I think they have been working hard under the radar this first part of 2021… by the end of the year i think we will have our loyalty rewarded on the af trickery front…. We still have it the best in every other way in my opinion… nikon just needs to get this new firmware/algorithm out to silence the critics, there cameras are more than capable for sure!
2 years later, I would have laughed that Jared was using SONY A1 in 2021 as temporary solution :> Just kidding, A1 is solid, just no integrated grip, and AF could use some improvements. Canon users don't even think about it because of R5.
Methinks, Jared has a prototype of the Z9 in hand and is beta testing. Why else would he "hint" about Nikon?? Of course, with an NDA he can't say, but he is laying down a marker if Nikon responses to his input and makes the corrections. If the Z9 surpasses Cannon/ Sony, Jared's story will come full circle as he comes back home for the last time!!!
@@gordonyz4 It's better without the grip, this way you have the flexibility of using it or not, rather than being stuck with a massive brick. I do not think there will be a lot of people buying the r3 over the r5 for that reason only. Anyways the a1 still smokes everything else at least until 2022 (both video and stills).
Nah, you want Nikon in the arena to help push the technology forward. With just two companies, they’ll get complacent, I think. Look at American car companies for my case in point. Ford & GM are on top, Dodge/Chrysler were way down there, except for minivans and the Chargers and Challengers. They helped push the Mustang and Camero comebacks. They are rising up fast, as what else do Ford and GM really make? Pickups? So a third market player is always good. Same with third market lens companies like Sigma et al, more competition makes better products for everyone!
Fwiffo, I agree with you. I’m a Nikon shooter, and I’ve always thought that if something were to happen to other brands, that would be bad for me. I have an iPhone, but I hope Samsung and other brands keep thriving. I really don’t get the “I use brand X, so I wish other brands a bunch of bad things.” It’s not good for anyone! Some people are severely short-sighted in this respect.
"many of you still get the results that you are looking for from Nikon mirrorless"; I'm still getting good results from my D750 that I bought brand new for under £1000.
Agreed if you're mainly photo no need to switch - I have a D750 its great - but Im hybrid now and want the quickest and easiest AF to make my life easy and that isn't Z yet.
Never sleep on the Big 3. Their supremacy is always generational because it takes time to put out a great product. As a Canon fanboy, it was difficult while Sony reigned the mirrorless market. That’s until the R6 and R5 came out. Good things come to those who wait.
Used Nikon for 17 years.. was waiting since 3 years hoping they will update autofocus system. Now i regret that i waited this long. Finally bought sony a7iv and difference is day and night. Transition started. Will be selling all 9 lenses and 3 nikon bodies
I have to say, your older Nikon shots seen throughout the video show some true inspiration, your excitement as a young photographer shining through in a way I don't always get with your newer stuff. Perhaps some of this has to do with a change in focus on your career path and goals within the photography realm (i.e. demonstrating technical aspects and quality of the equipment, although some of your more recent work I've seen was outside of the informative/educational area); but I can't help but wonder if the emotional attachment to that Nikon equipment back in the day still had something to do with it. Some of us view tools of the trade as simply tools, but others get inspired by the tools that connect with them. The quality on those images holds up so well, along with the artistic content making me want to explore some of your earlier work. I say this with all due respect as a casual observer, and I fully understand and appreciate your perspective and experience as expressed in this video. As a Z6 owner and Nikon shooter, in general, I think it's all pretty spot on. If I were in a professional situation where snappy autofocus on par with the best of what's out there today was critical, I doubt I'd still be shooting this Z6. I hope Nikon releases something in the near future that wows you (partially selfish, because it would mean we all benefit as Nikon lovers), but until then, you have to do what makes the most sense for your professional style, situations, and career.
Thankfully I never use autofocus so I’ve stuck with Nikon. Your comment is spot on. I wish the Z6 felt as fluid in my hand as my d750. Customers and bystanders have told me I look like im dancing on my shoots - it’s that fluid and I can operate that camera like a musician plays an instrument. I’ve developed a rhythm with it. Hoping the next mirrorless is just as ergonomic or I’ll just stick with the d7XX series as long as I can
Indeed. Jared's emphasis on the importance (to him) of eye auto-focus and similar techy bells and whistles makes me wonder how he ever got a decent shot with his Nikon F or any manual focus camera. While it can be fun to play with, methinks he relies too much on the latest technology. I have a prehistoric D700 and much newer D850. I'm so pleased with them both that I never look at or even consider what other toys may be out there.
This man looks like a crying child,he thinks that he can help nikon by making a video of how he used to love nikon camera and making decisions for the company lmao.
@@itsjim2875 True true true.Young generations especially 1980,1990s kids look like seeking mediocre in work, they don't have the true eyes for art.I am as a kid of Z generation which i prefer both digital and old school methods such as film photography.I can happily use my smartphone or especially obsolete film cameras with manual exposure and focus, and manual aperture it gives me the feel when i was a kid and film were used.I don't know why bigger kids don't have this feeling.
Its interesting how we rely so much on tech these days to capture the images we want whereas back in the day it was up to the photographer and their skill-set and knowledge from years of shooting. Does the *tech* allow more people to make money from photography these days or is it talent? Just a thought.
I think tech is fine, but if my camera, any brand, doesn't respond, me as the photographer can immediately take control. That's our job. So I agree with you
Im sure you still ride a horse in town right? Automobiles? Who needs that! Tech is a tool and does not define you as a photographer. Your rethoric is pointless.
@@oscarbaezsoria1650 that's completely unrelated, there was so much more attention to detail on DLSRs , everyone on mirrorless relays way too much on the AF and on the EVF.
I sold my D850 and holding on to my z6ii hoping for a new camera from Nikon that prevents me from jumping ship. Only reason I haven't done it so far is the color science and dynamic range.
Share your sentiment… I bought a Z6ii (switch from Nikon 810D) despite all the negative reviews on face detect auto focus because I don’t do sports or events. Also canon lenses and camera bodies are hard to come by where I live… too heavily invested in Nikon glass. But mostly it’s because it still has the best image quality and color rendition
me too. how much megapixels would do you wish for the Zf FX? i'm very happy with my Df with 16mp. but i believe no camera manufacturer will return below 20mp. but i wish a low megapixel count. i think this kind of cameras is for street, reports maybe archtecture and less for sports, highend landscapes wich needs high mp. so cropping and huge prints are not in focus. in contraire i wish "small" raw files and easy processing.
