unironically yes, people already dismiss KSP as being too goofy and childish, it doesn't really matter who's in the capsules as long as they make good thumbnails
As someone who’s played rocketwerkz’s Stationeers, I was elated to hear they were making the spiritual successor to KSP. I highly recommended Stationeers.
I tried stationeers a couple weeks ago, the actual building mechanics, graphics, physics, and all that is great, but the UI and inventory management is god-awful. It can take like 3 times longer to do something than it should just because of the awful inventory and UI systems. That said, with their years of experience since then, this will likely be much better in KSA.
@@1mariomaniac I can definitely agree that the UI is a bit rough. I've adapted and can navigate it with ease, but it is definitely a far cry from a smooth and intuitive experience. I think the design choice is largely because of the level of complexity of Stationeers and the UI needs to support all that complexity. I quite look forward to seeing what the do in KSA!
@@1mariomaniacTo be fair, the game comes with a disclaimer that it's not really for casual building gameplay and is really more focused on extreme systems optimization and whatnot.
You should do a series of new space games! I would love to see how you interpret sci fi space games like star citizen, elite dangerous, stellaris and such as one off videos.
1000% agree with you regarding "Kitten Space Agency". I posted something the same on Reddit. Everything from kittens being too cute and misleading as a name to them being the lowest common denominator to ... everything. I didn't say it with all the detail that you did, but basically it is not possible for me to agree any more fully with anything than i agree with the opinion that Kittens (or any real animal) would be "not KSP" and entirely wrong.
Apparently, the "Kitten" is KSA is just a placeholder. Something to develop the game under while they work on the engine and mechanics. They don't even have any artwork for the game in progress yet, so It's fairly likely the Kitten part will be dropped before a playable demo/alpha test comes out of the project.
Those are pretty consistent with each other compared to "join if you want to enjoy the full benefits of membership" which would be mostly marketing bs.
Kittens could be really a good idea: They obviously have 9 lives, so each could "die" 8 times in the game, then they retire, still alive, maybe working as coach for new kitten-nauts. That kinda gets rid of feeling bad when a rocket explodes and you are not reloading a save.
Kitten Space Agency would be the perfect excuse to exclaim, "Hairballs!" when our ships crash. 😅 Or stock comedy cat noises for anything crashing, especially off-screen. But in practical terms, I think you're right, Matt.
I agree Matt. The cats don't feel quite right. Having little aliens however also seems to close to ksp. What I think I'd want is just some cartoonishly proportioned humans or something.
The Kitten part was the coldest take I've ever seen. It's the complete opposite, adding cats has the potential to grow the community far beyond what Kerbal Space Program was capable of.
i would assume KSA went with kittens as the placeholder because it starts with K and is a commonly known animal. but realistically i dont know if they would go with yet another alien race as the protagonists as it will surely seem to some like a ksp clone and not the spiritual successor, i feel an animal might actually fit that bill better. so whats a wacky, fun animal with potential cutesy appeal, yet from a place known for its chaos? kangaroos. kangaroo space agency. i rest my case.
Regarding it being kitten space agency, i think it allows for two amusing things. First would be cute quadruped movement, just hopping across a surface in low g. Second, would be interesting to have them literally have nine lives
Im worried about KSP somehow, maybe its KSA, probably it would be a KSP rival, which would be good for both games, but im not pretty sure about it, i just know theres something saying "worry about this"
Honestly, I think most of the reasons you listed for kittens not being a good idea apply to kerbals as well, they’re cutesy cartoony creatures and how would somebody know that Kerbal Space Program is a serious game at all and not just something trying to capitalize off of the Minions craze yk? I think kittens are a great idea, they have the cuteness appeal of Kerbals and the potential for great expressiveness
The whole reason Felipe decided on Kerbals is he didn't want to use a creature people would get attached too and be upset when it dies. But everyone I know who plays KSP, including myself, reloads the last quick save whenever his Kerbals die.
@@RobertLutece909yeah, and the explicit goal of KSA is to make the crew important, so the reasoning for Kerbals being generic and replaceable doesn't make sense anymore

