There are three types of ELO songs, Excellent ones, exceptional ones and the ones that are out of this world. I wish I could go back and hear them all for the very first time again. I envy you. Enjoy your ELO journey buddy, you're still only a few small inches down the rabbit hole. Subbed.😁
I've loved E.L.O. since the '70's. Your enthusiasm, energy and love for this music is infectious-I love your reactions. Fantastic stuff-respect from Brisbane, Australia.
I feel the frickin same as this dude. I've recently rediscovered this band. Heard this music as a child in the seventies, but now it gives great vibes to me. They've got tons of great tunes as well....
I think I understand what you mean about ELO's songs being the same but different. ELO's fusion of rock and classical music was pretty unique to that group and was the inspired idea of the group's co-founder Jeff Lynne. There were a bunch of talented people in that band, but the creative center was Lynne. He wrote many of the songs, was the lead singer and guitarist, and, most significantly, he produced the songs and did much of the musical arranging, so he had a huge influence on how the finished works sounded. The result was that, while they sounded different from other bands, and their songs were different from one another, ELO still had a very particular signature sound that was fairly consistent and a reflection of Jeff Lynne's vision for the group's music. When we heard a brand new ELO song on the radio back in the day, we knew exactly who we were listening to, even if we had never heard that song before.
Ohhh shit!!@ here we go one of their best..... You give me a great laugh all video's . Cheers. Awwww I see the cross coming adding music to therapy!!!!! Cheers
Aren’t you proud that they are from your side of the pond? Ive always loved them. I saw them live in the 70’s. One concert they had that spaceship as their set. So cool. Thanks for being your groovy-ass self with this.
Haha it made me laugh when your face showed panic thinking it was going to be the end of the song, then the instant joy when you realise there's more to come. Classic tune, I've not heard for a long time! Nice one 😄👍
ELO had a couple of songs that really rocked. One was called 'Don't bring Me Down'. The other was .....'Do Ya'. Well I guess they ALL kind of rocked in their own way.....but those 2 I remember in particular.
@@GarrettEulett Don't Bring Me Down was a filler song to finish "Discovery" as they didn't have enough songs so Jeff just whipped it up in no time. Listen at the end to here the music stand getting kicked over ;) Cheers mate!
It's Truly Hard to Believe Jeff Lynne Completed 4 Album Sides of this Double Album Set of "Out of the Blue on just Two Weeks time & There's not a Tanker in The Bunch. Simply Amazing !
So much joy. I have realised that watching you is the closest I will come to hearing these songs for the first time. I can never hear them for the first time again, but watching you brought me to this place. Jeff Lynne is an under-rated genius. Sold more albums than the Foo Fighters but remains almost unknown. All love, no hate - E.T. ing the F out of here (that needs a t-shirt)
Oh wow what a coincidence. I was just listening to some ELO today. ♥ I was going through my saved music and was in the mood for something different in my saved files. ELO are awesome. ♥I did this one! My favorite! Also their Telephone song. So glad someone else had the same idea.
My good man, your love of good pure music is infectious, I grew up on this in the 60’s and 70’s and it’s like I’m Hearing it again for the first time 😎
Good evening, a new band for you. Steppenwolf song "Pusher Man" a song for all times and a second song is "Magic Carpet Ride". American band formed 1967 until 1972. You are a character keep it up and don't change for anyone be yourself. I still enjoy with glee your reaction to what you listen to.
Love your reactions to elo . I was lucky to see them live in Paris in the 1970s. You remind me of myself. You are on such a great journey. Your reactions are brilliant. 😊😊😊😊😊🎉
Oh man. Dis brings me back to my clubbing days mid-90s. The best club in Singapore was Zouk. We had this thing called Mambo-Jumbo nite at Zouk's, and they played ELO, lots of new wave Brit Pop (Spandau Ballet, Duran2, Queen etc). Such a magical time....🎉❤😊
Hey man quick shoutout to your intro! I love the intro to the intro, gets me a little hyped for your reaction which is the purpose i expect so well done!
LMAO... Mate, if you keep this up we're going to have to send in the fireys [fire-men] to scrape you off the ceiling. Love watching your reactions. So full of joy and energy. A big G'day from Australia.
Do yourself a favour and settle in to listen to the 4 tracks on Side 3 of the album ‘Out of the blue’ in one hit. (Same album as this song)Together they form the concerto for a rainy day and are designed to be listened to in sequence. Its a sequence that represents the pinnacle of ELO and thats a pinnacle of Everest proportions.
Great reaction, Mark! I know exactly what you mean... there is something about their music that instantly makes me happy. Regardless of the lyrics!! Keep it up, brother!
"Sweet Talkin' Woman" is a 1978 single by Electric Light Orchestra (ELO) from the album Out of the Blue (1977). Its original title was "Dead End Street", but it was changed during recording. Some words that survived from that version can be heard in the opening of the third verse, "I've been livin' on a dead end street".[4] The track became the third top ten hit from the LP in the UK, peaking at number 6.[5] As a novelty, initial copies of the 12-inch and 7-inch single formats were pressed in transparent purple vinyl. "Sweet Talkin’ Woman" is written in the key of C major.[6] The version released in the United States was 10 seconds shorter than its British counterpart due to a slightly faster mix. In the US, it reached number 17 on the Billboard Hot 100.[7]