As a Z 6II owner, I agree. If you're a sports or events photographer, you simply can't trust the Eye AF. But if you're shooting portraits, landscapes, products, and general use you are ok. I do wish Nikon gets another firmware update this year that finally gets the Eye AF on par with Sony and Canon. If they do it will be huge, and maybe they can finally get out of this bad PR they have created for themselves.
My opinion is that the current functionality of the Z AF is not bad but it’s not up to the times. In comparison to what canon and Sony are doing it is definitely behind but it works you just need to be more selective with the area mode you use for a given situation. I definitely Agree about the bad PR. I think they rushed to get into the mirrorless market and the system just wasn’t ready and they haven’t been able to live it down. The quality of the images from the Nikon is still top notch so yeah the only real limiting factor is the tracking AF but I hear that they are releasing a firmware next month that will give the Z6ii and Z7ii similar AF functionality to what the Z9 is going to have which is rumored to be good. Fingers crossed I guess 🙂
It certainly will release firmware eventually, why else they put two CPU's inside - to accommodate upcoming more calculation-demanding versions of AF... Well it will work only if hardware is up to the task. So far no signs of pushing AF forward. Otherwise Nikon has the best image quality for my taste.
I own a z6 ii, I too am looking forward to what Nikon releases in form of future updates. But at the same time I am a bit worried ever since I heard Nikon is cutting down on R&D. I hope they're NOT cutting down on R&D in their software development department, since that is seriously holding them back, the hardware is there(dual processors), image quality and build quality is great, the lenses perform way above their respective grades. I just wish software too gets better, soon.
@@Anshulgairola97 Agree! If one of the camera companies is smart, and personally I hope Nikon figures that out, they make a “platform” out of their camera’s. So you get frequent software updates and maybe even some kind of app store for.
I recently started shooting indoor volleyball. First time I'm shooting sports. I use a Z7, 1st gen. So I was really afraid that I would be missing a lot of shots due to bad face/eye detect. After 1 month of shooting, I must say I basically get 90% of faces in perfect focus because I don't use face detect at all. Face detect in Z7 gen 1 is useless in sports since there are many faces in your frame and switching between them during the game is really hard. With Z7 II I'd use face detect in wide area modes to focus on a single face. I use face/eye detect when I'm shooting serves, since there's only one player in the frame, and I get 90% perfectly focused eyes with that as well. And during the game, wide area small covers the faces pretty well. So when I started shooting I couldn't wait for Z9 to drop so I have a much better sports body to shoot these games, but after one month, I'm not sure if I need anything better than Z7 since I'm getting a keeper from every position in the game anyway. Sure I must be missing some positions due to AF failing, but out of 1500 or so photos per game, I have more than enough keepers to keep the client happy. I also fail to get the importance of face/eye detect during sports shooting. Since there are many faces in your frame, to let the camera know which face to focus on, you must follow that face manually using the lens anyway and you need to keep the face in your EVF. So It's not totally automatic for any camera out there. Sure, keeping the face in your EVF might be slightly easier than keeping the square on the face of the player, but I doubt there's a huge difference in "convenience". At this point, what we are discussing is the difference between getting 90% of all shots in perfect focus vs 99% of all shots in perfect focus. So it's pretty much diminishing returns.
Nikon shooter from Philippines 😊 Started with D3000 then got a hand with stashed FG with two lenses then bought other film lenses because of the same F Mount. Decided to go FF with D700 because of the Crop Factor of D3000 using film lenses, will be upgrading soon with FF DSLR with video function. Even the trend right now is Mirrorless, I will still be sticking with DSLR and the possibility of going to Mirrorless if DSLR production has stopped.
Nikon Shooter from the Philippines as well. Nice to see you are going FF with D700. Although I still like using crop sensor (D5600 + 50mm) due to the extra reach, I would love to try out FF as well but this upgrade will likely be a mirrorless. However, upgrading to FF mirrorless or switching camera brands is like super more expensive in our place.😂 For that, I'll be sticking with my DSLR as well. If video is needed, a ZV-1 or other budget video-oriented cameras will do.
@@carlneraphoto Budget is another reason why I'll be sticking with DSLR, either going mirrorless or changing brand the end point is that extra spending of money. Actually I've been comparing Nikon FF DSLR with video function when I'll be upgrading soon as for lenses I have enough to cover almost all angle: 17-35mm AF-D 2.8, Series E 28mm 2.8, Series E 50mm 1.8 (Bokeh), Micro-NIKKOR 55mm 2.8 AIS, Series E 36-72mm 3.5, Series E 135mm 2.8 and Series E 70-210mm 4 (Macro focusing). The Series E lenses are the budget lenses and have decent optical performance.
@@GDragon013 I agree. Budget is a big factor in sticking with DSLR. However, this teaches us that whatever we have right now, make the most out of it. - Then again, we don't live in a place where changing and upgrading gear is an everyday thing. It took me a long time to upgrade to 50mm. Shooting on a Nikon does not mean our photos/video are inferior or Shooting on Sony/others does not make our photos/video superior either. It really up to what we do with it. - Great choice of lenses though. I saw the Series E and I like their design and performance. If you get really good at doing MF, you can use those skills to your advantage in filmmaking and video. :)
I do shoot weddings on Nikon cameras and the fact that I can get it to work is why I have such an issue with your Nikon videos. It's not impossible as you make it seem, even if it isn't as easy as it may be on other systems.
@@jonweinraub “Not as easy as other systems” isn’t unusable. You can shoot weddings successfully on Fuji. Moreover, it’s not like Jared is gonna switch if the Z system is suddenly as good as Sony, because he’s already shooting Sony. Canon overnight became as good as Sony and he still shoots Sony. That’s the point. He can’t do a lens review now without talking about eye AF for the entirety of the video.
@James WrightHis argument is not that the system is fine and that it’s just a little behind. Why even type this much just to completely misrepresent what he’s said?
Great video- hopefully they listen. I started with Nikon as well, an 8008s back in the film days. Loved their cameras. Side note, I had no idea you had shot so many big time entertainers. Well done sir!

I’m sorry, but the AF is not as bad as a lot of folk are making it. Ok, yes, Canon and Sony are better right now, but the majority of professional sports photographers shoot with DSLRs. And even so, the current Z cameras aren’t intended for true sports professionals, that’s what the Z9 is designed for and will likely hit grand slams when it hit the market. Some seem to not take the time to learn the Z system fully, especially with firmware updates, it’s better each time. One thing that cannot be denied above all is the amazing and just phenomenal files from the Z sensors, and the glass is SECOND TO NONE! The new mount is an absolute game changer!
