Yes! Don't let it be the first cenote you dive, but it's an interesting one to put on the list for sure!
During the pandemic I did Zapote as a technical cave dive, you do get quite a bit more time. I dropped down below the cloud, though didn't see much and we did three or four laps around the cavern. IMO it is safer, when I was there despite minimal crowds I saw one rec divers doing laps due to deco and another run out of gas during a safety stop.
Did you see any giant sloth remains? 😮
