Let's take a moment to appreciate how brilliantly the Song Stone mechanic was introduced; The windmill mission is an early game nightmare, tight corridors forcing your units to move single file, baddies in the rafters throwing paralysis bombs, and the game outright tricks you into losing Popo early on by telling you what her flying ability can do, only for her to get bodied right afterwards (we all fell for it the first time). After slogging through that first half, you're face to face with that scumbag mayor, ready to take him down, only for him to call in back up and surround the party. About ready to choke slam the 3DS, the game forces you to move Alto over to Popo, and you play your first Witch Song. The music plays, the enemies are frozen in place with defenses down, and it's a three turn adrenaline rush as you hurry to wipe them out, winning the mission. That's when the game went from good to great for me.
what's your favorite song introduction out all of them? my personal best is "To the sea" by Lisette and Hilda's "ice world". Specially to the sea , it really turned the battle into your favor with those aoe heals.

This song helps me a lot during one of Popo's final tuning, putting enemies to sleep so I can make my Rusty rush to her to protect her shadow (I don't have Hilda yet at this time).
No offense but so far its been a pretty easy game to me. but to be fair I played Devil survivor 1 and 2 before this one so Im alredy trained in this kind of games

I can only think of maybe 2-3 instances where I really struggle (and fail the mission once) all throughout the game. Is it just me? Because when I first heard this song the minute it started playing, I immediately got goosebumps almost all over me. I pretty much got goosebumps no matter what throughout the entire song.
I'm still in the desert chapter.. (I just started playing this game about a week ago) But I like the vibe of this song in the first battle it was played... I mean, Popo was freed from her shackles. From the people who used and abused her and finally finding the strength to fight for herself and her new found friends.
RIP Imageepoch. Though I never played Luminous Arc (I plan to though!) I played and beat Stella Glow. If LA is even half as good as SG, you should be proud of the great gaming company you were.
I played the heck of LA 1 and 2, I loved those games! (still waiting for LA3 English translation...) Stela Glow is basically Luminous Arc "up to eleven". Luminous Arc may be a bit aged by now, but do try these games! :) Especially LA2 that has a plot very similar to Stella Glow's. (I like LA1's characters mor though) Also, try Arc Rise Fantasia (undub version, preferably), that one rocks too!
When half your team is reduced to low HP by shitty rabbit puppets because the chapter didn't give you any monsters to grind against and you're underleveled... but you just got four PP That's an episode of a magical girl anime right there.
Only thing is while popo inflicts negate action, later mordi comes in and inflicts sleep with sp regen but then once you get hilda, she pretty much stops the entire field and buffs all your units so in the end she becomes the most viable witch character along with lisette for healing. Popo kinda loses that upper hand quite late into the game and lisette becomes more viable.
She almost feels like Sailor Moon done right. Hell, she has Usagi's new voice actress in the English Dub. And English Alto is the new Tuxedo Max Dub Voice.
+Frank M Yeah, I used Lisette's two songs the most. Popo's is really useful early on but then all the enemies have ailment resistance, and even Hilda's song doesn't work on a lot of enemies. You can beat the last boss just by keeping Alto near Lisette to keep on using the song.
They did a brilliant job with this piece. Unfortunately, it is the very first witch song you get to conduct in the game, and I'm finding that the ones I've gotten so far are paling in comparison @.@ shoulda saved this one for a later chapter.
Decent healing (you really learn to value this when you don't get access to Lisette in Hildegaria), cheap ranged AoE with good damage to weaken groups or finish them off outright if already damaged, flies so she can get anywhere with ease (outclassed only by Hilda who teleports around) and absurd global CC outclassed only by the lategame Ice World. What's not to love?
I love Popos song and it's effect.^^ Now I am at 100 hours playtime and I see the end is coming. It's a bit sad, but I guess that I'll play it again.^^

+Foxy Grandpa Meh, as a character she just kinda creeps me out and in battle I feel she lacks flexibility thanks to having only skills that target 1 foe.
I've been playing through Citra, so the added effects slow the emulation speed down to about 80% during the songs. Try playing at 75% speed, it's like a whole different tune.
Citra relatively recently had an update that allows you to make use of your GPU to effectively emulate. Was playing through this before the update and had those problems, now I don't. Just something to think about if you're consdering replaying (or finishing it) or there were games you were struggling with before.
I made certain to delete my save, actually: with how cheaply the last couple chapters spiked the difficulty, I'd given up on the true ending and had it up to here trying to get the normal ending alone. I knew if I kept the save I'd someday start a New Game+ and go for the true ending, and with all the extra grinding at the end, I felt the game had already used up too much of my time.
hey, i don't know if you still care, but NG+ removes the exp reduction effect tied to being higher levelled than your opponent, reducing grinding a whole lot
I would love another game set in their world. I don't think a direct sequel would work since the story got wrapped up well, but the same company has done other games like this before. Unfortunately that same company went bankrupt so I don't think we are ever getting it :(

She's great but the only thing is Hilda basically does everything she does better once you get her.
Bad physical defense and HP; not that it matters much since she is supposed to attack outside the enemy's range to begin with.

I've been playing through Citra, so the added effects slow the emulation speed down to about 80% during the songs. Try playing at 75% speed, it's like a whole different tune.
Citra relatively recently had an update that allows you to make use of your GPU to effectively emulate. Was playing through this before the update and had those problems, now I don't. Just something to think about if you're consdering replaying (or finishing it) or there were games you were struggling with before.
I made certain to delete my save, actually: with how cheaply the last couple chapters spiked the difficulty, I'd given up on the true ending and had it up to here trying to get the normal ending alone. I knew if I kept the save I'd someday start a New Game+ and go for the true ending, and with all the extra grinding at the end, I felt the game had already used up too much of my time.
hey, i don't know if you still care, but NG+ removes the exp reduction effect tied to being higher levelled than your opponent, reducing grinding a whole lot

I would love another game set in their world. I don't think a direct sequel would work since the story got wrapped up well, but the same company has done other games like this before. Unfortunately that same company went bankrupt so I don't think we are ever getting it :(