The glass is second to none my ass. 🤣 I wouldn't trade my RF glass in for Z glass even if it was 1/2 the price. It'll be a cold day in Hell before Nikon even comes close to the RF 70-200 2.8, the RF 28-70 f/2, the 1.2 primes, or even the f/2.8 zooms. The optical quality is simply unbeaten. As Jared made the point in this video, you need to ACTUALLY SHOOT WITH THIS STUFF to truly get it. I knew the RF 28-70 was good. I simply never imagined HOW good until I had it in my hands.
@@longliveclassicmusic So you’ve shot with all of the new S lenses??? I didn’t say the RF glass is not good, but you make a statement as if your everyday has been with the S lenses. The new 70-200 2.8S is one of the best 70-200s ever made…
@@longliveclassicmusic Also, Jared has shown that he does not fully understand the use of the Z system, recently did a lens review and it’s entirety was a camera bash, and he has done other reviews and clearly did not know all the settings before the review, he even said it himself that it was what Nikon told him, so his credibility is suspect. You can listen to him if you want, but you need to read between the lines in the process…
@@longliveclassicmusic yikes I actually shot with both the Canon RF and Nikon Z 2.8 zooms and I’d choose the Nikon versions every time if I could. Just better. Take your head out ya behind.
This is so accurate. I use Nikon as you know and their auto focus needs some serious work. I don’t want to switch because the raw files are amazing. I hope they see this and understand that the loyal fans of Nikon are all saying the same thing. We want Nikon to succeed not to fail.
From an engineering standpoint I am extremely suspicious of any claims that there are significant differences across manufacturers in quality, especially esthetic quality, in raw files. Most of the "differences" come in the CLUT, or color look-up table. This is something your software editing program loads, not the camera itself. Or, by "raw" do you mean "JPEG"? The ultimate quality of the raw file itself mostly comes from the quality of the lens you use and the format and pixel density of the sensor. Check around and see if any of your friends have experience in color grading. With a little more experimentation in color toning and grading, I'll bet you can make your Nikon raw files (or any other manufacturer's raw files) even more amazing.
The AF is fine unless you shoot sports of birds in flight at a high(ish) frame rate, in which case the slide show effect is seen ie the viewfinder lags the action.
My first 35mm camera was a Mamiya/Sekor. Purchased it from the Ships Store on the first Ship I served on while in the Navy. In 1972 I upgraded to my First Nikon. At the time Nikon was know for their Glass. And with the Nikon F it was the camera the professionals used. Many of these used in Vietnam. First Nikon was a Nikkormat. Then first digital was the D70 and now shoot with a D500, D4 and a Df. These are the only cameras I will ever have. I am 73 and retired. I have started shooting film and have a F2, F4 and an S2. Guess I will die sometime but I hope Nikon doesn’t die with me.
People that still clown and say "We did it without this shit for years" are bananas. If better tech exists, we are allowed to criticize when something falls short. Cameras are tools, and corporations need YOUR support. Not the other way around. Stoked you made this video sound earnest and resisted using the good ol' Fro Knows cocky tone. I think that makes this critique really valuable.
I remember when I worked a Circut City and wanted a Nikon D40 so badly. I couldn't afford a $400 camera at the time. I always thought I'd end up with a Nikon but after the years have passed I've jumped on the Canon train and never plan on getting off. I will always remember that Nikon at work that got me interested in cameras. So I can kind of thank Nikon for sparking my interest and where it has lead me to.
I get the point you're trying to make, and I agree that Nikon needs to catch up to Canon and Sony, but to suggest for instance that a wedding photographer would not be able to get the shot of the bride walking down the aisle when that shot has not been a problem is decades is a bit of a reach. When you know that you need to get that shot, then you go for the AF mode that you know works (move the focus point!). It's not like wedding photographers all of a sudden forgot how they used to do it just because new tech showed up... You yourself got plenty of awesome shots with old tech before Eye AF and lock-on tracking was a thing, and I'm sure you could keep shooting the old way if you had to, with great results.
Exactly. Skilled photographers have been getting photos without all this technology for ages. I use the technology to help me but do I rely on it like a crutch? Hell no. That’s where our skill and understanding of the tools come in and we adjust. Too many photographers are lazy and I’m surprised he’s no complaining it doesn’t take the photo for him.
@@RobbieAdamss i agree with all of this. Other systems make getting the shot easier, but to claim that shots that pro photographers have been getting for years all of a sudden are hard to get doesn't pass my sniff test. If eye AF doesn't work reliably for you when it matters, turn it off, because what matters is getting the shot, not how. It's the same reason people still get fantastic shots with old cameras and don't *need* the latest and greatest for pro work, even though it might not be the easiest tool to work with.
@@fadiheterjag yeah, yeah, a great photographer can get great shots even with manual focus, BUT, doing that slows you down, and you WILL miss other shots because of it. During a wedding, you can't be asking to stop the ceremony to make sure you got the shot. Also, Jared showed us video proof that the Nikons can't even find focus sometimes, even with a well lit subject right in front of the camera.
@@charminbaer2323 have you ever been to a wedding where the photographer needed to stop the ceremony to get the shot? Have we lost our collective memory here? It's not that hard to get the shot with a focus point that you move around, mediocre photographers have been doing that for quite a while now... Not unless you're talking sports or wildlife, but a bride walking down the aisle? How fast is the bride moving, really?
Did not have any focusing issues like the ones you described even with the first gen Z 6. My main pain point is ergonomics - you can‘t have single point AF plus Eye AF by pushing an „override“ button. Moving a wheel and pushing a button takes too long.
Nice video. I understand you have to make this content as it's your job to be critical of all photography equipment. This is how you get paid. As a photographer it's far more important to know your camera so well that it gets out of the way. I stick to my point that I have not seen any real improvement in this year's Olympic photos since all of this cool tech came out after 2016. If you take a look at the best of the 3500 shots from Getty, so many have closed eyes, hands covering faces in anguish, wide shots with groups etc. Very few actually could benefit from eye af. Lots of really great shots, a few not tack sharp and in focus. For all the hot air, the actual results are really similar. It's in the interest of camera companies to make you want to upgrade, and reviewers get paid to review this new stuff as it appeals to thier audience. In the end, it's the camera you have that takes your best shot. Get to know your camera
I started with an FE with Nikkor AI-S 50/1.8 in 1978. After that it became FE2, F-601, F90 and F100. Now I have the D500 and five lenses. Best photo wishes from Liselotte in Sweden.
