    Thanks Jenny and Greg for covering this important topic!
    As for an idea for another video, maybe you could tell more about the shuttlecocks themselves. What are the differences between them, which ones are worth buying and which ones aren't, and how important is it to use the right ones during practice?

    Aloha Greg and Jenny, awesome video. Commonly, I rarely see any players warm up before and cool down after playing. The result has been many injuries and falls suffered, some so bad it ended their playing altogether. Others limit their play to only a few games due to aches and limited muscle range. During training my professional coaches required warm up and cool down routines before coming on and stepping off the courts. I do so now out of habit. Little did I realize the wisdom of their training. Thanks for placing emphasis on this very important overlooked practice.

I also would like to learn how people could return the shuttle so close to the top of the net when they play drive shots because i drives are never low enough and it makes it so easy for the opponents to smash the shuttle :D

    Hello Greg and Jenny, I’m a new badminton player who just started learning the jump smash. I noticed that when you guys and other badminton players do the jump smash, your legs are folded in the air for awhile. Does the folding of legs come naturally or do I need to fold them while jumping? Sometimes I fold them too much and ended up not being able to hit the shuttle well. That is one question I have always had in mind, would appreciate if you can clarify, thank you!! Sorry for the irrelevant question to the video.

    • @BadmintonInsight
      @BadmintonInsight  2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Hi Jasper! Yes it generally comes naturally during the jumping motion. Don't try to force this is it can often take your mind away from the other (more important) technical parts of the shot! Hope that helps 😊

    Good day .please I have a question. How long can a player wait before they serve in badminton? Is there an amount of time?

      The rules state about not causing "undue delay to the game" - so not a specific amount of time, no!

    Hi, I am Shreya
    I am really serious about badminton, but I am able to go to my academy only thrice a week. I have no one who can feed me the shuttle because of which I am not able to improve my shot quality.
    Are there any practices for improving shot quality which I can do even alone?

    we are playing about 8 persons on court. im very fast, 22 yrs old and my footwork is also quiet good. whenever i finished playing, i feel so pain and tightness on muscles. such as low back, shoulders and hamstrings. but other guys say they dont feel tightness or pain on muscles as same as i feel after finished playing badminton. is that because my playing style might be wrong? or other guys who playing with me are not fast and agile as well as me?

    I'm trying to cut down my weight. In that case, is it necessary to eat a banana post workout??