This reminds me of the night the missus and I met. We were listening to ELO, we have been together ever since. That was over 16 years ago. Keep it up man, great reactions 👍 I think Supertramp will give you chills, The logical song or Dreamer, there is many more.👍
they are different but the same BECAUSE Jeff Lynne is the producer, writer, arranger and plays ALL the instruments..... except the strings, but he writes out all the arrangements for said strings.
When I was about 14 or so (1980ish) I got the greatest hits album from Columbia record cliub and fell in love with ELO's music!! Don't bring me down is one of my favorites! Don't know if you did that one yet!?? It's great HECTOR, react to it please and remember!!! FFFFFFFffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffkofffffff!!!! Also Mr. Blue Sky is a great one!
Fucking funny reaction, but when you are done doing the ELO that is all the same, just different, try the song that are differently different (although some might say they sound like more of the same.) I'm thinking of Jeff's post-2000 albums. A lovely song to pick could be _Moment In Paradise_ from Zoom(2001) - and for added fun, then compare it to a song by Jeff from the first Idle Race album The Birthday Party (19-fucking-68! I was _born_ that year!) _The Lady Who Said She Could Fly_ . Your brain will be squeezed so hard it'll either turn into a big diamond (or four small ones), or boil, blow up and vaporise into a purple cloud of steam. I fucking promise!
#HOG in the 🏡. You are exactly right when you say they are all the same, but different. The instrumentals and the singing voices are recognizable, not to be confused with another group. And yet within that construct, they are different in its presentation. Or maybe I'm just as quack as you . Seriously, you're brilliant in your own unique way. Appreciate your genuine love of your journey and allowing us to go on it with you.
It makes sense, what you say. In some ways ELO is the same, yet they change, too. Each song is unique, to the point you might not recognize it. But the same basic thread that connects their songs is still there.
I dunno when u was born, but ELO is part of my life... seem that r there in urs too. Jeff Lynne is kinda "father" to me. And that's y my ELO playlist it that long... wait... longer than the thing u talked about in "telephone line" intro. ;-)
People underestimate how good they harmonize and how good it sounds when they say Hold on hold sweet talking woman it’s so sad if that’s the way it’s over is just so pure
ELO just always put you in a happy place, don't they? I love them and Jeff Lynne so much. Mark, please give Telephone Line a listen. I'd also encourage you to check out Jeff Lynne in the George Harrison tribute "While My Guitar Gently Weeps." As a bonus, you get Prince, Tom Petty and Steve Winwood as well!
This is the first single I ever bought, I love that you said “I would never have listened to this” if you want to try something different check out The Cure “A Forest”
"Jungle" off the same album is right up your alley. I find it to be a happier song than mr blue sky. It's just a big dance party and everyones invited.
Sweet Talkin' Woman is one of their biggest hits, reaching number 2 in the charts, and was on their best selling album, "Out Of The Blue". Side three of this album is a four song piece called "Concerto For A Rainy Day" which is about how the weather affects your mood. Mate, it is so jaw-droppingly good, it will totally blow you away. 19 minutes long (about the same as some Pink Floyd songs!), please please please check it out. I just want to see your expression of pure disbelief! 🎸😎❤
Mark wont be able to cope with 19 majestic minutes of music, his head will explode, A concerto for a rainy day is a piece that once you hear it , if you died tomorrow, god would be waiting for you on the other side,on his decks, spinning ELO as you walked through those pearly gates.
I'd like to suggest a deep cut from the album 'Discovery', and the song is called 'On The Run'. You'll never find it on one of their Greatest Hits comps, but it's an absolutely fantastic song, and one of the best on 'Discovery'.
You, young man, have injected sooo much fun & excitement into all of us who grew up with all this amazing music 🎉🎵💃💃💃
Thank you Mary😊😊😊😊😊
Yeah we were spoiled growing up eh! Even our young millenials think its the best
There are three types of ELO songs, Excellent ones, exceptional ones and the ones that are out of this world. I wish I could go back and hear them all for the very first time again. I envy you. Enjoy your ELO journey buddy, you're still only a few small inches down the rabbit hole. Subbed.😁
Damn your reactions just crack me up! Don’t ever stop or change what you’re doing, you’re an absolute blast to watch!
The music of ELO/Jeff Lynne is like peeling an onion. So many layers. And as you peel them away…you find genius at the core. Your joy is proof ❤❤❤
Just lovely to see a young guy like yourself listening to the music of my youth... where did the years go.. .remember listening to this back in 1977!
Yes!!! 😂😁🙌❤️. I remember dancing to this at my senior prom in 77. 🥰😂👍🏼❤️✨
Hanging out on my neighbor's porch in the evening listening to ELO - I was about 16 at the time!
This song literally gets me high.
Jeff Lynne rocks! Thank God I was a teenager during the 70s.