Thank you. I’m still shooting events with two Nikon D750s because I hate changing systems and relearning operations, lenses and losing muscle memory built around my cameras and lenses through the years. I thank you because you have me believe there’s no point in changing to Nikon mirrorless, IF considering AF and comparing it to competition. And, to me, AF matters. I don’t want to have the trouble of changing system to Z cameras, when the AF they have is not fluid as competition. Like you say, if I wanna autofocus DSLR style having the focus point at the center and thumb focusing, I might as well keep on shooting DSLR and have the other benefits of using D750 and not changing system. I’m looking forward to Nikon taking your word seriously and making the AF that will blow our minds.

Your best video yet!! Like the way you use the typewriter to add to the story! I too was a Nikon shooter until last year after ditching the Z6 and going with Canon! And haven’t looked back!
I just dove head first into mirrorless and even with a friends and family discount at Nikon I just couldn’t do it, I went with an R6 and couldn’t be happier (that’s a lie, my bank account is much smaller after buying glass).
Im Nikon - I looked at the R6 until I realised you can't save custom video settings and there is no dedicated photo/video switch - that forces you to the R5 if your doing fast paced hybrid work. So Im waiting patiently to see if they can catch up - or the A74 is released
Well, very long time ago I used, and liked Pentax. Then autofocus came along and I went to Canon but there were something missing so I tried Nikon and it was, and is, a perfect match. I think photography is so much more than having the best autofocus. So Nikon, you had your days, you had your time, you are yet to have your finest hour...
Amen to that!!! We bought a used Nikon D 7200 as a backup camera, and were shocked at how good that camera really is! We still are mainly Canon users, but have a new respect for the Nikon name and brand. Cheers!!!
Excellent! I hope they pulled everyone in the boardroom and made them watch this video. I have been watching you for a while, finally subscribed today. You said it all for the Nikon community.
I have used the 3 systems and in my case they are on par. I get the same results in terms of autofocus accuracy from the three, with some advantage for Nikon since I am more familiar with it. I prefer Nikon image quality, I'm used to the system and to me is the best overall value offer of the three. So different people, different opinions and different results
This is most certainly an issue of user error. Both the latest gen Canon and Sony cameras are much, much more reliable in terms of af than the current Nikons if all three are used correctly.

@@qiyuxuan9437 It did, however even with current firmware, the Z cameras still do considerably worse in terms of autofocus than their Canon and Sony competition. E.g. following the logic of this vid, you would never enjoy old vintage lenses, because no auto-focus. Dear Jared, please return to enjoy being a photographer. Respectfully, Jacob.
I think you have absolutely missed the point. I have shot Nikon for about 25-30 years and I still do but just for personal fun and a hobby now. In this market if someone misses a couple of shots and word gets out, you might find yourself replaced in a hurry. Good video. I am back using Nikons for the last year and a half after going with a Sony A7iii for exactly one year and had a number of lenses for the Sony and a battery grip. Before the Sony I had Nikon DSLRs, full and crop sensor. I liked the way the Sony A7iii focused on eyes. I liked a couple of the Sony lenses a lot, the 55mm f1.8 and 24-104 f4 G. But the Sony did not fit my hands well with or without grip. I tried the Sony A7RIV before going back to Nikon but holding it in my hand was still not nearly as comfortable as Nikon. And I also hated the Sony menu and control system. My Z7 and Z50 work well for me and the type of shooting I do. So far I have never had a card failure in ten years of Nikon digital cameras and don't care about one card slot. Plus I just almost always never use AI auto focus find to locate my subjects. I also never use AI to auto drive my Tesla model Y that has the full self drive package. And the real bottom line for me with regards to using Nikon and not Sony is that the Nikon files in my opinion for the stills and videos I do are just far better right out of camera than the Sony. It is so easy to switch from stills to video with Nikon. I find the Nikon Z lenses to be excellent. Plus both of my cameras fit my hands really well. If I had a big camera budget I would buy a Nikon D850 and some lenses. I like a number of things about DSLRs over mirrorless. Always on viewfinder with no delay, mechanical lenses also with no delay, controls I can find and use without looking. And if I ever won the lottery I might get a Leica M10P with 50mm Sumicron, 35mm, and 135mm lenses.
As a Nikon shooter I cannot dispute any of the points you make; you are factually correct that Nikon's autofocus & tracking system is not at the same level as Sony/Canon right this moment. I am also super impressed that you are self-aware enough to recognise that your continued slamming of this element of the camera will have had a negative impact on their brand and their sales. Every time the big influencers like yourself make loud claims there are probably 100-1000 smaller creators who jump on the band wagon and join in - then the rightly held opinion of one becomes a whole load of fake news in the eyes of consumers. Nikon has an underpar focusing system (when compared to the other two brands but not necessarily overall) becomes Nikon sells terrible cameras - which we all know it does not For me personally, as a long time viewer and someone who feels you have every right to point out Nikon's shortcomings, it's in the narrative. You rightly say that you were harsh on Sony, you have been harsh on Canon but I just feel personally your harshness towards Nikon has been a level above. Maybe in your mind it hasn't - it's all about opinions - but compare the development announcement for the Z9 & R3 - you derided Nikon for about 3 minutes and made one joke about Canon... But where I think you could actually help Nikon - the brand you claim to (and I believe you genuinely do) love is change your narrative slightly. Take your lens review - 90% of it bashed the system (we get it) rather than focusing on the quality of the images when you achieved focus. If the system isn't to your liking test the lens in a scenario where the camera is awesome (landscape, lower movement photography etc) and focus on the GOOD and bad of the lens itself; you're easily a good enough photographer not to need the AF for a lens review. When it comes to the Z6/7 recognise its not a PRO camera - pro-sumer at best - and its v1 vs Sony V3 and Canon V2. When discussing them you could easily say that for you its not where it needs to be and if you're a sports or wedding photographer it may not yet be right for you BUT if you shoot landscapes or lower movement situations OR don't want to use eye/face or auto AF then the system is excellent; highlight that if you are not a professional (the majority of customers and I suspect your audience aren't) then they system is brilliant and great value. Focus more on what is great and in many cases BETTER than the current Sony & Canon cameras with the acknowledgement that it has its limitations RATHER than the AF system is sh*t so the camera is sh*t We all know that Nikon has been restructuring the business (they don't have the deep pockets of Canon & Sony) and are now back in profit; they probably haven't been able to throw the same level of money at R&D as the other 2 and are keeping up in the vast majority of specs as best they can. Lets not forget they have invested in the mount which will set them up for decades - something Sony & Canon will eventually have to do - guess I guess my over-riding wish watching this is that your future videos focus on helping Nikon not making them a joke; highlighting their positives not obsessing on one aspect of the camera that isn't where you need it to be. Lift them up and showcase where they are doing well while holding them to account where they are not. Yes part of this is your style and no-one would expect you to blow sunshine up Nikon's butt however you do have a huge platform, you do have the ability to influence both smaller creators and consumers who watch these videos - Give Nikon the credit they deserve from time to time and help the brand you love get back to the top table where they surely will!
