How exciting to see your process of mixing unique colors for the color wheel & blending for the tertiary colors! So appreciate the videos you share, especially at this time in my creative drawing/watercolor journey! SO GRATEFUL FOR YOU in your generous giving on TH-cam! THANK YOU, Kelly!

Color choices is all about YOU always. What you like to paint. What colors speak to you. What makes you happy. Those are the reasons for picking a palette, nothing else matters. Thanks so much for watching and commenting!

Color wheels and mixing colors have always confused me. This teaching was so wonderful. Thank you

I'm so happy to hear that, thank you. I love color mixing of any kind and thought I would go a little deeper with this one.

I am thrilled that this video made it a little easier to understand. I do offer a full color mixing course called Cultivated Color (link is in the description box). I did a little intro video about it too here on TH-cam. We fill an entire sketchbook in the course with a lot of hands on techniques, mixing and practice.

I visited the course and it’s perfect for me. Thank you!

Patty-I was very impressed that you used colors that are of an earthy nature. Very interesting results. I also like the idea of putting special mixtures in a pan. Great idea.

Color wheels can be made out of any tones you choose. Earthy, muted and nature inspired are my favorites. Hope this inspired you to go out of the box and choose colors that speak to you!

@kellyhoernig Patty-I love that idea.i love finding new ways of expressing myself. Thank you for showing us another way. I think I'll try it with the Kuretake paints. They're different enough. So many choices, right?

I love the colors, and I love that format. So I copied it! ❤ I'm using my Rosa Gallery set, so I swapped the colors out and used yellow Ocher, Indigo and Burnt Sienna. I used the leftover paint on my palate to do a little picture next to it. Good times. ❤

I love that you took what I showed you and used what you have on hand - brilliant! I know you gained a lot of firsthand experience creating, keep on going!

Hi, Kelly! I really enjoy your videos but I would encourage you to entertain the idea of dimming your filming light. The light is so bright that everything looks washed out; pigments you are using as well as your own skin tone. This causes the color representation to be "off". I hope this does not seem hyper-critical.

I'm working on it, thank you.
