The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh have added so much to the working Royals. The King has a staunch ally in this couple. They are respectful and wonderful at the same time. They don't try to outshine the King and Queen, but to try to support them in whatever way they can. Hear, Hear!

I’m really happy to see Edward and Sophie out more. I would also like to see more of Princess Beatrice (not Eugenie) and Edo. The huge generational gap among senior royals is already causing a scaling back of duties. especially with Charles, Catherine, and Anne partially sidelined. More, younger backup support is needed.

It would be better if people didnt vote at all, maybe if that happened, (unrealistic obviously) but if it did, then that would send a clear message. We want them ALL out and start again. Certainly this needs to happen in Australia, it's going down the drain and makes no difference who is elected, they all follow the dsame despicable agenda and it's not at all for the people.

River, I have lived through an awful lot of elections and the debate about the disparity between vote share and number of seats happens every time. (By vote share, even the Tories would have had more seats!). Governments in this country are cyclical - starting a new cycle now, everything will seem great and gradually over the next years voices of dissension will arise and grow louder with the seats gradually reducing in each election until eventually the Government collapses and it all starts again. Frankly, I wouldn't want to be PM as it is a poisoned chalice.

When I was growing up in socialist Romania in the 90’s, I was part of this program. My mom did afford to get us milk and bread for breakfast even though we were so poor. The reason we were given free school milk etc wasn't because our parents couldn't afford it (both of my Parents worked very hard to enhance our lives), but because of the poor health of our children in the society of those days. Nothing to do with Socialism. Purely to do with Caring.

I can't tell you the number of times I've got downright vitriolic comments, simply from remarking that Mrs Thatcher was an example of a truly strong woman.
I don't even say it as a supporter of hers. I was a working class child in Northern England when she first came to office, and she did us no favours.
But when I look at so many women of today who shout from the roof tops about how strong they are, whilst acting quite the opposite, of course I'm going to make comparisons.
Mrs Thatcher was a woman in a heavily male dominated world, and she never used The Woman Card. She saw the playing field and she played on it, in the same way as the men.
They respected her for that, even when they didn't like her.

It also seems somewhat corrupt that Lib dems (who are destroying our local towns and cities - dictatorial autocrats, nothing liberal or democratic about them) had just about 13% of the national vote and 70 seats. Reform had nearly 14% of the share and have just five seats - you tell me how that is a fair representation of the vote and therefore democracy? Also Labour with a peer of the realm, multi millionaire as lead of a "socialist" party, had just under 34% of the vote on the lowest turn out since 1945 yet had a "landslide victory". A few years back they had 31% of the vote and resoundingly lost the election. If nothing else, IMO the reason Margaret Thatcher was popular was because she was strong, she made it perfectly clear what she thought, and why.
I can not say she was right on certain issues, but I knew what she was doing.
Today's politicians are so afraid, of everything/ one they just flip flops over issues, so nobody actually knows what they intend to do,or believe in, I don't think they even know.
I just want a strong politician again, one who I know believes in what they say and do, if I don't agree, it is up to me to voice my opinion.