The upcoming Z9 will be Nikon's 'D3 moment' for mirrorless! Stay tuned, all Nikon lovers out there! Having said that I wish Nikon will continue making DSLRs (D6S, D880), I still hugely prefer the OVF.
Maybe, maybe not. In any case those cameras are for professionals only, same as the A1. Far too expensive for the average consumer. And it's not like the Z cameras are bad for consumers, the only thing they are bad at are action photography and that is not even because of the AF but because of the EVF in H+. Yes, Canon's eye AF and tracking is impressive but when not shooting action it is more like a nice to have than a must have.
I broke up my 20 year relationship with Nikon too, after waiting and waiting for Nikon to catch up, I couldn't wait no more. I tried and tested the Z6 and Z7 and my D750's did a better job at autofocusing than those two. Then I tried the A7iii and A9 and quickly realized what Ive been missing!!! It was all in my head that my tons of Nikon glass was making me stay with Nikon. On the other hand Nikon still does not have much to offer in terms of mirrorless glass, compared to Sony and Canon. It was a sad day to let all my Nikon gear go... but Sony quickly wiped those tears and they were all in focus!! 😁
I have been a nikon shooter since the yearbook in 1972. I have had the whole suite of bodies. I now have the Z6ii as well as a Z7 and a D850 and a D5. I tried and I tried and then in June I walked into a camera store on vacation in Jackson Hole.. They had a r5 out on the counter and I picked it up and tested it head to head against my z6ii. I bought it and now I am on the way to canon and I never thought that would happen.
So, what about photographers who shot weddings, sports, and portraits on DSLRs for decades? Sounds more like user error being more dependent on features and lazier.
You're missing the point. So what about all the people who commuted to work in a Model T Ford for decades? Lol. If you market AF you're going to be compared to the competitors offerings... not the ability of your grandpa to shoot at f8 and get "acceptable" sharpness. They're behind... PERIOD.
@@musicmaestro88 - They're slightly behind sure.. but in reality, its more than capable enough for more than 80% of photographers. It's not a pocket D6. Truth is, NO ONE is pixel peeping to see if the retina of the eye is in focus.. you're being silly at this point. Face detection does plenty good unless its a studio scene in which case manual focus is the most reliable. You are cherry picking at this point. So, it might not be 100% pin point (which neither is Sony or Canon) but in terms of color science, weather sealing, battery life, in body stabilization.. Nikon still lead the pack. Their glass also tends to be the best in terms of CA, IQ, and distortion
Jared...what the f$%&$. It's a total lie to say the Zii are almost the same as the Zi...the Zii have 2 expeed 5 instead of 1, plus much better and nearly amazing auto-focus if you are using the right type for the scene, without mentioning amazing real life battery endurance and dual slots, bigger buffer...
I owned several Nikon bodies, and still have the d800 and Nikon glass. I just love that camera. The dynamic range its excellent to this day. The colors are quite something too. Remember when people complained that the d800 raw files were too big? Haha Expanding my business I got into video work, bought the Sony a7sii, because Nikon didn't had a camera that could keep up with it at the time. But TBH I don't consider a Nikon body anymore because they are lagging behind the competition. The Canon Eos R, R5, Sony a7riii, a7rIV a7sii and a7siii stirred the market so much, that we're still waiting Nikon to wake up and fight back.
Yeah, I'm in a similar situation. I rank my D800 alongside the F5 as my favourite Nikon cameras and I still love the pictures the D800 produces. Unfortunately, the Z cameras don't impress me much and it'll be Sony (if any) that I'll switch to, unless Nikon release something spectacular.
I shot a D800 for years, both loving it and being annoyed because I got mine not too long before D810 got out with some annoyances fixed. 2 years ago I went for a Z6 and haven't looked back since adding a z7ii the day it was released. The 3 main features I found greatly improved with the Z6 were EVF (great when you wear glasses), High ISO performance and the tilting screen. The Z7ii added the extra resolution for my macro shooting. On top of that, the lenses are amazing. Sharp as heck! The 50/f1.2 and the MC 105 f/2.8 has been absolute revelations. The 24-70 and 70-200 f/2.8s are both miles ahead of the old F mount version. Similar for the 85 f/1.8 and the 14-30 f/4 is a lot more convenient than the 14-24 f/2.8 because of the 82mm filter thread.
WOW.......all I can but say is WOW......I am very mush like you.......I find myself shooting canon (only because of the auto focus, esp in video)..... Nice, beautiful compilation......
From D7000 to D7100 to D610 to Z6. After owning the Z6 for 2 months I decided to sell it at a loss. The camera just failed me on a wedding shoot with the team. All of them are using Sony A73 at that time. So I made the switched and never look back.
Mann i haven't even have my first camera but this was very touching 😂😂😂 (also man what happened to your eye at 13:18 you okay??? Your eye ball start glitching or something like that) love your work
Damn bro this shit is deep! This video makes me be grateful about what I have and the decision I took 5 years ago about starting and learning photography with a Nikon cámara and Jared’s tutorial videos about how to use the Nikon d3400, how to shoot in Manual and many more videos that teach me everything I needed to know back in that time, so many memories…
I'm currently contemplating going to A7riii from my Nikon after being a radical fanboy for years and at this moment I'm absolutley sure going to Sony. For me, this love letter is what I felt towards Nikon. I have thoughts that Nikon is now run by people who only wants business far from the craftsmen they were from the past who are either long gone now or retired. As much as I love Nikon, unfortunately they are not my next stop. I am now on my next phase on my photography journey yet none of their current and near-future offerings are in line with my progress. At this moment I have to board the ship that would take me to my destination and there is no way any brand would dictate where should I be going because at the end of the day my photography is worth more than the sentiment I have for a camera brand. For years I have took my greatest work using Nikon and I'll credit them for being my vessel for my journey, but this time I'm boarding a different ship that would serve me better. They make good cameras, but there are better ones. Even though fanboys have a lot to talk about, at the end of the day those stuffs are pointless. Ergonomics are adaptable, color science are fixable in post, menus are mostly a weekend visit, sharpness on the edge are rarely used, and most of all Sony is just getting better through different iterations. There is just nothing left to justify staying so It's time to leave for the better. I don't know if I'll look back at Nikon in the future, but I do really hope this time they have learned.
