Tokio would be so abused that he would become an Edgelord in his next appearance in the fighting game.
The reason the .hack RPG's ended were because any future installments would require Spiral power, space aliens, an ancient civilization, and the Catholic Church from Hellsing as phelbtonium and the plot would be so convoluted that any human who reads it is brought to madness due to its Lovecraftian monstrousness.
Or just reboot it in an alternate universe

Cross Rengeki roughly translates into "Humiliate Tokio" apparently.
I think Kite never played The World R:2 (can you blame him? xD) and he went to college. As for Azure Kite (Balmung and Orca too) he is just data whose purpose is to fight and erradicate AIDA's in The World
All the past character are all memory clones or something
Pablo M. I always hate that about a video game whenever a new game to a sequel goes up the past characters never pop up the help especially when when the world Goes to Hell or something occurs. Especially when is the something that they never finish. Because that would've been me in the second game and I heard someone that looks exactly like me going around putting people in comas I'm going to investigate it. The worst thing the character is azure kite I mean come on somebody investigate that.
I would do anything to have all of the .hack games

ovan never dies, hes shown to come back during returner(the ova not ingame). Also i figured the reason cubia was here in the first place is cause during kite's story, he gets frozen by shicskal somehow affecting cubia's appearance. Though to be fair, i couldnt understand what was being said between the two during his event so hell if i know.

Sakaki still had that messiah complex apparently so its the reason he gets infected with aida and starts the pk tourny. Tsukasa is defintely NOT male(i kept thinking for a guy, he was way to feminine during the cutscenes. After i found out about the actual story, i got that "aha!" moment xD) Also its not incompatible in Link as haseo does lose it much more often in here than he did in the original GU. Aida is not only there in the story but an important part of it fyi.
...Can you have a party of more than one person with you? If so...Can you have Kite and Fake-Tri-Edge Kite in the same party?
Really sad this didn't get an import though. Same with .Hack//VERSUS. If you haven't seen that yet, look it up. It's the shit.

Of course. Who else would it be? Someone unimportant to the games' plot? There isn't a single character in any of the GU scenes that isn't related to a game character. Aihara himself has a PC you can meet in the game in fact. Kazubolo. Sakaki's player is named Tooru Uike. He is pretty manipulative for a child though. i've always wondered what happened to kite after quarantine. and Who, or rather what is Azure Kite?
azure kite is just a AI replacement system put in place to protect Aura and to protect the key of the twilight, the azure knights are just incomplete replacements of the original knights so thats why they look soo oof compared to kite and the gang

Because in this game Sakaki isn't evil. Nor was he ever, technically.
Also Tsukasa is definitively male in this game, no room for argument.
This game takes a lot of liberties with the plot.
For instance, GU and GU Trilogy are completely incompatible plotlines, but both are represented in this game. There are in fact two Haseos.
I can't be entirely certain, but I'm not sure AIDA existed at all in Link's plotline history.
I love that Mimiru is your first party member.

I have it, but considering I'm not a native speaker of Japanese, I've resorted to the manga for the story.... buuuut, like all games that have a manga, some things don't go hand in hand with each other.

It plays surprisingly easy. I had it imported. You don't have to know Japanese, it's pretty straight forward. However, the cutscenes can be rather long and, especially if you do not know Japanese, can be quite painful. You'll find yourself trying to button mash through them.

His messiah complex is the main problem. Even if hed never met ovan, aida would have found him eventually(the same way it does in link but im unsure if it was due to haseo or it just naturally found him after the stuff at moon tree) Course with my limited knowledge of japanese, im not sure if sakaki mentions getting aida from ovan during your meeting with him at the pk tourny.
Kite uses the data drain in his Xth form.
Why did Kite have the sign of Tri-Edge when he used his final attack? Neither Kite, nor Azure Kite, were the ones who created that symbol. It was always Ovan because he had THREE weapons...
is it just me or does helba's attack look just like frizas were frieza sits in his chair lifts one finger a red orb expands to massive size and blows the crap outta everything?
I'm guessing the main character in this game is the same guy with the time fists in the .hack fighter.

Not sure if it's been explained or not, but why does Kite's Cross Rengeki make Tri-Edge's mark? I would've settled for a basic Data Drain.
... wait, so that person that Aihara met in the Online Jack segments really -was- Sakaki?
I finished the game already, now I'm trying to know what to do with this post-game play...
The game is very easy to learn and get used to the menu and the battle-menu and artes are blend and sadly to say, there are only 2 artes, the Close-Combat Arte and the Long-Range Arte, they are awsome to see and they evolve through the game doh. In addition, almost everything is the same as the others .hack// games, trigger a cut-scene, go to dungeons, defeat a boss and befriend with everyone via battle and e-mails... there are some other things that is kinda complicated to say since I dunno Jap :, (
The only "problem" is to level and equip the AI characters since they're names are in kanji, but its easy to get used, for those who are curious to learn some, I learned a few as Dai, Ha, Mi, Li and so on...

I kinda figured Online Jack stuff was just Salvador running around being a doofus and accomplishing pretty much nothing. I did know about the Kazubolo sidequest though.

I've never played this game, but I'd like to know... Are Haseo and Atoli at least still showing affection for each other in this game? I hope so. I heard something about Haseo's memory being atlered, so that might affect their relationship. HaseoxAtoli FTW
About the sakaki thing. In the g.u timeline, its apparently haseo who infected moon tree with aida and not ovan(or perhaps ovan infected atoli and in effect infected moon tree) Either way sakaki never meets ovan during the timeline unless it was an off screen meeting. This means after sakaki fails at his plan in the pk tourny, ovan doesnt lure the azure knights to his location to pk him.

3:25 is that Tri-Edge ?. sorry if my question is stupid i only have hack//gu vol 1 and i have like when my old was 7 or 8 but i didn't like it so much but i like it when i finish the game in the 2013/7/14 i saw what's in the next part from the game then i'm was like i have to got the next part. so i don't know so much about the story......
Nope, Tri-Edge isn't even considered a person. The real one is actually a monster kind, it takes over a human player's body.
I'm not sure any of that happened according to //Link's plotline. Like I said, Link takes a LOT of liberties with the plotlines of previous .hacks. Sort of like how GU Trilogy directly contradicts many points of GU. Also, [spoilers] Sakaki was a child manipulated by AIDA. He really wasn't evil, he was -insane- literally, if anything. But more likely he was a child who was given power, and nothing more. Children are mean without needing a reason or being inherently bad at the same time.

I dont much like all the huge changes in style; but I gotta say its nice to have a bumbling hero back. Kite wasnt smooth or cool at the beginning and he screwed up a few times. Haseo annoyed me with his overly inflated ego, This guy has trouble attacking without dying!!!
Sasuke's fault! My favorite is Haseo because he's the exception of Sasuke.
