If you tore it down so far you should’ve just went ahead and changed the water pump while you’re at it.
You are correct.
You didn’t change the seal from the water pump to thermostat housing. It will probably leak again
Also, worm clamps are terrible and not better than OEM spring clamps
I ended up putting some silicone gasket maker. Forgot to film it.