This type of thought is weird to me. Nikon rushed to market and still matched a7riii performance on their first mirrorless try (after fw updates) with Z7 outside of obvious no dual cards and grip. Z7ii is better than A7riii. Z9 may or may not rival the A1. And now people think Nikon lost their way after having the best dslrs and only two and half years in mirrorless.
@@livejames9374 It's not the thought that Nikon matched the A7iii. It's how their capabilities matched their value. The Nikon Z6 in our country cost a whopping 2500 USD while the Sony A7iii would only cost 1600 USD. That difference alone would be enough to give me either one of the Tamron trinity zooms or one of the Sigma Arts. That's better value for my photography than a Z6 with a 24-50mm lens. And not to mention that the used market for Nikon Z mirrorless is technically non-existing, Nikon Z is just too expensive for even a Nikon user to purchase and because of it most Nikon users in my town have now switched to Sony mirrorless. You should understand that my decision is for my photography not for the brand I'm using. I was once a denial like you before. but at the end of the day it's my passion for photography that must live and to do that I have to kill any loyalty that I have for any brand and must see the obvious. Nikon ain't bad, but there are absolutely better brands out there for me and most of us. You might find this thought weird and that's alright. I was once on a same illusion before and I hope one day you'll understand.
Nice history…I own a Z6II and like it very much. You’re right, it fits sometime miss a photo I think it shouldn’t but…it keeps getting better with each firmware update. I wouldn’t say no to a canon or Sony (actually own an earlier edition)… but I don’t have the budget to switch like you do…not disappointed, just the reality for the average photographer’s pocket book
As a wedding photographer Im happy with my Z6, moving from my old Sony a7ii and never regret it, love the color. But it's true, the af tracking and eye af are not that good and Im okay with that.
@arthur: yes, it's true. if sony is 100% in af capability nikon might be 95%. but all af systems at least of the top 3 (canikony) are top level and far beyond the technology of a few years before today (and even then the professionals were capabel to work with what they had). all are very good for professional usecases. only if you realy make that big money in hard competition (mostly news, sports etc.) you may have to go for the absolute best system regardless of cost, comfort and joy. all others should go with the system that is in their budget, that is comfortable to them and bring joy to their workflow.
Spoken like a true professional TH-camr. Theres more to photography than side by side comparisons of eye AF to garner views, likes, and comments. Don't forget to use whatever camera you have every now and again folks.
You are correct when you said professional TH-camr over professional photographer. Professional TH-camrs know how to make videos that will generate the most buzz and most clicks. And currently videos that say "Nikon AF is terrible" do better then those that say "Nikon make awesome glass" which is why the Z 50mm 1.2 "review" was just a complaint about the Nikon AF system instead of talking about the actual lens.
I did the exact same thing but I started with the d3 and moved up the ranks to d4 and d810 and z6 and said goodby and went sony with the a9 and a7riv and I have not looked back. I am glad you made this video it is so relatable and not to bash nikon its a reminder that if you don't keep up with others you will get left behind. I have and still love the nikon color science its hard to beat but sony af systems have made me sony user. I hope that someday nikon can come back and be competive. So good luck nikon and thank you nikon for giving me the start with my career back in 2010.
Here is my thing about this video and it's an opinion for what is worth .. A photographer should be brand agnostic ... They should be using the best tool for the job ... And not stick with brands ... Because, ultimately, if the brand doesn't make it right, the photographer who makes a living out of it is not going to perform to the best of his skills and tools. I want a camera that can fulfill my needs and desires. Maybe it's a Sony, maybe it's a Fuji, maybe is a hasselblad, maybe it's an iphone. I don't honestly get why a photographer should stick to a particular brand and only when they don't have all of the latest developments, they think about changing. And i agree that glass is expensive to change from system to system. And that sometimes old glass is way better than new glass. But, with adapters and converters the need to change all glass can be reduced to a certain point. Not all glass can work and certainly there will be times where all glass will have to be replaced. But, besides that, why should i stick to a brand if i can do my job with any camera ? Maybe it's because i'm amateur and i don't do it for a living or maybe i'm wrong with my opinion. When i saw the video, i honestly don't get it. I know your are not a fanboy, but, what's the point of the video ? It's could just be, Nikon you have to do this if you want to stay relevant with the competition. Maybe i'm just jaded that photography should be you the photographer and not about the brand. That's what you say, doesn't matter the camera, it matters to know the essentials. I liked the way the video was made, but, information wise, why should i care ? Not trying to get into an argument, just want to understand why this was made in the first place, besides being a love letter to a company that you grew up with ... Sorry the the long "rant", but, still will watch your content for the quality and the information you put outhere.
Old school focus with the Z6 and Z7 is weak when you using AF-ON button, the other button to chance the focus point is to close to AF-ON button! When i shooting action the focus point fast to a other place, i hite Both buttons Many Times 😰 Ik can't fixes the focus point with my Z6 and Z7, Just like nu sold D600, D810 and D3s I'm dispointet with Nikon Netherlands when the not listinging to my big problem 😓 The eye focus don't work when you shooting a large of people and not hit the person who i want and old school focus won't work also, i thinking to work with Sony or Canon!!
In the last months, I've decided to go for a camera crusade. I've had Nikon Z6, Z7. Sony A7III and A7RIII, Canon R6, Fuji GFX50R and X-S10. All in the last 4 months. I can confidently say that Nikon has the best colours and has a great dynamic range. The lenses are absolutely fantastic. I'm pretty sure Nikon will come over and fix their focus system. The day that this happens, they will fight equally on the lead. If they listen to the community and work hard, they can for sure turn this game. Canon R6 is a great camera as well. But the fact that I need to use Digital Photo Professional to get their colours is a game over to me. The software is horrible and all my workflow (and many fellow photographers as well) depends on Adobe LR and PS. What's the point of not getting the best Canon has (colours) in 3rd party apps? Sorry Canon but I'm going back to Nikon.
