Double Dragon is a perfect example of "NES Hard". Even if you get the hang of the fighting, having to do the janky Double Dragon Platforming Sections on limited lives is cruel and unusual punishment. And I Game Overed due to those blocks that come out of the wall near the end so many times! Fortunately, Arc System Works released the Dragon Double Kunio Kun Retro Brawler Bundle on Modern Consoles, which has all 3 Double Dragon games, as well as classics such as River City Ransom, and games from the River City series that were never released here! My point is though, this bundle also comes with a build in Save State feature, so you can enjoy Double Dragon without being frustrated by random deaths from falling stalactites, wall bricks, and black hole pits!
Ahhh the days of the NES. What a great time to be a kid. The ultimate object of entertainment was the Nintendo. It was a huge deal at the time. 1 and 4 homes had a NES
Technōs Japan should've made an updated version for the NES/Famicom called Double Dragon: The Arcade Edition, where it has everything that Double Dragon II has.
For me,nostalgia on the nes versiom and also caves area is also great. The music is great on nes version.Arcade is also great in nostalgia thing but it feels more realistic,to resume, double dragon 1 on nes and arcade are awesome equaly for me.As for 2 and 3 i prefer only nes vesions.
Yeah, it's a cool little feature. It's been a while since I've played DD2, but I believe you have all your moves unlocked from the start with that game.
Ok so I know you got the whole co-op and playing as Jimmy thing wrong but does the final boss thing actually happen where player 1 and 2 fight each other at the end? I struggled to finally beat this game a couple of months ago and I don’t wanna go through it again just to see if that happens lol.
OH SHIT! YOU'RE RIGHT!! I was thinking of the arcade version for all the co-op stuff (since I'm always playing these games in single player mode)! I forgot the 2 player mode in the NES version was the lame "wait your turn" type. Man do I feel dumb as shit right now. >_< Thanks for the heads up. lol
Did you play the game? You can’t plays Jimmy Lee he’s a freaking boss of the game. If you play two player mode, you just have two different Billys at different parts. Kids these days can’t do anything, right. Thumbs down.
Double dragon on the nes had the best sound track
Aaaaaaaahhhhhh!!!!!! A naked Willie!!!!! But at least everyone else is dressed. Thank goodness

Brutal game haven't beaten it to this day
Only thing that sucked was it being single player. Probably would have been the best NES game behind SM3 if it had been two player co-op.
I'm definitely gonna have to revisit this one soon. Thanks!

I had to go back in the archives
Great review Jabroni 😎

awesome can't wait for part 2
one of my favs, good review!!!
Probably the best double dragon game ever besides Battletoads and double Dragon

PS:New sub from argentina.
Had a fun run on this today cause of this vid 👌
I just like to say that what would this game be like if Billy & Jimmy played at a Two player Co-Op? U have a ‘What If Sample?’
Wait... what!? You leveled up in Double Dragon!??? I had no idea! Does this work or Double Dragon 2 also?
Yeah, it's a cool little feature. It's been a while since I've played DD2, but I believe you have all your moves unlocked from the start with that game.
Cool. I wonder what you'll review next. Maybe a Simpsons game?
😲😲😲 Actually...it is a Simpson’s game. LMAO!

Yeah, but only in the arcade version. I mixed that up too 😓😓😓
SNES : Street Fighter 2, Final Fight
Famicom: Yie ar kung fu, Double Dragon
Cool review but you're a bit mistaken. There's no 2-player co-op mode in this version of the game .

I preferred the sequel over this one
Got the nes version when I was a kid and was so excited to play it with friends. Such a piece of shit disappointment.
Behold the power of..... The Naked Willie!!!
It equals the wet Willie!!!!!!!!!!! 😂😂😂
The arcade is way better.
