I don't know, was it really all belonging to this Madame Rac? I can't see a frail old woman buying a brand new Mill or Lathe in the last 5 years, swinging it over her shoulder, taking it down to the basement and carefully burying it behind walls of old clothes. That be a bit athletic even for me.

The beautiful cake platter and cake spatula are a type of English bone china called "Chintzware" made in the 1920s - 1930s. Has become popular again and many houses have released new versions. I think what you have is pretty special. :)

Alex, If you find any paintings that are the Bob Ross style ones done in acrylic on canvas, signed BLO, please please let me know. I will buy them from you. They are done by my dad and he has passed on and we cant find any of his original paintings so we know he sold them all.

WOW! was looking at jaguar cartier bracelets, and was blown away by most of the comps! Most are worth thousands & thousands!!! I hope you get great prices for all those items!!! And that art glass, and furniture, dolls, lamps, jewelry, and more. Im glad you were blessed with a great haul!

Alex, I'm 83 years young and I have enjoyed every show, absolutely love your show. It's so neat to see you dig though and discover value! I'm an artist and boy those paintings are all framed so beautifully in addition to the paintings themselves. Somebody buying must appreciate that. So much of what you found in the potter and the musician's house are times I've lived through. If I didn't live in a tiny apartment and from the musician's house because I like sewing also, I could easily become a hoarder from seeing so many items I like. BTW I grew up across from Sarnia so Canada was always "next door".You and your family are dear. Don't pay attention to the negative comments, you are a breath of fresh air. I just checked out the jewellery auction listings and I can see you are going to do very well. I love the Chanel Silver cuff bracelet but it is already bid out of my price range. People are going to get some wonderful treasures from this auction.
I know...I saw it at 500. Wonder how far that will rise. Same with the hermes. Tiffany. Designer stuff is a hot market.
I hope the auction is really successful for you Alex. You sure worked hard for this. You look at a hoarder house that looks like an insurmountable amount of work and mess, and see opportunity. You take risks and make them pay off!

SOOO many pieces that I see I would love to add to my own collections, I wish I was in Canada for this. That glassware, the singer sewing machine, the marble top table, and even the dining room table and chairs... there is a hutch that is GORGEOUS. SO. MUCH. STUFF. So many cool finds, Alex, what an amazing experience for you guys. So much jewelry from all over the world....what a collection she had. She was eclectic for sure, but had a taste for the very expensive and fashionable pieces that span several eras. WOW

@@elainephleps4705 Yes, the auction houses around here will even haul it to their auction house...for a fee of course but its worth it to move the stuff and to be able to stop paying storage fees.
Madame Rac’s jewelry collection should take care of Alex’s coffee shop! His act of kindness towards her when she was living paid him back, unexpectedly, a million times over! God bless you, Alex!

PLEASE consider a long slow video showing as many items as possible for the next sale. Just video and music. I know - more work for you! But the pics are so iffy at the auction site and it REALLY helps to see it on video. I am DYING to see the leopard painting that was on the wall in one of the bedrooms, can't wait to bid on it!
I was also hoping for a video of the collection before it got put into the cases. Maybe a big pile of coins and jewelry as Melissa and Alex picked some favorites to talk about.

The large floral embroidered art piece that was hanging in the master bedroom was made from a kit sold in the 1970s. I made one in 1975 and it took me a year to complete. I still have it, but it in my basement now and my kids don’t want it. I will be interested to see what that sells for. Great series, thanks.
I've seen that a couple times and honestly if I come across it in the future I want one for my home. I'm such a fan of vintage crewel. He will get a pretty penny for it.

That's what I was thinking, every time they "discovered" another miniature piano, piano music box, or scarf in a box ... lol. Easy to see that the people in her life loved her.
The close up slower images of the jewelry at the end are GORGEOUS! I hope you will find some time to do more of that. On many items. It really sells them once you get to really see them up close and the things you cleaned up were awesome too! I wanna be RICH, I wanna buy it ALL! oh boy... would I have been happy in Madam Rac's house? .... But all of it is beautiful and you wouldn't have said so upon entering that house. But the exquisite taste in all of these designs is heartwarming.
Please say you searched the sewing cabinet drawers. Ladies used to hide jewelry, mostly heirloom in the drawers. They felt it was safe from thief’s.

So I looked at the bids placed on the jewelry auction and as of right now (1.11.21) they are estimated at over 60k! This is absolutely insane. I'm really glad I found this series and look forward to going through the rest of what this channel has to offer.

The first page of jewelry currently already has 100 items each with at least a 100$ on it (if you sort by bidding amount descending). That is already his investment guaranteed. And some of those items will go much higher. I think the jewelry alone should at least be 20.000$ and maybe even 50.000$...

OMG! I just signed up at kauctions and bid on some of Madame Rac’s jewelry items! She must have been showered with lots of love all through her life, from her parents, husband, and friends! Her collection of fine jewelries are just enormous for one person! On some items, as soon as I increase the bid, I’m instantaneously outbid! I bid on multiple items, but, I expect to be outbid on almost, if not all of them! I just want to get at least one item from her collection. I have my eyes closely watching on one item that will be meaningful for my family.
I'm watching a year afterwards. I hope you ended up with something!
@@AmbrosiaR , I did, thank you! I got myself two 22-k gold necklaces for a lot lower than the price of the gold itself! High bidders must have dropped out towards the end (the auction lasted for about 12 hours). I didn’t watch the whole auction, I only came back when the items I bid for were up. For the late items, my bids prior to the live show were the ones accepted! The items were successfully shipped from Canada 🇨🇦 to 🇺🇸. Thanks for commenting!
If it doesn't all get listed you can take it to the shop, store it in the garage and sell it as you can. You could just have a separate third auction of artwork.

