My wife owns her own business called Mountain State firewood. She runs it, manages all the social media and employees. We were thinking about approaching local store chains with our camp fire kits, do you think this would be a good idea for her? One chain had a link for a site charging $350 to get certified. Where I started to get confused was looking online and seeing sooooo many certification programs. Is there a most respected organization?

Hi, I would focus on certifications through private organizations like the National Minority Supplier Development Council and WBENC. They both have application fees and recertifications fees because they are membership based organizations in addition to being certifying bodies. All certifying bodies are respected but if she's interested in working with corporations rather than government agencies then I would recommend she purse either of the mentioned certifications.

Hi there yes you can, as long as can prove that you have experience performing the service you are getting certified for. Even if you've worked for another company that still counts as experience.