Yes no kittens. But i think that a kerbal like Creature could be not possible because of the new ksp owner. Has someone ideas what it could be?
@myxvcx2988 Kerbals are trademarked, but other colored and shaped and differently named anthropomorphic figures are available for usage.
That last couple seconds got me, thats absolutely what i was thinking the whole time.
That tweet looks more like they got hacked…
i never had high hopes for take two...
Basing it around kittens was the purrfect choice, and I will not be purrsuaded otherwise. I'm not even kitting.
unironically yes, people already dismiss KSP as being too goofy and childish, it doesn't really matter who's in the capsules as long as they make good thumbnails
lol of course starcraft cat marine would say that. "you wanna piece of me, meow?"

As someone who’s played rocketwerkz’s Stationeers, I was elated to hear they were making the spiritual successor to KSP.
I highly recommended Stationeers.
It's called rocketwerkz because it werkz rockets.
@@Andreas-gh6is *because ze rocket werkz.
@@1mariomaniacTo be fair, the game comes with a disclaimer that it's not really for casual building gameplay and is really more focused on extreme systems optimization and whatnot.
I wouldn't mind playing as kittens colonizing space...
Kittens work great, imho.
You should do a series of new space games! I would love to see how you interpret sci fi space games like star citizen, elite dangerous, stellaris and such as one off videos.
It would be funny if Elon bought ksp
Finally. An administrator who appreciates that giant explosions are frigging sick.
ELON BUYS KSP! 😱🥹

that ending was funny tho with the money
We all wish.

Matt going full Take Two at the end there
1000% agree with you regarding "Kitten Space Agency".
If there's one thing i learned from this video, its that matt has integrity
honestly? i think Elon's KSP is not crazy
(edit: i mean "not crazy", as in, it could actually happen and i wouldn't be surprised)
It'd kinda be best case scenario.
That'd be rad.
i was not expecting these replies
I had to watch this twice, once focusing on the news and once on the awesome SSTO
Crazy you released this at 8pm. Its almost like you knew that your entire fanbase has no life and stays up 'till 3am.
glad you made a video about alla this!
I strongly agree , I don’t think it should be kittens.
Matt at the end being so close to say "All your bank are belong to me" :D
Could call it kraken space agency :P
Kittens are the best, they would definitely love going to space.
I'm glad I'm not the only one not a fan of the name of KSA
Apparently, the "Kitten" is KSA is just a placeholder. Something to develop the game under while they work on the engine and mechanics. They don't even have any artwork for the game in progress yet, so It's fairly likely the Kitten part will be dropped before a playable demo/alpha test comes out of the project.
The Tweet appears to be deleted now. RIP :( 🕊
It’s been almost a year, i lost all hope for seeing a completed KSP2
"I have integrity" also "Please give me money"
Those are pretty consistent with each other compared to "join if you want to enjoy the full benefits of membership" which would be mostly marketing bs.
Matt knows what he's about.
There’s an alternate universe where we are all playing KSP 2 by rocket works lol
agree on the kittens point. Maybe I'm just too used to kerbals but, it just feels weird.
Kittens could be really a good idea: They obviously have 9 lives, so each could "die" 8 times in the game, then they retire, still alive, maybe working as coach for new kitten-nauts. That kinda gets rid of feeling bad when a rocket explodes and you are not reloading a save.
I heartily endorse this product and/or service.
Jeb is so brave even Trump knows him
"We have the best Kerbals, everyone agrees!"
"i have integrity"
one second later: "give me all of your money, i want your money"
Confirmed Matt Lowne wants minions space program
Kitten Space Agency would be the perfect excuse to exclaim, "Hairballs!" when our ships crash. 😅 Or stock comedy cat noises for anything crashing, especially off-screen. But in practical terms, I think you're right, Matt.
I agree Matt. The cats don't feel quite right. Having little aliens however also seems to close to ksp.
What I think I'd want is just some cartoonishly proportioned humans or something.
Appreciate the videos matt!
The Kitten part was the coldest take I've ever seen. It's the complete opposite, adding cats has the potential to grow the community far beyond what Kerbal Space Program was capable of.
Man. No
It sounds too childish. Whenever I talk about it I’ll sound like im talking about a childrens game
It’s your guys opinion though its fine
Secret ending: The anonymous buyer was illumination and we're going to get a minions/kerbals crossover.
i would assume KSA went with kittens as the placeholder because it starts with K and is a commonly known animal. but realistically i dont know if they would go with yet another alien race as the protagonists as it will surely seem to some like a ksp clone and not the spiritual successor, i feel an animal might actually fit that bill better. so whats a wacky, fun animal with potential cutesy appeal, yet from a place known for its chaos? kangaroos. kangaroo space agency. i rest my case.
Regarding it being kitten space agency, i think it allows for two amusing things. First would be cute quadruped movement, just hopping across a surface in low g. Second, would be interesting to have them literally have nine lives
Why did you need to plant that fear in me at the very end, Matt?
I agree completely with your take on "Kitten" Space Agency. It's like barf-level cute.
Im worried about KSP somehow, maybe its KSA, probably it would be a KSP rival, which would be good for both games, but im not pretty sure about it, i just know theres something saying "worry about this"
I'm hoping for "Beer volcanoes and Stripper factories.": All hail his Noodlyness. "R'amen!"

