3 days before Halloween 1995: Atlanta wins their first WS in the state of Georgia And tonight, 26 years later on November 2nd, 2021, THE ATLANTA BRAVES ARE ONCE AGAIN WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS
I will be honest. I wanted to face the Giants and not the Dodgers. That playoff game when that ump made a terrible call for the Giants deserved to be fired. I felt so bad for you Giants fans. Of course we had to face the damn Dodgers yet again. Thank God we didn't blow a 3-1 this time. Dodged it not once but twice. You'll bounce back. Speaking of the Giants, yiur stadium is huge and I heard a few good things about Oracle Park. Angel Stadium I heard is beautiful with scenery. Best stadium I have ever been to other than then Turner Field is Kauffman Stadium. Not once but twice.
Here on 11/2/21. ...well technically it's after midnight so 11/3 lol. Still riding high and can't sleep just yet. Thinking of my lifelong Braves fan dad who passed in 2018. He watched this one, but wish he could've also watched with me tonight.
I remember coming home from work and catching this with my daddy; I was 19 and we were both hollering. He's been gone almost 12 years now and this is a moment with him I'll always cherish.
One of my fondest memories. I was 7, my dad bought a satellite TV subscription just so we could watch the World Series. He's gone now, but I'm glad we got to share that.
I was 10 years old and in the 5th grade. I remember crying when the Braves lost in game 5 because I wanted them to get it over with. But then for them to come back home to Atlanta and watch them win it all in game 6. Unreal. I lived in Peachtree City at the time, which is south of Atlanta. It was so crazy and great and one of the best memories of my life. Go Braves!

The 1995 MLB Baseball World Champions Atlanta Braves were the team of the 90s! Their team that year were the very best team of that whole decade. This was an all time great team full of Hall Of Famers! Go Braves!

@@clausesanta5042 We didn't even compete in the 1999 World Series. All the other ones were winnable though, as we took them all to at least Game 6 (Game 7 in 1991) and had a ton of one or two-run losses.
87Khein the biggest fiasco was '96, with the Game 4 comeback by the Yankees that was impressive to be sure but tainted because it was helped by umpire interference on that Jeter pop-up to open the 6th. That was an utterly catchable ball had the umpire not gotten in Dye's way. Jeter later scored a run they never would have had without that play, so the final score would have been 6-5 Braves. Leyritz's home run would have only brought them within one and I personally believe with the momentum in their favor, they would have finished them off in Game 5. And they totally melted down in '99, but they had a perfect shot to get back in that one with a lead after 7 solid innings from Glavine in Game 3 and a closer in Rocker who could easily go 2 innings if needed. But Cox foolishly left Glavine out there for the 8th (even though he was coming off an illness that had scratched him from his scheduled start in Game 1) and of course he blew the lead.
Atlanta is a blessed sports city! The Atlanta Braves won the city of Atlanta a baseball World Championship in 1995 and the Atlanta FC won them another one in 2018 in MLS soccer plus both teams are good teams that contend for the playoffs every year so hopefully both teams will win them another championship soon. The Falcons look they are finally going to get better. Maybe they will be the ones to give Atlanta their first NFL Super Bowl championship. The sky is the limit for their sports teams. Hopefully one of these teams will win Atlanta another championship soon! Go ATL!
Painfully listened to the Braves on am radio throughout the 70's and TBS in the 1980's. Watched Juaquin Anderjar mow them down in 1982 playoffs?(met Juaquin's cousin a few years ago) Watched them choke in 1991, 1992 and especially 1993. This final out was bittersweet for me.(I have it on VHS tape in a box somewhere) Have not watched an entire baseball game since. My football team even won in Fulton County Stadium (peach bowl) during the 1991 college football season during one of the greatest comebacks ever. I was there during 33 degrees and rain.
Well deserved for Atlanta. The Braves were the first team I rooted for in the WS in 1991. The next year I went to Middle School and met new classmates. One of them was a big Braves fan and in 1992 he was crushed. Seeing them finally win it all was cool.
