Yhhh, my childhood, you know now, and yes, we English are mad, in a good and bad way haha. You're all part British after watching this, and Little Britain. I'm subbing (y)
5:18 *Gareth Gates* - Finished 2nd on *Pop Idol* series 1, and had a stutter. Grew up in *West Bowling, Bradford* where *Melissa Steel, Lunar C,* and *Gareth "GK" Kelly* from *Bad Boy Chiller Crew* grew up. *Zayn Malik* grew up on *Paley Road* 2 miles East of me, which is the border of *East Bowling* and *West Bowling.*
The references were topical at the time, like the Mole News section was stuff that actually happened that week, and there was a show called Star Test which followed the format of that sketch. But even at the time, half the celebs were only known in the UK anyway😅. You should watch Shooting Stars, that's a weird Quiz show.
Imagine coming back from the pub after a nights drinking and finding this on the telly xD British surreal comedy done well, you would probably like Vic & Bob too. Checkout "LIVE: The Best of Vic & Bob from Shooting Stars Series 1 LIVESTREAM! | BBC Comedy Greats" ;) ;)
You said on the previous bo selecta video that you liked watching the Olympics. If you don't already you should try the Paralympics, it starts in just over a week.

@@andywrong3247 Geography isn't your strong point. Morley is in Leeds, just like... Keighley is in Bradford. Leeds is 213 square miles. Bradford is 141 square miles.
Who gives a flying feck about Bradford? Why was Bradford brought in as a topic of conversation just say leeds city of West Yorkshire with its surrounding suburbs..
@@andywrong3247 Bradford was brought up because Gareth Gates was featured in this episode, who I mention in a previous comment. Leeds was brought up because 3 Leeds people appeared in this episode. You, either know nothing about Leeds, or you're one of those people from Morley who claims not to be from Leeds (which is why you've edited your comment)... Just like people from places like Keighley claim they're not from Bradford, when they are, and always will be.
I dont know how i got away with being able to watch this a kid. Loved seeing the first time reaction, The Craiiiig Daviiiid part was all you used to hear people say when the show was first out.
Girl in the chair was geri halliwell from spice girls, avid is playing a parody of her, around the same time there was a series that asked celebrities random questions, there is on of jimmy Saville, earlier you saw elton john playing piano on his keyboard once again exacturated parody....
Easy, Peezy. I echo the others calling for some Vic & Bob (Reeves & Mortimer) and their show Shooting Stars. If you'd like an actual episode rather than compilations or clips to start with to get the full effect, maybe try (S4E2) with Larry Hagman the American actor who was completely lost. The quality on those old recordings isn't great but they are British comedy history. I just checked and noticed we've never had you react to Would I Lie To You, this is almost criminal. WILTY is a comedy gameshow where contestants read a statement from a card that is either a true story from their life or it is a lie written by the producers that they are seeing for the first time. The other team question them before deciding if they believe it or not. If the card is a Lie card, you can say whatever you want but if it is a True card then other than changing names and cracking obvious jokes you are not allowed to lie. Bob Mortimer referenced above is the most beloved guest in the show's history. You will get a lot of requests for Bob Mortimer on WILTY now that you're getting into more Alternative Comedy and surreal stuff. I'd suggest that if you are going to watch Bob on WILTY then do it by working through the Mortimerian Tales compilation (Even if only 1 or 2 cards per video) which is in chronological order. Many people will request things out of order in a way that will introduce spoilers that the compilation will avoid. Unfortunately plenty will simply post spoilers in their comments too for some reason. Reactors have fun playing along and viewers kinda like it too so feel free to pause before teams make their guesses to provide your own conclusions too. You'll be introduced to a lot of great comedians via WILTY over time. Vic & Bob had another show where they would sometimes feature a comedian named Charlie Chuck. Charlie is the inspiration for the Mel B (Scary Spice) character in Bo Selecta. If you watch the short clip "Charlie Chuck - Hilarious Stories" you'll peer a little further into the madness that lies within the rabbit hole.
Geri Halliwell was on a massive health journey at that point, bringing out an exercise DVD and book. Trying to find a new path after the Spice Girls had split up.
Craig David was actually pretty successful until this show aired... People kinda made fun of him after that.. You should 100% watch his most recent show 'Celebrity Juice' which ran for many years.. Same guy, just changed his stage name to Keith Lemon 👍
mate the fact you saw this and instinctually recoiled at saville says you understand UK life more than the rest of the entire show, which to be fair is mostly comprised of british based 'celebs'. this came when i was about 16, full of drugs and going to college. it was funny as fuck. just a shame he turned into a massively unfunny twat. still though it was great at the time
You should watch Vic and Bob, I think you're ready for it.
Yes bro 👍watching Manchester UK 👍👊
So glad you are reacting to this , i haven't watched it for years.😂😂
I haven't laughed that much in a long time 😂😂😂 please do more Bo Selecta! Amazing

You should put “American reacts to…” in the title again so people searching for that will see it

Even when you understand the references, it doesn't make much difference, since the comedy is just random AF!