If you’re getting the results you need with the current camera why change Although the new cameras has wonderful capabilities, most photographers never have need or the skills to warrant the purchase Where all being convinced that by not constantly upgrading your being left behind
Great peptalk to Nikon and nice to hear about your Nikon story. Funny enough, I also started with Nikon, a F-301 back in 1987, with a 24-50 mm. Later I got the F90X, and the 80-200 f/2,8 . Still with Nikon with the D750, waiting a little to jump the mirrorless ship.
I’m considering the same move but selling my D750, D850, 24-70 2.8; 70-200 2.8; 85mm 1.4 & 100mm macro, will not cover the cost of buying either Canon R6 or Sony equivalent with the same lens
Mirrorless tech is starting to move the speed of light like cell phones. It seems the most economical choice is to k eep your dslr gear as long as you can. Couple years from now R6/R5 will be obsolete in terms of tech. Every brand will have great eye af and people will be complaining about some other novel feature like global shutters.
@@viktor928 I use R6 and Z6ii for sports and events. You have to put more effort learning Z af system but if you do it will be great with weddings. Canon is easier. Nikon I switch modes more frequently on fly. Both get me all shots I need. Just don’t use the i button like Jared does to switch af modes - it’s the slowest way possible.
As a Nikon shooter I thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated this kick in the butt you gave Nikon.
Yes - hopefully this will wake them up.

Same. I've always shot Nikon and I love my Z6. But they can do better and they should be pushing for more to keep up.

2 years later, I would have laughed that Jared was using SONY A1 in 2021 as temporary solution :>
Just kidding, A1 is solid, just no integrated grip, and AF could use some improvements. Canon users don't even think about it because of R5.
Methinks, Jared has a prototype of the Z9 in hand and is beta testing. Why else would he "hint" about Nikon??

@@gordonyz4 It's better without the grip, this way you have the flexibility of using it or not, rather than being stuck with a massive brick. I do not think there will be a lot of people buying the r3 over the r5 for that reason only. Anyways the a1 still smokes everything else at least until 2022 (both video and stills).
When Jared Polin hasn't talked shit about Nikon in an hour......
As a Canon shooter, it would be extremely bad for me if Nikon doesn't get back on their feet.
That is absolutely a valid point.
I agree
Nah, you want Nikon in the arena to help push the technology forward. With just two companies, they’ll get complacent, I think. Look at American car companies for my case in point. Ford & GM are on top, Dodge/Chrysler were way down there, except for minivans and the Chargers and Challengers. They helped push the Mustang and Camero comebacks. They are rising up fast, as what else do Ford and GM really make? Pickups? So a third market player is always good. Same with third market lens companies like Sigma et al, more competition makes better products for everyone!
@@GreenTekHaus That's exactly what I was saying.

Hoping the next mirrorless is just as ergonomic or I’ll just stick with the d7XX series as long as I can
Best comment on here!

You nailed it; I wrote my dear Nikon letter about 6 months ago for all the same reasons.

Yeah the dynamic range on my z6II is amazing. 64 iso, low light Capabilities.
If Nikon releases a full frame version of the Z-fc without an OLPF, I will sell my A7R3 sooo fast. Take my money Nikon.
me too. how much megapixels would do you wish for the Zf FX? i'm very happy with my Df with 16mp. but i believe no camera manufacturer will return below 20mp. but i wish a low megapixel count. i think this kind of cameras is for street, reports maybe archtecture and less for sports, highend landscapes wich needs high mp. so cropping and huge prints are not in focus. in contraire i wish "small" raw files and easy processing.
Already there, it's called Nikon Df
@@quovadis3220 Sony still makes 12 MP cameras
As a Z 6II owner, I agree. If you're a sports or events photographer, you simply can't trust the Eye AF. But if you're shooting portraits, landscapes, products, and general use you are ok. I do wish Nikon gets another firmware update this year that finally gets the Eye AF on par with Sony and Canon. If they do it will be huge, and maybe they can finally get out of this bad PR they have created for themselves.
Or wildlife
My opinion is that the current functionality of the Z AF is not bad but it’s not up to the times. In comparison to what canon and Sony are doing it is definitely behind but it works you just need to be more selective with the area mode you use for a given situation. I definitely
Agree about the bad PR.
Honestly Jared, this is your best video for some time.

Then again, we don't live in a place where changing and upgrading gear is an everyday thing. It took me a long time to upgrade to 50mm. Shooting on a Nikon does not mean our photos/video are inferior or Shooting on Sony/others does not make our photos/video superior either. It really up to what we do with it.
-
Great choice of lenses though.
Isn’t that the point? You shouldn’t have to fight with the cameras limitations? A workaround isn’t a solution.
@@jonweinraub "Fight" You mean using tracking or wide mode with Eye-AF? Are you serious?
@James WrightHis argument is not that the system is fine and that it’s just a little behind. Why even type this much just to completely misrepresent what he’s said?
Great video- hopefully they listen. I started with Nikon as well, an 8008s back in the film days. Loved their cameras. Side note, I had no idea you had shot so many big time entertainers. Well done sir!

The general consensus is that the Nikon AF is great if you spend a little time learning it. I have two Z6 - close to zero issues with the AF.
@@mikedfurman what types of things are you shooting?
I hope this type of publicity gives them some urgency.
This video helps me understand how spoilt we are lol…
The truth, delivered in love, can only make things better. It is clear you love Nikon. Your consistent delivery of the truth is appreciated.
My D5 never and I mean never misses a shot when Nikon mirrorless can do that I will reconsider NO rush.
It’s not a matter of Nikon mirrorless as much of a matter of the other guy’s mirrorless (at least that’s what the video was about).
without eye af??? this is impossible (according to jared)!!! 😉
Nikon D3500 here with a couple of reasonable bits of glass. Does the job nicely.
You are always a sincere nikon lover,.
@@charminbaer2323 wedding photos have been captured since before autofocus. Not everyone wants to practice photography at 20fps. Try again.
Right? Because honestly sometimes the best images are mistakes or aren’t totally technically sound but there is something else that makes them good.
Never said better, pure marketing I see.

@@youknowwho9247 Not an issue of user error, absolutely not. In the real world every system is capable of doing the job and you have to consider each alternative profile based on your preferences. End of the story

I think you have absolutely missed the point. I have shot Nikon for about 25-30 years and I still do but just for personal fun and a hobby now. In this market if someone misses a couple of shots and word gets out, you might find yourself replaced in a hurry. My first Nikon was N8008s to D200 now with D850. You’re videos have helped me a lot with the D850!!