The curved glass is very expensive to replace in a vintage cabinet. Ask me how I know. Ok, my nephew was playing cars and raced one across the floor right into the glass.

If no one has mentioned it, the iridescent glass that you’ve called depression class is actually called Carnival Class and is worth much more than the depression class. The older it is, the more valuable it is, of course.
I was reading comments to see if someone mentioned this. I believe it is Imperial carnival glass- “marigold” grape pattern. If it is Indiana, will it say on the bottom?
That pitcher will be worth about 75-85 dollars. Circa 1970’s.
@@poulaivens5651 we can only hope. But, the “solds” on eBay were less than half of that
The market for carnival glass...particularly Marigold, is pretty low currently. Maybe $30 for that pitcher. I find them semi- regularly at Goodwill.
Also, most glass with a grape pattern isn't currently desirable in the resale market no matter what type of glass it is.
Alex, that is quite a job, yikes. You look so tired, hon, go get some rest when this is done. That stuff is barely a quarter of what the lady had in her house, how it all fitted in there is mind-boggling!
I cant imagine all the extra work that goes into sorting & inventorying all of a hoarders stuff.

2) By the way: I'm not sure if I'm able to understand this kind of auction. I wonder why for instance the (heavy) silver and gold pieces (bracelets and coins etc.) haven't at least set the silver/gold value as the lowest bid!?

I recently sold the spikey Chalet vase on Ebay (but in red) for $450 plus a buttload of shipping from Northern California to a collector in Canada! It sold within a few hours, and was a PAIN to ship! I read up on the history of Chalet prior to listing...very interesting! 👍

63700,- CAD did I get when I went trough all the Jewelry auction. And then it not yet finished. There are more days to bid. That is what I call a big score. Well earned.

I owned that identical dining room table. Sold it a few years back. Was a beautiful table.
I've got that table now. I bought mine in the '70's, Table, 6 chairs (including a captains chair), buffet, 2 leaves and table pads. All for $400 which I considered a steal.
Alex, I said it in another comment in another video, but I say it again, the painting on the minute 2:51 with the man and the drum and the woman dancing represents an Spanish traditional scene from the north west of Spain, a region called Galicia (I know cause it is our traditional scene, I am from Galicia), I hope it helps you to find out about its value.
Visiting Galicia, it was the most beautiful and enchanting area, like a fairytail, picturesque. We stayed at a tiny, tiny village called Xavinia on the Atlantic Coast. We rented the 500 year old renovated castle, that was much smaller than many two story houses today. I will never forget the lacemaker store's owner who had a pet piranha from her sea-travelling boyfriend in the store nor the traffic from the ox-drawn carts going to market on the main roads. Encantado a conocerte!
@@eavening4149 Encantada de conocerte también! Oh, right, Xaviña is in the coast of Camariñas, no wonder they had that lace store, is so traditional of that part of Galicia! And they make the lace using pins on a hard cushion that they hold on their lap, it is incredible how they intermix and knot those threads using the thread spools to build the lace! Pet piranhas are not as typical here but it must have been a very exciting place to visit! The ox carts are not seen that much anymore, but I remember when I was a little girl, how angry my dad got when he found one of those in font of him on the road, if you couldn't pass it, it would mean driving at turtle speed for a long while! I am very glad you got to know this part of Spain, most tourists we get are coming to do the Way to Santiago de Compostela, the pilgrimage, but not as many get to know any other beautiful villages there are here! Thank you for choosing Galicia as a place to travel!
@@Fancylooks Yes, Camariñas! We stayed there for a month and traveled to see the Fin de Tierre, local wineries and Santiago de Compastella! You are truly lucky to have grown up in so beautiful a place! It was a phenomenal experience to even visit for a month!

I own such egyptian-themed machine, handheld one! It was my great-grandmothe's. Still operating quite well. I'm fascinated by it's durability and worldwide spread. Mine supposedly from Russia, there was manufacturing site here, too!
Oh man as an Australian even if your auction house shipped internationally the currency conversion and shipping would bankrupt me 😂 I shall just have to live vicariously through other fans of this series who manage to snag some of the gems you're selling
A lot of us are in that boat. Particularly with the very large lots. Wish he would have split a lot of that stuff up into smaller lots. Will end up having to be sold locally for that reason. Won't bring as much as if it was sold in many smaller lots either.
@@karenkoe7096 yeah it would be nice but I understand why he did it the way he has. He is only one man and he has a hard deadline to contend with. Putting it into larger lots makes sense in his stressful situation.

If you still have the round stool with height adjustment (was one of the last things out of the house), I'd recommend putting it with the pump organ instead of the chair with the back. I think it's supposed to go with the organ. The chair you have with the organ currently does not match, nor is it the type you'd use when playing. Most pump organ stools I've see are round (like the one you have) or square topped (the one I have). Thanks for sharing and good luck at the auction!

Alex is a nice man and his beautiful wife is quite the lady! Their kids all seem to be really sweet, smart and you can see the love they have for one another! I'm really glad l stumbled upon this channel!!
I hope you have the auction people to tell about the history of Miss Rac and how it all started with a car that's what you said. Just so the people online and watching the online and watching the auction, because people might be new, to give that lady her just due. She needs to be honored a little bit. Short and sweet.
