I can try to help you out if you either have a video of a clear or if you want to stream via Discord so I can watch. :)

It should be possible but will still be considerably tighter. If you finish with a buffed Final Sting (about 18% HP) it cuts off a lot of time. DPS Mimicry might help in this case, too.
This is the second guide where you guys are doing more damage than me. Why is my sonic boom only doing 2.3k a hit for example. I have all ilvl400 gear. Am i missing something?
This was recorded before the stat squish, so numbers were higher. I have a more recent one if the numbers are that upsetting, though.