Trump: "This has been the worst trade deal in the history of trade deals, maybe ever,"
That flight was cool.
MATT HAVE MY CHILDREN IT HAS BEEN SEVERAL MONTHS WITHOUT A RESPONSE
Lol
btw i love your planet coaster vids please make them
Honestly, I think most of the reasons you listed for kittens not being a good idea apply to kerbals as well, they’re cutesy cartoony creatures and how would somebody know that Kerbal Space Program is a serious game at all and not just something trying to capitalize off of the Minions craze yk?
I think kittens are a great idea, they have the cuteness appeal of Kerbals and the potential for great expressiveness
The whole reason Felipe decided on Kerbals is he didn't want to use a creature people would get attached too and be upset when it dies. But everyone I know who plays KSP, including myself, reloads the last quick save whenever his Kerbals die.
@@RobertLutece909yeah, and the explicit goal of KSA is to make the crew important, so the reasoning for Kerbals being generic and replaceable doesn't make sense anymore
No
It just seems to childish to me. And I love ksp and when I tell people about it it feels fine, but if I told them about ksa, it’ll sound like a children’s game, and I’ll sound weird
@@VisualAuditoryHillucinationsOf just don't tell them about the cats until they play it.
@ it’s in the name, they’ll see it
I can’t just say “ksa” without them seeing the title before they play the game
It’s just too childish and feels far too unrealistic. Kerbals sound better and aren’t as kiddy and are still funny. No pun jbtenddd,

Comedy gold😂
Totally agree on kittens being absolutely horrible for a KSP successor. I'm hopeful of the final product BUT definitely NOT holding my breath yet on KSA given Stationeers still being in EA 7 years after launch and Icarus seemingly taking up all their bandwidth.
God... what a ridiculous decision to post that as a tweet after six months. Good thing I don't use Twitter anymore.
it's funny tho
graaar how dare people have a sense of humor and make jokes on social media!!1!
I wouldn't get too excited about a tweet. Blockbuster still tweets from time. Props for the Bender quote from Futurama S1E2, too.
Dayum! Have not heard of Kitten Space Agency until now but definitely seems worth keepeing an eye out for...
Do other folks not think that 'kitten' was only chosen to keep "k" in the acronym?
I have high hopes for Rocketwerkz. Their other game, Stationeers, is doing quite well and being updated often.
How about a VERY detailed video on the mods you have and exactly how to install them? With new people moving to KSP now I think it would be a valuable video.

Cool to hear your thoughts matt 👍
I fully agree with you about the Kitten as astronaut, it would sound and look weird. Even for me who likes cats.
