Would love to hear that V10 on song in sport mode, what an awesome unit!

Those electric OBs are just the shot for tenders. Not having to keep unleaded on the big boat would be great. Charge them off the solar between destinations.

    The boat is cool.

Electric steering sounds neat but the thing about hydraulic power steering is that even if the power steering fails you still fall back on the basic hydraulic steering. Maybe the electric steering is reliable but I'd still want to rig some basic teleflex backup steering to have on the side. My 40 experience with boats and ships tell me that everything electric fails eventually in one way or another.

I have ordered a Makaira Gen 3 750 alloy boat. It will have a 350 Mercury Verado full electric motor on it. Due to arrive sometime in September. Google Makaira to see what a weapon this will be.

Hate to be the guy to say it. But having the aqua slaves jump the outboards is just gross. Out of all the things merc could of done they choose that? Kinda weird.

Yes, so true. And for The Captain to say it's cool is just so disappointing. Either their PR agency is stupid AF or they made a calculated move - which means they must think big outboard lovers don't give a shit about marine life.

Sorry if its common knowledge but what part have mercury done wrong here? never owned one and don't know much about the brand but to read that they're harming marine life is concerning

@@jaar8320 Indirectly yes. By placing a product launch at a place infamous for animal cruelty and for having wildly caught whales and dolphins in captivity. I mean, there's enough data to show that even the ones bred in captivity don't live healthy lives. But even worse, depending on your viewpoint, they have knowingly bought animals which were caught in the wild - only to stick them in cages and try to say they do it for our education. Not sure a classic zoo in a first world country would dare paying a poacher/hunter to catch a healthy, grown, wild gorilla or elephant and put it on display. But it's ok in Seaworld...

Merc paving the way.....Too long have marine manufacturers getting away with giving us old tech and charging us astronomical dollars for it...Bout time "new(to marine)Tech" came into our industry compared to car engines. side note, Merc play very well indeed! Even have proper Merc University for their techs not like other brands!