D850 owner here. Best darn camera I have ever owned.
You’ve absolutely nailed this comment on the head. Good job. Amateur photographer here using a little D3400 :)
Nikon has an underpar focusing system (when compared to the other two brands but not necessarily overall) becomes Nikon sells terrible cameras - which we all know it does not
For me personally, as a long time viewer and someone who feels you have every right to point out Nikon's shortcomings, it's in the narrative.
Focus more on what is great and in many cases BETTER than the current Sony & Canon cameras with the acknowledgement that it has its limitations RATHER than the AF system is sh*t so the camera is sh*t
We all know that Nikon has been restructuring the business (they don't have the deep pockets of Canon & Sony) and are now back in profit; they probably haven't been able to throw the same level of money at R&D as the other 2 and are keeping up in the vast majority of specs as best they can. Lets not forget they have invested in the mount which will set them up for decades - something Sony & Canon will eventually have to do - guess
I guess my over-riding wish watching this is that your future videos focus on helping Nikon not making them a joke; highlighting their positives not obsessing on one aspect of the camera that isn't where you need it to be.
Find the camera that fits you and your needs. Mine is still the EOS R, and I'm still very happy 😊

I tried and I tried and then in June I walked into a camera store on vacation in Jackson Hole.. They had a r5 out on the counter and I picked it up and tested it head to head against my z6ii. I bought it and now I am on the way to canon and I never thought that would happen.
awww, I think you have sniffed that Z9 AF is great. Nice preparation.
As a Nikon Fan boy and still today using Nikon. You speak our mind Jared. I hope Nikon listen to you.
Love you Jared.
11:15
can someone please me what cameras from Sony that have eye Af und look tracking?
Jared...what the f$%&$. It's a total lie to say the Zii are almost the same as the Zi...the Zii have 2 expeed 5 instead of 1, plus much better and nearly amazing auto-focus if you are using the right type for the scene, without mentioning amazing real life battery endurance and dual slots, bigger buffer...
Sure, but saying that wouldn't get him so many clicks.
I almost cried, while listening to your love letter to Nikon!!!
I owned several Nikon bodies, and still have the d800 and Nikon glass. I just love that camera. The dynamic range its excellent to this day. The colors are quite something too.
Remember when people complained that the d800 raw files were too big? Haha
Expanding my business I got into video work, bought the Sony a7sii, because Nikon didn't had a camera that could keep up with it at the time.
But TBH I don't consider a Nikon body anymore because they are lagging behind the competition.
The Canon Eos R, R5, Sony a7riii, a7rIV a7sii and a7siii stirred the market so much, that we're still waiting Nikon to wake up and fight back.
The Eos R? You mean R6? R was behind even the OG Z6.
Thanks for the video. My only issue with Nikon is you shouldn't have to spend Z9 money for a camera that finally "competes".
From D7000 to D7100 to D610 to Z6. After owning the Z6 for 2 months I decided to sell it at a loss. The camera just failed me on a wedding shoot with the team. All of them are using Sony A73 at that time. So I made the switched and never look back.
I hope the Z9 can compete with the A1. I look forward to your review of it if they can ever get it out on the market.
We must’ve started around the same time with the same video. Just upgraded to mirrorless and came back to Jared for his suggestions.
Honest and true. As a Nikon shooter for many years I find myself struggling with the AF at certain occasions. Nikon, please get it right soon.
Nikon also needs to get in on the cinema camera revolution as video and cinema is equally as important as pictures
Bravo!! Just an amazing letter... Take a note, Nikon Come back stronger, or you will be forgotten.
I loved mine. It died like cameras do sometimes and there wasn’t ever anything much better than it on the market from them so I changed brands.
@@carjac820 ahhh so price is why and was not mentioned. Got it.
The september firmware update should be great
was my video responsible for you making this one? you have to let it go Jared
@@quovadis3220 100% valid
Still love Nikon.
My fisrt camera is Nikon F65 from my dad, it make me stuck in love with photography and become a filmaker, now I'm using Sony. So sad
What’s next are you missing edits because Lightroom’s auto correct feature doesn’t make it perfect?
When i shooting action the focus point fast to a other place, i hite Both buttons Many Times 😰
Ik can't fixes the focus point with my Z6 and Z7, Just like nu sold D600, D810 and D3s
I'm dispointet with Nikon Netherlands when the not listinging to my big problem 😓
The eye focus don't work when you shooting a large of people and not hit the person who i want and old school focus won't work also, i thinking to work with Sony or Canon!!
Well put! I’ve thought the same for years and last year sold all my Nikon gear and beloved D850… shooting Sony now as well and have not looked back.
Just another perfect presentation JP style!
...simply...Beautiful ! Well Done !
Still rocking two d4s don't know if I'll ever let them go. It has helped produce some of my best professional images and continues to be a workhorse
And I am hanging on to my D850. After three years, I have barely scratched the surface of what it can do.
@MP blablabla - Nikon D4s is great, no one has to buy new equipment if they don't want to.
If you’re getting the results you need with the current camera why change
Although the new cameras has wonderful capabilities, most photographers never have need or the skills to warrant the purchase
Where all being convinced that by not constantly upgrading your being left behind
@MP not missing anything. I get every shot I need and don't have to wory about breaking stuff if I drop it
@MP maybe they don't need snappy autofocus and prefer Nikon's files
Great peptalk to Nikon and nice to hear about your Nikon story. Funny enough, I also started with Nikon, a F-301 back in 1987, with a 24-50 mm. Later I got the F90X, and the 80-200 f/2,8 . Still with Nikon with the D750, waiting a little to jump the mirrorless ship.
Same here D750 user yet to be convinced to move. Fingers crossed they sort their AF out - plus I want video backup in the second slot.
i dont get why this emotional attachment to a company. Theres better products out there. go for it. all this simply sounds stupid
I’m considering the same move but selling my D750, D850, 24-70 2.8; 70-200 2.8; 85mm 1.4 & 100mm macro, will not cover the cost of buying either Canon R6 or Sony equivalent with the same lens
I am in the same boat with you…are you thinking of buying the z 6 ii? I am a wedding photographer…and some video
@@livejames9374 😂 very true. I just need new camera for the weddings…without braking the bank…lol no need of the last cutting-edge tech.
