Gary Larson graduated from my high school. He was well before my time, but several of my teachers would bemoan the fact that they would send him to detention for doodling on the desks. He would be assigned to clean the desks off during detention. The teachers were always wishing they had had the foresight to swap out the desktops and tuck them away to appreciate in value rather than reporting him for it.

Paper Book Covers: I recall making paper covers, on the first day of school, when they issued us our school books. That way we could draw on the paper and customize the book jackets. The school books were re-used back then and stayed the property of the school.

I grew up in tornado alley in Texas. When I was very small a tornado like the one that hit your area hit Honda (small town then outside San Antonio). Post WWII GI housing with no basement. I received a decent swat because I snuck away to look at the tornado as it approached. It covered half the sky. My parents put myself and my little sister in the bathtub and put mattresses and their bodies over us. It jumped our house and hit the houses behind. I asked my mother where all the children were who had lived there. She told me they were in Heaven. At the time I was so young I didn’t really understand. Oddly, had I stayed in Texas after grad school, I might been a tornado chaser. Great video! Those lithographs are gorgeous.

Way back in the stone age, it was normal to make a paper bag cover for your school book. In fact it was like a first day of school assignment. After all, the book belonged to the school, to be returned, hopefully in decent condition, at the end of the year. Does anybody else remember going through, for example, a math book to check for and erase pencil marks? Seems like the teacher did an inspection of each returned book.

When that Disneyworld bag and box with pin rises back to the top, please keep it all together in the sale. The bag and box dates the pin (from the Italy pavilion, I'd bet) to early EPCOT. There are folks who would want the bag alone, believe or not. The image used was even restyled on new merch for the recent EPCOT anniversary.

French ivory, isn't that Belgian Bakelite, just like the white, ivory telephone? Imagine that that truck is actually yours, and someone bought it back then, repaired it, and you bought it years later without knowing. I like this kind of thoughts, just like two people sitting in trains passing by each other without the individuals knowing, but the viewer of the movie knows. A couple of weeks ago this happened between my mom and I, the first time in my life I am certain to have experienced this in real life.

You are definitely focused enough to not let it go crazy, but it would be nice to have a place to load and unload boxes. Maybe with a table and elevated rolling ramp, to move them towards the dock, where your truck is waiting. I think you may have a few of these houses in your future??? The amoeba comics were some of my favorites, lol! I had all the UFO ones cut out and stuck inside my locker in high school. The best comic was Calvin & Hobbes, though.

We had a pair of swag lamps in our house when we bought it, similar glass, but longer. Threw them out in the trash when we replaced them with something newer.

EEEEEKKK! Glad it's you and not me. That is a lot of sorting, moving everything 4 or more times. Amazing what you do. But I definitely smell profit. Desirable items.

He said in his live video a couple days ago that he would be doing a separate video on just the safes, he did indicate that there was definitely something of great interest in them ... hence they get their own video :)

1:04 😂 Sorry for laughing Alex, I feel for you, but that expression was just too funny 😄 It is an understatement to call your work in this house SUPERHUMAN and now to have to deal with sorting AGAIN is crazy! 👏

Keep up the good work Alex. Some of the items you are finding are very interesting. Treasures in their own right. A job like that can get pretty boring but the discoveries will keep your interest fresh. Plus the goal. PROFIT!

I woke up so sick this morning and seeing this really perked me up and warmed my heart. So calming watching Alex sort through things and hearing his voice is familiar and reassuring. Dad voice? 😆 Idk.
