Last week I was in town and whilst waiting to cross the road the man next to me said 'Good morning' and a conversation developed. He told me his son, ex army, like himself, had just had a breakdown. He had left his wife and children with just a carrier bag. Of course the wife phoned the father. They tried to find out where he was. Anyway three days later he was found. He had been in a hedge. So Dad of course took him to his house to clean up etc. and fortunately got him a room in our town in a building that has apartments for veterans. Let's hope he gets the help he needs and it all has a better ending. Just needed to get that off my chest.
This is the Real Truth of Veterans, I am so sad that in most Governments they have No Empathy for Veterans.

Mostly from hearing and reading Trevor’s accounts, and questioning all of it, the support for veterans is a s..t show. There is more regard for those who don’t want to work, but can, against those who have given so much. They have witnessed so much and had their lives changed for ever, without much to show for it. I hope this changes.

It is sad state of affairs, when illegals/refugees that have contributed ZERO to a country get treated better and are given far more money than the ex military that risked their lives for that country. In Canada currently, the government are considering purchasing hotels to house illegals/refugees. However former servicemen and women ( some with complex psychiatric issues due to their military service) have been homeless for years. The government didn’t purchase hotels to help them! Where is the moral compass?

I was just watching a US Vet reacting to a song by our Australian band Redgum singing I Was Only 19 about the Vietnam war. I can never listen to that song without welling up 😢. It makes me so very angry that certain people can step on our shores and be given free housing, free medical, government funded (the government gives an organisation money to employ certain people) to get jobs in aged care and disability, because they are 'easy' jobs to fill a diversity quota, while our vets are laying on the streets forgotten living with unresolved medical and mental health issues, freaking grrr 😠🇦🇺

Trevor you mentioned Railey Haines, the women's rights in sports advocate. Last year i remember hearing in an interview having reached out to Serena Williams about coming out and publicly support the right of women only in sports. Serena never responded though Martina Navratilova another tennis legend did. This is despite Serena mentioning a while back in an interview that she would loose in a match against any male tennis player. I lost all respect for her for her refusal to stand up for the rights of real women in womens sports. What a hypocrite and a sell out.

@@MariaPalmer-xo8eb I think that the results were a wake-up call to those who voted Conservative last time and changed to Labour, because this is a disaster to continue with this swap of Blu/Red, globalist, elitist, they needed to vote reform to break this cycle. I don’t agree 100% with reform, but the majority of what they want is beneficial to our people and our country.

Don't talk to me about tourists, I live in the Cotswolds and it's not unusual to find faces looking through the windows as if our homes are part of a theme park, some even ask if they can come in and have a look around, unbelievable!

Sounds awful, and just like the way they behave at Horse Guards. Most tourists seem to think that the guards on duty are there for their picture taking and know nothing of the history etc. One lad climbed the railings, and the armed police were quick to tell him "you are not in Disneyland now" - lol.
Here on the Oregon coast we refer to tourists as ‘terrorists!’

Let’s remember that many of our veterans are homeless and Prince William is trying to help, unlike Harry and his wife who took a huge chunk of money from the Invictus games for their expenses, accommodation and her many outfits. How is Harry getting an award when he is not even an American? Wasn’t the Invictus Games copied from the American Warrior Games to give him something to do and wasn’t it a joint effort with William and the Princess of Wales?

This year sees the 80th anniversary of DDay. The ESPY accolade should have been awarded to or shared between the few remaining US WW2 veterans, irrespective of any lauded sporting achievements on their parts.
Every step these veterans have taken, every ball they have tossed, every bat they have raised, every game they have watched, perhaps with children, grandchildren or great grandchildren, represented the achievements of free men, of a free nation. Thank you to the US veterans for fighting the Allied fight - to free the oppressed and to defend the threatened... the ESPY is and always will be yours.
