My mate had an ek3 with a h22a swap and he overtook a 300ish bhp special cayman like it was stood still at 136. they were the most powerful 4cyl engine ever till the shite Ringland breaking torqueless f20c. an h22 with an H to B S80 lsd box is sucha wicked combo and they love boost on stock internals ❤

We shared a gatage with the owners of those MG things. Both MG bodied with MX5 running gear with the 2.5 duratec engines that seem to be popping up lately. Quick in a straight line but i think the green one was on old school crossplys, hence the mega slow cornering. The VTEC crossover is pretty brutal sounding. Nothing nothing nothing HOOOOOOOOONK! Love it!

Loved this shape Accord, especially in 99 BTCC spec. This one had the typical Honda sychro crunch, usually its on 3rd gear. That Integra that you drove at Castle Combe was the closest engine noise to a BTCC car that ive heard. That sounded mega. The induction on that was incredible. Great video.
Love me a good Super Touring era car, seemed to go well around the corners! Intake noises very nice Helmet mic quality sounds to have improved, that's nice

I’ve had the thought of building a btcc replica / inspired track car from the 90’s and 2000’s I’m a big Honda fan, if it was going to be based on any of them it would be an Accord, the majority of the manufacturers at the time reversed the heads on the engines, and it’s the same with the Honda’s, then you were able to fit throttle bodies and get big air into the inlets… just goes to show there is still a difference In power compared to the K series, but also shows it’s still a heavy car even with a lot taken out of it ….
Have owned more ATRs than I can count and after finally moving away from them I am of the belief that the chassis is supreme for a saloon but is hindered by the H22. If someone made an off the shelf Kswap kit I'd have one back in a heart beat.
I agree. Flawed package and sadly it’s the engine. Narrow powerband, ridiculously long gearing and doesn’t feel fast in stock form. Steering is lovely however. B16/B18 are fun to thrash, these aren’t. I found the H22 frustrating. K20/k24 would transform it
I remember a friend having a similar shifting crunch due to it being a cable shifter rather than a gear linkage, it needed a slightly slower shift. The hard limiter feeling was the same too, it's almost like a Gran Turismo limiter, I guess maybe they're just quirks of the car?
Hmmm Danny….one of those would be a great BTCV style race-car build…maybe with a build K20/24 on ITB‘s like the DC5 you run a few episodes back? Supertouring (at least the earlier years till ‘96/‘97) still was one of the best era of late touring-cars 👌🏼

@@dannyDC2 ok cheers. My mot man did say the rear brakes were a bit weak. I think i need to open the bias valve a couple clicks, to bring the balance closer. Is there any way to test that, besides slamming on the brakes at 100 mph ? Haha
The old school Honda engine vtec cross over is 100% worth being a bit slower than the k engines I think.
Gotta feeling type r h22 (stock) have more power then a (stock) k series

Danny was it on ns2r or ar1 ? just about couldn’t tell. In my opinion the ns2r are Ok for the money but they are nothing compared to the Toyo r888r

Great. U will be slower. The h22 needs some non vtec time after the Shift. To change it, optimize gearbox. Keep the gears short.

I've heard you mention on a few videos, abs delete, being a bit dodgy. I've deleted the abs and traction on my car. Anything to worry about ?