Jeff reaches in to your soul and spirit and happiness flow's out ❤️
Jeff Lynne. I am blessed to have had him and ELO during my teen years. The soundtrack of my youth.
Love this one❤❤❤
ELO is just amazing!
Ohhh shit!!@ here we go one of their best.....
You give me a great laugh all video's .
Cheers. Awwww I see the cross coming adding music to therapy!!!!!

Omg I forgot about this song!!! I LOVE this song!!!!!!!!!!! #ItsAllTheSameButDifferent 🤣💯🙌
Ahhh, ELO's music just immediately puts ya in a good mood 😆
Their full version of Roll Over Beethoven, is absolutely phenomenal!
ELO is definitely a Happy Place...hearing their music!🤗
You make me so happy watching your reactions…thank you.!!!!
Awesome reaction!,😃 love how ELO uses cello's and violins 🎻in their music. 🎶 Highly recommend "Do - Ya". Thank you! Peace! 🙏
I forgot how happy and light that music was.... Thanks, Mark!
Haha it made me laugh when your face showed panic thinking it was going to be the end of the song, then the instant joy when you realise there's more to come. Classic tune, I've not heard for a long time! Nice one 😄👍
Your happiness makes me happy 😁
ELO had a couple of songs that really rocked. One was called 'Don't bring Me Down'. The other was .....'Do Ya'. Well I guess they ALL kind of rocked in their own way.....but those 2 I remember in particular.
Don't Bring Me Down was the first ELO song not to feature any orchestral instruments
Yeah Do Ya is a stone cold banger.
@@GarrettEulett Don't Bring Me Down was a filler song to finish "Discovery" as they didn't have enough songs so Jeff just whipped it up in no time. Listen at the end to here the music stand getting kicked over ;) Cheers mate!
Your enthusiasm and utter joy of this music makes me remember how truly fantastic Jeff Lynne tunes were, also makes me smile.
ELO's songs are instantly recognizable--mainly because there was no one else who sounded anything like them or used the instrumentisation in that way.
Awesome track from ELO and thanks for sharing your reaction, it’s a like and thumbs up.😄👍#elo

And there most well known tune, “Born To Be Wild.” Get your motor runnin’
You need a dose of
Hector everyday 😊❤
That robotic voice is called a vocoder, a mainstay for ELO's sound going forward.
Give Rock n Roll is King. Love it xx
I clicked so fast, I knew your brain was going to be scrambled.
This is the same album as the Concerto for a Rainy Day!
Thanks, kiddo! I love your reactions! lol (love those call-backs, right?)
Love your reactions to elo . I was lucky to see them live in Paris in the 1970s. You remind me of myself. You are on such a great journey. Your reactions are brilliant. 😊😊😊😊😊🎉
I so love the backing vocals on the chorus: “run run”

I swear ELO have an element on their mixes that's just labelled "endorphins"
Dude,,,,your reactions are just sooooo GREAT. ELO is good shit,,,,💥💥💥👍🤪

Listen to Scifimonkey! He knows what he's talking about. 👍
Agreed, though I worry about how he’d be after all that 😄
They do have a few songs that aren't as light. "Mission (A World Record)" is a favorite of mine, and "Telephone Line" is brilliant.
"Big Wheels" from Out of the Blue is another.
Mr. Blue sky is my favorite!
Great reaction, Mark! I know exactly what you mean... there is something about their music that instantly makes me happy. Regardless of the lyrics!! Keep it up, brother!
I had to pull over and watch lol. Dancing in my car lol💜💜💜
Hector, your a breathe of fresh air. Love your unique style of reacting. Having lived in England, saw them at Wembly back in the 70's.
Enjoy the ride.
My favorite group and song all my life. Your joy is exactly how I feel whenever I hear them.😊

My favourite feel good vibe track from ELO is 'All Over The World' you'll love it
Again, thank you, I had the stupidest grin on my face all the way through that 😁
Absolutely imperative is to listen to TWILIGHT

Oh Yes....and then Shine A Little Love.
Yep
Other cool ELO songs to check: All Over The World, Last Train to London, Do Ya, Rockaria, Twilight. 🐨
"Jungle" off the same album is right up your alley. I find it to be a happier song than mr blue sky. It's just a big dance party and everyones invited.

FYI They still tour every so often.
The very happiest song by ELO is Mr. Blue Sky! Hope you get to it soon! 🥰

It's like getting an electric jolt, you just CAN'T sit still while listening to this.
