Serious question: What/who/how do you determine if you are a minority? Father from Mexico and White Mother from USA, = 50% Hispanic/Latino. Or, maybe in a case where on Father's side, Grandmother is 1/2 black, Grandfather is 1/4 Native American? How is this decided? What about a case where a person is 25% black and 75% white - Non-Hispanic? It can get confusing real fast! Thanks!

This sounds like you are certifying thru a 3rd party and that's why there is a fee. If you go to certify.sba.gov/, you can self certify. You still need most of the documents Michele mentioned, so there is some prep and the site does make a list of what is needed prior to filling out the forms. It's easy to fill out and there is no fee.

My father was born in Puerto Rico and I was born on a military base in Germany. I have no contact with him. I have US citizenship but how can I prove that I'm a minority? Would you be able to answer this or lead me in the right direction? Thank you
Yes, it is. The entire thing is legislated sexism/racism. Just be happy you're not a white male getting hard obtained clients with 5+ year relationships taken from you simply for not having a vagina or enough melanin. It's disgusting.

looking into this, I have too much shame to go through with it. Getting money because of my skin color would be scummy.
Dont be ashamed to get money based on skin color. America was founded on benefits because of skin color remember?
